This place is really nice and all I have met was friendly staff that seem to really care and that is one of the most important things to know that the staff cares I am having a wonderful experience with Amanda and Justin and all the CNA's and help they're kidding to my mom And I hope it continues. I won't even mark a star, arrived on a Saturday, no one at front door. Had a 3 pm tour arranged but no one knew about my tour, as again no one at desk. So I walked through entire units, passed many staff members of which, no one ask me what I was doing. Now the rooms ,oh my gosh ,where this place got there pictures used on the web is a guess as good as mine. Rooms I walked past had four beds to a room, all were your usual Convelescent room, patients crying and the smell was awful... I am a retired RN , this is a No will not place anyone here! read more

Understaffing causes patients who yell all day. Nursing staff has told me they ignore the call button! Staff morale is so low that it affects patient care and patients. Not unusual to lay in a soiled bed for 5 or 6 hours. This causes rashes. No water for 5 hours. Medication is sporadic. read more

I actually work in the healthcare industry. I came by today to see five residents. When I tell you the staff from the front desk, admissions, social services ,amazing !!! helpful, friendly. I must say administration lazy as other nursing homes. Kaiser sent my mom after a fall and in pain. Her heart rate a little high she was in pain, they rejected her and sent away at 10pm. Who does that? Very insensitive and inhumane. I'd never send my family here. Be careful and weary this place has poor communication. No accountability. read more

This place is awful. I've been give the wrong dosage of my medication. 5 times to much. The showers are cold and dirty. The food is awful. When your diabetic. They'll give you a fruit plate. Go figure. If you go out to a doctor or dialysis. If they forget to pick you up and u call the facility sometimes they dont answer the phone. Which is a common problem here. Call goes unanswered as well. The staff lies to you. Unless you speak up people go unshowered. People are not walked or taken outside. Mattresses are dirty, ripped and worn. Laundry gets lost. My aunt was recently in this facility she had overall a good stay, we had some mishaps with some of the cnas but they fixed our issues and we ended up taking my aunt home but Gladstone was good to us. Food could be better. Staff was very welcoming, I just recently went to visit again just to say hi & we agree with the comment below about Tasha, first person we would always see, she is great. She made us feel comfortable and at ease when we arrived, she makes you feel at home. She is awesome with testing and getting us our masks and telling us where to go. She is also so great with kids! My mom has been here for 6 weeks. The care and activities have been great to keep her motivated to get stronger to come home. As with anything there is room for improvement, but for the most part alot of the issues are due to covid restrictions. We are working around the requirements. read more

Gladstone has been a wonderful place for my Mom and they have made me feel more secure having such a caring staff. The activities girls decorate for all of the holidays and have fun games for the residents. During Covid, they have been taking precautions to keep everyone safe and although it is challenging to visit, they have been very accommodating in letting me visit my Mom every week when it was ok to do so. read more

My mom calls this place hell. She tells everyone she knows not to go there. She was there February 2021. She couldn't sleep because it so noisy. Wake you up at 11pm to weigh you. Wake you up in the middle of the night to take blood. The meat they serve was a mystery. The vegetables and deserts were ok. The nurses were nice. There was no watchable programs on tv. It's a rehab facility and all she got was 15 minutes a day. She was expected to do things herself. read more

My father in law fell and broke his hip. This center is very attentive. The staff was nice, professional and accommodating. The PT staff helped him get much stronger. He was regularly showered, shaved and changed clothes. He loves the food at this place!!! He fell again and we are at a new facility and it's terrible. They are so short staffed here. It's impossible to get a nurse to help my Mom. The only good thing about this place is the therapists that come to do physical and occupational therapy. The doctors come once a week to check on my mom. The nurses are so short staffed, my moms diaper gets checked twice a day. It's so sad. I would recommend going to a different rehab center. They don't have 24/7 care, and they only have one CNA at night and 3 LVNs taking care of 20+ patients.... and this place is so expensive too!! 5k per month for assisted living and 14k for acute patients.. wow. What a nightmare. It's also really dirty here too, they don't clean as often as they should. It also smells really bad too. It's disgusting. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The nurse left my mom unattended in the hallway and my mother fell to the ground and nobody was around to help her! But luckily my dad came in time to rush her to the ER. None of the nurses apologized for what they did! How negligent of this place!! It breaks my heart to see nurses and facility directors not care about their patients. read more

