The place looks nice on the outside but holy hell, this place leaves their patients completely unattended and neglected. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. There are patients screaming for nurses, patients who need help getting to the restroom being ignored, and it's completely unacceptable. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. We have a family member who needed assistance from recovering from a major surgery, and thought this establishment would be a good place to transition them back home from being in the hospital. WE WERE SO WRONG. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. Recovering from surgery or any medical condition is a profoundly vulnerable time for many patients. It is not uncommon for them to feel down but to deprive them of assistance at an establishment that is meant to look after patients is both unacceptable and frustrating. My grandpa came to Garden View Post Acute after a stay at Queen of the Valley Hospital. The transition between the hospital and to the nursing facility was made easy by Edith and Ana from the admissions team.I can't say enough about the amazing care he received. From the very beginning, the nurses went above and beyond, they treated him like family. You can tell how much they love their patients and their jobs, because the compassion and patience they showed my grandpa every single day was incredible. Dr. Singh took wonderful care of him as well, always making sure we understood his plan and that my grandpa was comfortable. Having a doctor who was so attentive and kind gave us a lot of peace of mind. The kitchen staff was also awesome. They made sure to accommodate his food preferences and any little requests. The facility itself is spotless, which really shows how much pride they take in creating a safe, clean environment for the residents. I have to mention Miriam, the Activities Director, she is such a bright light. Her energy, kindness, and creativity bring so much joy to the residents, and it was wonderful to see my grandpa enjoying the activities she put together. My wife Naseem Gilani was shifted from Kaiser Riverside to Garden View Post Acute Rehab on September 10, 2024. She could not even stand on her feet before moving into the facility. She was given physical therapy regularly by the experienced physical therapists and due to their hard work she started taking a few steps with the help of a walker. Whole staff of Garden View Rehab are extremely well behaved, mannered, trained and courteous, especially RN Xochi under the kind supervision of Administrator Mr. Ryan Leet who himself is highly professional and knowledgable person. I must also mention here the name of Ms Ana Camacho who has been extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. My Father in law needed a skilled nursing facility and we were referred here. I'd definitely recommend it to others needing this kind of care. I've been to a few nursing homes (when touring other ones in the area)...this place is clean--really clean--and there's none of that strong smell you sometimes notice in other facilities. That alone made a big difference. What I appreciated most was the staff. Anyone I interacted with was friendly and seemed to genuinely care about the residents. MAJOR PROBLEMS HERE! Okay what is going on!!! My mother had to wait hours for someone to change her portapotty. LITERALLY OVER 3 HOURS! Has to wait forever for anyone to help! They have a small monitor at the end of the hall that displays when a patient needs help. That's if anyone actually notices.... THEY NEED A LIGHT OUTSIDE THE ROOMS TO NOTIFY WHEN SOMEONE CALLS. Or better yet a beeper on each CNA/Nurse. My mom's roommate had to wait an hour for someone to help her use the bathroom.... Once you can actually verbally notify someone you have to wait even longer for them to come back! If they come back at all!! This place needs MORE staff and a light call system. Also the FOOD!!! Facility is clean and bright, staff very welcoming, and food is excellent, well recommended

My dad was a patient here for a year and a half. His life deteriorated quickly soon after and eventually passed away. He was paralyzed and also unable to talk or communicate so he wasn't able to ask for water. Whenever we visited, we were able to give him water and told the staff to provide water when we weren't around. We even posted signs above his headboard to remind the staff to give him water and apparently they did not. This lead to him being transferred to the hospital back and forth numerous times because of severe dehydration which caused his kidneys to fail. Doctors at the hospital were shocked and upset and even with repeated warning, they still didn't listen. Once in the hospital, they noticed he had Stage 3 bed sores that went deep into his fat tissue layer, which indicated that they did not rotate him from time to time as instructed. This facility is negligent and careless. I wouldn't suggest anyone putting their elders in this nursing facility because they will not get the proper care you would hope or expect. read more

Wow, to all the staff at Garden View.. thank you! Our family felt so welcomed from the moment we toured this building. The admissions gal listened to our concerns, explained the entire rehab program, and made the transition from the hospital easy. The therapist especially where kind, and worked with my mother everyday. She felt heard and comfortable, and was able to recover and come back home to us. By far, the best nursing facility! The nurses are outstanding and take extreme care of their patients. They always try to keep the patient's family well informed and even have meetings with families to go over how the patient is doing. After having my dad come from an awful nursing home previously, I expressed my concerns prior to admitting him here. Ever since that meeting, my expectations have not only been met, but exceeded! I truly appreciate the facility's director, Kamille, and how much she has treated my dad and I with kindness and respect. Every person that I have met here has done nothing, but treat my dad with the most love and care. Although my dad's health isn't fully back to where it used to be, his spirit came back and I am forever grateful to Garden View and the nurses for bringing him back to me. All my love to Kamille and every nurse that has helped my dad. You saved his life and I will always remember that and appreciate that! There isn't one place I wouldn't recommend more than here! A couple of years ago my family and I were faced with the difficult task of choosing a nursing home for my father. Prior to becoming a regular visitor at Garden View, I used to imagine nursing homes as being dirty, smelly, and horribly sad. Thankfully, Garden View was nothing like what I feared. Instead, their facilities were very clean, their physical rehabilitation room was top-notch and their staff was beyond amazing! It's difficult to not be able to provide the type of care your loved one needs. Trust me, my family and I never thought we would ever be in the market for a nursing home. However, after visiting many nursing homes, and reading reviews, we were lucky to snag an opening at Garden View. My dad lived there for a couple of months and they were difficult months for our family but the staff made it bearable. Knowing that there were hard-working and caring individuals around the clock is what allowed us to sleep at night. Thank you Garden View for all that you do. read more

