Parking can be very difficult on peak days especially summer time. The park is behind the Presidio Visitor Center. It has clean and modern gender neutral restrooms as well as a cafe which offer various coffee, drinks and snacks. Been here several times with friends and this place always amazes me. They have grown substantially in the past year with more playgrounds for kids. Picnic areas for everyone to enjoy especially on a nice weather day and some well maintained walking paths. The Golden Gate bridge visitor center is about 35 minute walk. Presidio Tunnel Tops is indeed a very good place to chill with family and friends. Waiting for sunset can be very rewarding. Not a place to spend a lot of time (no seating nor grass for picnicking), but many cyclists, joggers, and pedestrians certainly pass by throughout the day. A nice stop if checking out the art along the Golden Mile on JFK. Tip for parking: if you park near the boathouse at Blue Heron Lake, there's a trail behind the restroom building that leads to the JFK promenade and is just a 5 minute walk to Rainbow Falls.

Early June with mild coastal temp, 50s-60s. Started up Matt Davis Trail in the foggy forest, to Pantoll Campground, to West Point Inn where we can look down to the top of the fog layer, to the Fire Lookout building at the Peak. Then we came down reverse but split off to Steep Ravine and Dip Sea trail after the campground. I've also always wanted to climb that ladder. This hike provided views of the Pacific ocean on the West as well as views of Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on the East side. I thoroughly enjoyed the cool lush forest, but actually my favorite section was the single track along the slope of the open area after the Mt Tam State Park sign.

We walked up the HUGE San Francisco hill to the park, and then the whole park is a hill. The park is beautiful, there are sidewalks throughout, a nice playground for kids, a dog park area with a fence around it, and a summit area. Near the summit there was a coffee truck, Native Twins Coffee, that was perfect to grab a coffee or matcha. The dog park was a good size, it's long and fenced in, but on the hill so if you're planning on playing fetch/catch with your dog it'll either be throwing up hill or chasing it downhill. There were some trees, so there was some shade in the area too, plus a water fountain in case your dog gets thirsty. I will say, there were dogs all over the park off leash, not just in the turfed dog area. The dogs that were off leash were well behaved, but we kept an eye on our dog (on leash) and the others around us just to be safe. The summit is really pretty with some areas to sit down and plenty of shade. The view was great, and there were groups of people there for a birthday party. The playground area also had some seating nearby and another party was happening in that area. Despite the giant hill, this was a very cute park. I'd definitely stop by again.

His knee hurts after exercising so decided not to continue. He gave me his card but the registration person said cannot share card even though he canceled and not using it. His picture showed up when I tried to sign in with the card. The facility here is also not good compared to Fitness SF. Adult membership is $91 and Senior is $81 so not much of a discount even though his is paid for by Kaiser. They have free resistance band workout every other Wednesday at the Union Square plaza at 8am. It's a free class and the instructor is nice.

The incline from ground level is minimal with multiple paths and staircases available for convenience, and it's just a couple minutes walk from the top of Huntington Falls. Combined with the entirety of what this place has to offer (waterfalls, picturesque lake, adorable waterbirds, trails allowing for a peaceful stroll with loved ones, pedal boat rentals on the lake), it's a pretty great spot, one of many awesome landmarks at Golden Gate Park.

Strawberry Hills gives a nice overview of the lake beneath as you walk up the hill. At the top, you get a pretty overlook of SF city. Image attached below. Definitely check out Strawberry Hills when you're in GG Park. And, if also chasing for waterfalls, definitely check out "Rainbow Falls". It is very beautiful as well.

Today this place is located in the Glen Park neighborhood of San Francisco and it's called Glen Canyon Park and Recreation. This place feels as you stepped into nature inside a forest and canyon outside San Francisco. This place looks far from the scenery around the Civic Center. You will also find a community painted mural which reflects the Glen Canyon Park habitat like the animals and birds designed by animated television series Bob Burgers artist Sirron Norris. There are no amusement parks in San Francisco but you can be amused at the different local parks the city has by living that park life. It is far less busier than GGP, which can be great if you're opting for a peaceful stroll in nature. Although not as polished as GGP, the park is maintained fairly well. I would highly recommend this park if you're looking for a quieter, less crowded peaceful retreat in the city. I also suggest previewing the map first, as there are tons of different parks within the park, based on the activity you're going for.

The park also has this box where people can recycle their plastic bags, so if one doesn't have dog poop bags, they can use those. Garbage can also conveniently located near the entrance for quick disposal. I also see people quietly eating lunch, taking breaks here, so good respite from busy Geary/Clement.

The staff will walk you through compatibility between plants and also compatibility with your work schedule/ability to care for your new plant babies. You will pay for each plant separately as well. In the planting activity, everything is provided for you - tools, gloves, a rainbow assortment of sand and rocks, moss, driftwood...whatever you can imagine! I love my final product! I also really enjoyed the activity overall BUT I also admit that it was a little pricier than what my friends and I originally thought (because we didn't know about the time rate). A peaceful, welcoming hidden gem in the Richmond District--a refreshing escape from the bustle of Clement Street and Geary Boulevard, with quiet paths, shady trees, a calm lake, and secluded spots that make it feel like a quiet retreat. You can walk around the lake by doing the mountain lake trail which takes you around but not close by the shore. I learned that the broad walk was the exact place where the Spanish settlers arrived. During that time the lake was much bigger in size and has since shrunk due to the impacts of development, such as the roads and the surrounding golf course. Now the park is filled with wildlife. There are lots of birds to see and a great place for birdwatching. There is even a little box trunk by the lake where people can release their fish or turtles in, instead of the lake to avoid harming the ecosystem. Thanks to the restoration efforts by the Presidio Trust and it's volunteers in creating a vibrant area for the wildlife and the community.

If you're even a minute late, you won't be getting into the class -- the capacity is not that large and the demand is high. If you've had some pottery experience, you can also try to get into the drop-in program. There's also studio and locker space but the waitlist for that is literally years long. It's also one of the few places doing cone 10 firings with very unique glazes that are formulated in the studio. There are two different kinds of shino, three different kinds of celadon, all sorts of mattes and a really unique satin white and satin black. Ruby's is the OG for pottery in SF. Way before pinterest and instagram got tech folks like me into throwing pottery, Ruby's got started in this residential building back in the hippie 60s. There are folks teaching and doing work at Ruby's who got their start here from back then. It's also a non-profit with a strong sense of community. You'll learn a lot from watching and talking to other potters in the studio

Located next to an…read moreoff ramp from I280 in the heart of Potrero Hill, it offers a welcome respite from the noise and clamor going on around it. Here you can "get away" right next to a freeway. And while you're there you can enjoy an incredible variety of flowering and other plants including an extensive cactus collection, relax on the bench or take your dog for a walk. A must-see for anyone interested in urban beauty!