I have been visiting someone in the sub-acute section every weekend for over a year. I have found the whole staff to be very friendly and helpful. They are always ready to answer questions and do whatever is asked to help in the healing and rehab process. I would recommend the facility to anyone seeking rehab from a hospital visit. read more

Horrible care. I went to visit my grandma and she was placed in a room with three other people and while i was there i heard one lady call out for a nurse to help her pee for over 30 mins. It took that long for someone to come in and help. Every time i visit a ton of staff are just chit chatting while i hear patients calling for help, and the nurses tell the patients that they are busy. They tell my grandma when PT will visit and she says they never come when they're supposed to, sometimes they don't even show up. This center is the most unprofessional i have ever experienced. They are pushing my grandma to be released even though she is still healing from surgery and hasn't improved in PT. The nurses also inserted my grandma's catheter wrong causing her to bleed so much she had to get surgery. Do not let the kaiser hospital send your family members here. It's obviously just for profit and they don't really care about their patients. read more

I was just here for a week and a half but you can feel the positive vibes and friendliness of the staff especially Cassandra who is welcoming and cordial at the onset. The Physical Therapy staff here are very friendly, courteous, considerate and attentive to your needs. My grandmother who is 100+ receives excellent long-term care from the staff at Gladstone Care & Rehabilitation Center. I am so grateful they kept her safe during covid! Currently, visitors need to make appointments to see loved ones and this helps ensure that covid safety protocols are followed. I would like to thank everyone at Gladstone Rehab from the bottom of my heart for the care they gave me! My physical therapy was for two weeks and each day, every one was very welcoming! From Cassandra, in the front office who took my vitals, and greeted me each day. To Junior, Jaja and Justin the therapist who helped me with my recovery. Junior, you taught me so much about exercise and stretching. Jaja, who gave me my neurostimulation and ice packs. Justin, for always asking how I was doing and feeling. You all are so caring, compassionate, and were interested in my needs. Vicky, who was such a sweetheart, who helped me with brain challenging games, that helped me as well! I would highly recommend their facility! Disinfecting everything after every use, clean and bright! Sadly I have to say goodbye, as my therapy is over. But I am now pain free! We have attended Gladstone Outpatient Rehab Center for stroke rehabilitation for my husband. We have come across the most caring and knowledgeable therapists which has help my husband recovery immensely. Before, we were getting out patient therapy in Baldwin Park Kaiser, but due to therapist schedules we were seen 1 to 2xs a month. Since this is a new stroke, and I am a therapist myself, I was very concerned with the lack of therapy provided. Kaiser offered Gladstone Out Patient Rehab, starting in January as an option. We have been attending there and with a very knowledgeable Physical Therapist, Khristine, we have seen a great improvement. Home program discussed and therapy like I remember giving when I was working, so many years ago. I want to thank also Sharline and JaJa, Sharline has been working with my husband since Khristine does not come in anymore. Wish Gladstone could bottle up Khristine, I would consider her therapy and knowledge of stroke superb at Gladstone, both watching her with my husband and with a few other of the stroke patient attending while my husband was there. Thank you, Gladstone OP Rehab, as the treatments He has received there has improved our lives, and have given me hope, when I felt hopeless and overwhelmed with the drastic change in our lives. I have seen the care all three women, JaJa, Sharline and Khristine give their patients and the compassion. I would recommend Gladstone, just wish the one therapist, Khrisitne was still working in OP. My Father was there for 6wks to rehab his back from surgery he said they would wake him up in the middle of the night poking him and moving him around while he was in pain. My mom was discharged to this facility for a few days of care. She told me a staff member there treated her rudely and handled her roughly..my mom is 84 and very fragile.. she also said she left her there without assisting in feeding her when my mom needed help opening her juice the animal lady told her to do it herself and my mom went hungry and thirsty...I'm taking mom back so she can pin point that beast so I can give her a piece of my mind. This rehab facility has an amazing staff. The physical therapy staff is wonderful. From Randy, to Robert, to Edgar, they are ALL very caring. The nurses are great too and always listened to my family's concerns. My mom's CNA Wati was just an Angel. My mother went into this facility not able to walk, eat, or barely talk. The staff was very caring, and rehabilitated her to a state where she was able to walk again, and back to her own self. Unfortunately she got sick again, and had to go back to the hospital. We wanted her to come back to this facility, but they had no rooms available. The only minor issue at this rehab is that it does need to be updated and remodeled. If you want the best care for your loved ones, this is the place to send them! read more