This facility is the Worst place ever.,When it comes to care, I would not bring my worst enemy here. The Facility might be clean but the nurses never come when the patients call. My mother was transferred here from the hospital and was been treated for a UTI and Dementia. These people are Not trained nor educated on how to handle dementia patients. My mom supposedly fell from the bed. And had scratches and deep wounds on her hands and arms, one finger was severely swollen and had a visible mark. I decided to get her out, and her clothes were missing. I showered her because they didn't even do that for her. The worst thing of all is she was being discharged with someone else's medication. Talk about Malpractice. I have so many negative things to say. But don't take your loved ones there. read more

My sister was in this facility for 2 months and I would never send anyone to Garden View again. The goal for my sister was to help her become more agile and mobile after a fall. Instead, she was subjected to verbal abuse by the staff, put in a diaper and told she was allowed out of bed only for 30 minutes per day for minimal physical therapy. She was forced to be bedridden for almost 24 hours per day, as mandated by the facility. As a result, she had a yeast infection, and a urinary tract infection. This facility did almost nothing to improve her mobility and she left the facility in much worse condition than when she was admitted there. Upon discharge, she was unable to walk even a short distance because she was bedridden for 2 months and she lost all muscle memory and strength. She was immediately admitted to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. I would rate this facility zero stars if I could. read more

The tall man Arthur is who to blame for my grandpa getting sick once again since they wanted a patient that would bring them more money instead of the patient who needs more assistance. Sadly his health deteriorated and he passed. The day my grandpa was admitted to the hospital a week from him passing we saw Arthur recruiting more people to take advantage of and I just wanted to go up to him and say some not so nice words... My Grandmother is in for for therapy for neck surgery, she calls out to get help but no one comes by. No communication whats so ever! My grandmother is in a lot of pain but they have no care in the world. One in particular supervisor Lee is the worst of all. no respect , not professional . she would talk over you thinking herself as supervisor. these people dont care at all for the care of the elderly. They treat them as low trash. that is not right. i want to rate this place lower then a 1 star. read more

I'm only giving this facility 1 stars. Yes they are a clean facility and half of the staff was friendly to us. Other wise I DO NOT recommend this place at all. We ended up taking my aunt to USC for a second opinion due to lack of proper care & communication. To top it off, we caught them in a few lies & then pull us aside individually saying they told the other family member about the issue to cover their backs. 1st impressions matter, but most importantly, the experience beyond the tour and initial greeting is what earns a recommendation. Garden View provided excellent rehabilitative care. The Physical Therapy unit delivers optimum therapy and is open to family coordination and feedback. Nursing is skilled, warm, attentive and always willing to respond to requests -thank you! My mother regularly stated that she was treated well and I witnessed that staff responded to residents with integrity and respect. My elderly mom came to live with me and within 3 weeks fell and broke pelvic bones. After hospitalization the doctor referred us to Garden View for acute rehab care. It seemed like a nicer place than many as these places go. Most of the time things were OK. But when it came time to release her they wished to give me a 24 hour notice that since they made a mistake i would have to take her out earlier and she was still recovering from flu and given a z pak to avoid pneumonia. I appealed to Levante (a non medicare agency that looks into these things). It was agreed to keep her 1 more week. What a terrible mistake on my part, she went downhill that last month in that place. The REALLY horrible problem was that for almost all of the 3 months she was there she had a very uncomfortable itchy rash and complained to me and certified nursing assistants about it all the time. One time she cried to me and begged me to do something. I reported it to no less than 2 cna's , the med nurse, and the charge floor nurse twice. NO ACTION. My mom was sent home with a Raging case of scabies infecting us. This was uncaring and incompetent. We are still suffering unnecessarily. Scabies is to convalescent centers as lice can be to schools. Absolutely horrible what my mom and we are going through. They pretend to know nothing about it desperate to keep their 5-star rating. It is such a simple thing to diagnose and cure if caught early. No excuse for this facility. TRY addressing the patient's and loved one's concerns. Why the doctors and staff ignored scabies for months is unconscionable. Filing a complaint with Medicare asap. read more

My grandpa was recently transferred here after he was hospitalized. He has a fall so he need rehab. The rehab team was awesome. He recovered and was able to walk by himself within a month and now he's better than he was before. This place was definitely the cleanest out of all the ones I toured. It has no weird or strange smell. Love that they give out freshly baked cookies too! Would definitely recommend sending a loved one here. The staffs are really friendly! read more

This is a great facility, the staffs and management are very compassionate and sincerely care for the patients/residents. My dad was a resident at this facility for the last 5 years of his life and he was very happy and satisfied with the care he got until the very last day of his life. The staffs had showed so much love and care for my dad. The staffs contacted me regularly to inform me what happened with my dad regardless whether it was just a minor issue/problem. The facility was able to accommodate for the care of my dad during his last days of his life and also accommodated my family so we could be by his bedside during his last days. My family and I are very thankful and appreciated for everything that the staffs and management from this facility have done for my dad and my family. My family and I would highly recommended this facility to anyone that are in need of care services for their love ones. I have a relative that is there long term and I am very happy with how the place is run and how they treat the residents. They have several social activities scheduled daily, a menu that has a wide variety of main dishes and side dishes and many substitution options. The staff is patient and well organized. The place smells clean every time I visit. I wish all rehab and long term residents could come to a place like this. read more
