Purchased a furniture item (tv stand) and discovered after delivery left that the shelf for holding equipment was missing. Immediately contacted customer service and was told they have a policy that a missing part has to go through parts reorder which might take months (plural). In the meantime time they have the item in stock but refuse to pull the part or exchange the furniture. I would be vey embarrassed to have to work in their customer service or sales department. In the meantime, we have to stack our electronic equipment risking overheating or damage. Insane that I have to escalate this issue over a $400 purchase. It's been a week and 4 calls. So now I wait to see if I hear back from the "manager." This isn't a complicated problem to solve. The employees and customers deserve better. read more

Terrible experience, I purchase lazy boy couch and loveseat for almost $5800. The furniture needed to be exchanged due to broken/bend frame and other quality issues. The furniture was attempted to be delivery 2 times, both times with same issues. I then asked to return the items and get a refund. It has been over 2 1/2 weeks for the refund. First the refund was not submitted, then my card has supposedly expired, not the case. Now I have to drive to the store 1/2 hours each way, about 20 miles one way, to swipe my card to get the refund processed. I would never buy from them again read more

I needed new furniture because I had none. Kristy was my salesperson and she was great. She did not hound me. She introduced herself and gave me time to browse. When I was ready she worked with me and told me all about the furniture I was looking at. I'm so happy with the service and the lack of pressure. A couple weeks ago, a piece of my leather sectional arrived damaged. They replaced it and that one was damaged too. Now we're told a new one won't be in stock until mid/late February (a month away). This would be fine, but Gardner White is unwilling to make a trip out to our house to collect the damaged furniture before the new one arrives. Instead, they expect us to store the damaged piece of furniture in our garage until then, so now I can't park my car in my garage during this terrible winter weather... We asked if we could bring the damaged furniture back to the store ourselves, they said no. ?? Cannot wrap my mind around why they think it's our responsibility to store their damaged furniture. We were very excited for our new/expensive couch, and this has been extremely frustrating. My fiancé and I are in our 20s, and Gardner White could've had a lifetime of our business, but we likely will not be back after this. read more

This place is the worst for shopping furniture. I was looking to furnish my apartment but every 5 minutes there was a salesman breathing down my neck, asking questions, and trying to sell a product. I would return if I felt I could shop without the pressure and having to run from salesman! I arrived at the store and was greeted by a salesperson. I explained I just moved to Michigan and needed a bed for my apartment that night. he assured me he could deliver. I made the purchase, he explained the comms that would occur with the delivery team and I left. I received no comms and eventually called the contact number and was told that the delivery would not happen that night. I advised the contact that I have to have it that night. she agreed that she will contact the delivery team and my sales associate and call me back. after no one called me back, I had to check into a hotel for the night. the next day, I still don't have any contact with anyone. very disappointed and I will be cancelling my order and going somewhere else. read more

We've shopped at Gardner White in Howell on three separate occasions. Each occasion we were treated extremely well. We bought a beautiful king mattress, a leather sofa and recliner, and on our third visit we ordered a sectional and coffee table. The coffee table had to be replaced but they did so with no questions asked. I would recommend Gardner White in Howell to anyone. read more

Don't shop here. Bought a brand new couch that they had to make because they didn't have it on the floor. It's a manual recliner, there is a space between the back pieces. They said it's under the thresh hold of needing to be fixed. So they will not do anything about it . I spent a lot of money on this couch and they are not willing fix it. BEWARE!!! Free delivery is a joke!! The salesman said that with free delivery they would deliver and put in foyer but not in the room where we wanted and they wouldn't remove packaging!!! They delivered over $5000 in cream colored half wrapped furniture in the rain to my side walk and left! Called store and the girl was rude and argued with me no manager ever reached out nothing! We had to find people to help move it in! Sent corporate an email she called Monday but only apologized said it was a teaching moment WTF???? I will never purchase from Gardener white again!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Once you get the product they don't want to give you the customer service they did at the beginning. I had a couch, dining table, coffee table and 2 end tables delivered to my condo on 11/27. I was not living in it yet, so when I arrived 11/29 due to Thanksgiving, I see that the coffee table & end tables don't fit. With the tags still on them, I immediately called the store to be told under no uncertain terms there's a 25% restocking fee even though a technician has to come out to repair part of the sofa already! ZERO stars - HORRIBLE!!! Garner White is so crooked they should be avoided AT ALL COSTS! Garner White not only scammed us with their deceptive "Pledge" which basically does not allow the mattress to be returned without HUGE penalties and NO price delta for a less expensive mattress, but also burned us on the "Lowest Price or its Free" lie. Two weeks after we bought the Tempur-Pedic Lux Breeze Hybrid mattress, the price dropped by $500. Garner White would not even honor their own price reductions for the Tempur-Pedic mattress or anyone else's, which everyone else would honor. And then to make matters worse, we went to the Tempur-Pedic store and they told us to ABSOLUTELY NOT use the Garner White mattress cover that we were REQUIRED to buy in order to get their (GW) warranty. Tempur-Pedic said the GW mattress cover would completely negate the cooling performance of the Lux Breeze mattress - the sole purpose anyone would even think about buying this mattress. The Tempur-Pedic mattress already comes standard with a good mattress protector that can be removed and thrown in the washer. And of course we cannot return the GW mattress protector to Garner White because they don't accept returns on bedding, even if it is ruining the performance of the mattress. Tempur-Pedic already honors the warranty for 10 years. RUN AWAY from Garner White!!! Go directly to Tempur-Pedic or Mattress Firm or anyone else but this horrible company. read more