My Dad was transferred there from the hospital, even tho it will be hard to have him home. I don't trust this place, you have to make an appointment to visit at least 24 hours in advance and I understand they want to be safe but they have more precautions than the hospital and you can only visit 30 minutes and only 1 visit a day. My biggest complaint is while my friend was dying and yelling help me I can't breathe; not a whole lot was done or I felt more should have been happening to ease his discomfort for it was horrible for me to watch and I felt so painfully helpless. Most stood around waiting for him to die it appeared. I could not stand the horrors and was told I could reject Hospice and call for an ambulance which was the best information I could have been given and did call only for him to die shortly after arrival at the hospital but at least ER was trying to assist him with his dying and discomfort. MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT: I paid over $5,000 when my friend entered the facility; he staid one week and I was due a refund. Numerous calls have been made to Mr. Marino who constantly lies to me telling me the refund check was sent out first one date and then another. It is going on three months since my friend died and I am still being lied to telling me the last check was mailed out Monday afternoon and by Thursday no check has shown up. I would not do business with Mr. Marino for I found him to be a liar and dishonest and has put me through a lot besides the tragedy of how my friend died; and most likely more to come in order to receive my refund or overpayment which has forced me to write this review in the hopes that Mr. Marino reads this and sends me a check. SINCE WRITING THIS REVIEW. A CHECK WAS RECEIVED TODAY, 12/9/17 FOR THE REFUND. MY FRIEND ENTERED THE FACILITY 9/11/17. Terrible place, please do not send your loved ones there. The patients are ignored if they are unable to communicate, the nurses have to poor attitudes, extremely short staffed, ignorant drs., my mom was left with no blanket on bed and was freezing. I am looking into malpractice on them for failing to see she was bleeding, and mis diagnosed her, even tho we told them what was happening with her health. The care staff only show when visitors come to visit their loved ones then they are gone. Worst place i have seen in a long time. they have a permanent sign,,always looking for nurses. shame on them. not worth a tenth of a star. read more

My Father stayed at this facility for 1month after suffering a severe stroke. It was extremely devestating for my family and I. When we 1st came here with our dad we were so helpless and felt guilty for leaving him here not knowing what would become of him. Well rest assured that leaving ur loved one here is a good decision. My Father has improved a lot from when we 1st brought him here. Randy & Robert have helped my dad tremendously with physical therapy and worked their butts off to get my dad to take his 1st few steps. Randy has helped my dad tremendously with his P.T. recovery i can't thank him enough! The speech pathologist gentleman is phenomenal and has also worked closely with my father and his hard work has not been unnoticed by us. We came here every day to spend time with my dad and this facility has truly done a good job. It is very clean, the nurses Loata, Estela, Tim, Flor, Erika, & Joanna they work very hard and in my opinion deserve a raise ...this facility would not be what it is with out these wonderful people. I also would like to thank Barbara & Serina for putting up with me and all of my constant questions. They have also helped with the ease of the transition from Gladstones to home. I'm gonna miss driving here and visiting with the residents and nurses.
