From the moment I arrived, I've felt welcomed, supported, and genuinely cared for. The manager has gone above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly. They are not only professional and organized but also kind and understanding. It's rare to find someone who treats residents with both efficiency and warmth. The maintenance team is equally wonderful -- always quick to respond, respectful, and incredibly helpful. Every issue I've reported has been addressed promptly and thoroughly, and it's clear they take real pride in keeping this community safe and well cared for. And I cannot say enough good things about the cleaning lady. She keeps everything spotless and shining, and always with a kind word and a smile. Her hard work and attention to detail make a big difference in daily life here, and it does not go unnoticed. In a world where good service can be hard to find, this team truly shines. Their dedication creates not just a clean and safe place to live, but a real sense of community. I feel lucky to be here and thankful for the care they show every day. current resident

On an January visit to learn, Walnut Village felt like a top-tier hotel or cruise ship. This was…read moredriven home by the beautiful plants and the finishes in the restrooms by the lobby as we prepared to leave. It was like a Four Seasons throughout and not like a facility for seniors. Touring Walnut Village with Anita, the units were more spacious and more homelike than expected, especially in the bathrooms and kitchen with excellent attention to quality. The fixtures in the hallways were nicely upscale as well; again, the finishes in a seemingly unimportant place were top quality. The Red Chair Lounge looks like a great place to stay engaged; having a drink and socializing before dinner in a quite elegant dining room. The food in the Bistro was excellent and, obviously, residents enjoy and comment on it. One of the issues in any community living situation is that menus get too routine. The staff works hard at variety which shows with the length of the menus and, again, the quality. Probably most important, was the feeling projected by the residents. Residents through out the tour were very engaging with a number stopping to say hello. One answered a question about walking in the surrounding area as a number of residents go out regularly - often walking over to Disneyland. Checking Medicare.gov, Walnut Village ranks very high for its skilled nursing facilities. Many looking for senior housing only think about today but all the levels of service at Walnut Village not only look good but work well. Finally, on a cost side, Walnut Village is an entrance-fee CCRC with monthly fees providing independent and assisted living in the units and an attractive skilled nursing unit on site. That means no leaving friends behind if a medical event arises. Comparing the cost of Walnut Village to other good CCRC facilities in Orange County, it has the lowest entrance fee for comparable size units, provides the largest refund of entrance fees upon leaving with monthly cost comparable or lower than competitive CCRCs. Bottom line, we both were pleasantly surprised by what we saw versus our expectation arriving. We knew it would be a newer facility but could not anticipate the vibe inside. Lots of food for thought.

This was all new to us - how to find a place and find a place we like. Our placing agent recommended Magnolia Palms. We end to check it out and the owners Kim and Chris were very patient with myself and my family. They answered all our questions made us feel at ease that my family member will be well cared especially since we were not local. Setting up the contract was pretty straight forward and they are electronically savvy. The facility is brand new very comfortable. The rooms are pretty good size and very clean. The staff there was very attentive and addressed all needs. We lived up north and never worried about our family member's care. We were extremely happy and felt they treated us like family. The HB location is a new house with modern facilities and beautiful rooms. The outside landscaping is also tranquil and serene and perfect for residents to spend a morning in the sunshine. This is a board and care in a residential environment so it doesn't have the feel of a "facility" but rather, home-like surroundings making it easier for transitioning from one's home to a living situation with assistance. The owner Rita Lee is very hands-on and she was a savior when I was looking a place for my grandmother after a disastrous few years at another board and care in Tustin. When you are looking for a home for your loved ones who are elderly or sick you need to know that they will be safe and well taken care of. For me, Lotus Senior Care was the best decision I've ever made. I felt my grandma was in a safe environment where she was treated with dignity and respect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a home for their loved one.

Can I say one thing? I'm not sure why this hospital has such low reviews. I know they take on…read morereally sick patients and sometimes this can go sideways but I have personally experienced acute care from this hospital. My dad is recovering from Sepsis here. He's been at the hospital (not just this one) but about 2 months almost. At kindred like 3 weeks and currently he's in the ICu due to complications due to how fragile he is atm. But there's is a NIC here in the AM, SHERRY. Before I got to talking to her I see how she micro manages her nurses and can I say I am amazed on the care she gives to the patients in this wing. I know my dad is okay ESPECIALLY the 5 days she is in charge. I had a little scare a couple days ago and the way this team reacted to the alarm, I am just so thankful. I am at peace knowing my dad is being watched here. And I know it always come down on how a team is led and I can honestly say , I LOVE SHERRY AND TRULY THANKFUL FOR THIS TEAM!!!!!! In the other hospitals my dad has been in becasue of his critical condition, this place has given him many good days and infection clearing up and being visible than any other hospital he has been in and he's been to 3 before this. Thank you Kindred and thank you Sherry! Very thankful for you

I've waited a while to write this review to make sure my head is clearer for an accurate review -…read moreMy family relied heavily on true reviews of the Kindreds when transferring my father to one, so I'd like to provide information to other families who may benefit.  TL;DR: Kindred is bad, outdated, doesn't share information, has no online portal or easy way to get medical information, hard, if not impossible, to talk to doctors, and is the only option for LTACHs in OC. Of the Kindreds in OC, this one is still the "best." There are a few decent people (palliative care team, patient advocate, and the ICU), but they're limited by the system and other issues, and you still have to be present almost at all hours to make sure your loved one is taken care of. An LTACH is a step down from the hospital in terms of care, so you need to step-up to be an advocate.  Long: The building and systems are old. You can't get medical records/test results/doctor notes/chart updates unless you go to the medical records office, fill out a form, and go in and ask for paper copies daily (which we did). The doctors are not available, the nurses don't share anything ("the doctor will tell you that"), and admin can only do so much. Maybe you'll have a case worker that actually does something or talks to you, but the patient advocate was helpful at least and always made time. As far as care goes - the ICU area had better nurse to patient ratios and was really quite good. Outside of the ICU, it was more dismal. The nurses don't really care - most are just doing the bare minimum. There are a few good ones in there - you can request them if you want (do that). It takes ages to get a response after hitting the call button. My dad wasn't repositioned often unless he needed new dressings or linens. PT/OT only worked with him when we were there, otherwise they'd claim he was asleep or not receptive to working. Speech therapy came some but it wasn't until one fantastic lady came and really helped clear out my dad's mouth. You need to be there all the time to hold them accountable and make sure things are done. You can get extended hours approved too, which is worthwhile. Kindred works their employees hard, but the staff still need to understand that their patients are in critical condition, in long-term care, need compassion and good care, and are needing to recover.  The doctors are all listed on the patient whiteboards, but they're never there during visiting hours (it sure felt like this was done on purpose to avoid interaction with family members. We asked many, many times to talk to doctors. If you are the squeaky wheel, though, you may get lucky - pester and then pester more. That's the only way we were able to talk to doctors. Though some of their bedside manners could be better. Make sure to ask who the doctors/nurses/therapists are when they come in as they don't often do introductions. The palliative care team was really quite good - respectful, listened, and compassionate. They really helped us understand what was going on and helped us get the information we wanted and needed. When we were there, Kindred had just started a new hospice contract with Compassionate Health Hospice. It was horrible. They messed up everything they could from showing up 90min after their set time to messing up the medication order. And not even apologizing or being respectful.
