We showed up without an appointment and after sitting down with Realtor Mike Moss to discuss what…read morewe were looking for in buying a house in SLO, hired him as our agent. Mike was very patient working with us as we were not yet focused on a specific area in the county. After many months and trips to view potential houses in Los Osos, Morro Bay and SLO, we finally narrowed the focus on SLO City. We then toured various neighborhoods until we found a couple of areas to really focus on. Mike was patient, thoughtful and helpful all throughout this process and when we found the house for us, he was instrumental in our plan of making a successful offer and getting us through escrow. Can't say enough about Mike and how professional and personable he was throughout the process. He made the stressful process of finding and buying a home so much easier! Highly recommend Mike Moss and Comet Realty!

I would never recommend renting with Comet Realty under any circumstance, especially if Courtney…read moreHuckabay is your realtor. Over the two years that I rented a property from her, she was unprofessional, uncommunicative, rude, and overall unhelpful. When I moved out, she messed up the deposits between me and my roomate, resulting in large sums of money being sent to the wrong people. During my time renting through Comet Realty, Courtney yelled at two of the tenants over the phone for calling with some simple questions about the property, demanded we renew our lease in a very short amount of time, refused to fix two of the appliances that came with the house, and refused to help after making mistakes concerning our security deposits. If you are thinking of renting through Comet Realty, I would suggest you seek elsewhere, or at least stay far away from Courtney Huckabay.

We read all the awful reviews, and signed anyways. It was a low price compared to other locations…read moreand close to campus. Parking was a non issue. There were some broken things inside (couple refrigerator drawers, and a torn section of the carpet) and upon walk thru, they had someone come out and fix it prior to moving in. The call to maintenance for some sink issues got sorted out quickly, we got charged, but it was due to one of the roommates having a fork jammed down in the disposal. The charge was low and made sense. Upon moving out, took about 3-4 weeks to get deposit back, but they had been communicated to us at move out. Got full deposit back. Place felt safe. Laundry was alright - little rough on the clothes but fine. To me, 4 stars: opted for an apartment building with lower rent and got what we paid for. Got help when needed. Got deposit back.

Awful company. Please please read the reviews before renting from these people…read more Awful communication, unprofessional customer service and extremely rude. Three separate times had maintenance men enter my apartment unannounced, company never did anything to soothe the issue. Property upkeep was never attended too, laundry room door broken for 2 months, rats etc running around the complex flooding multiple times from busted water heaters, would take months to solve any issue even though rent was over 2000 dollars. I've warned all friends and family to not rent from this company. I'm astonished staff has not improved at all after reading months into these reviews what a poor company!

I like to think I'm a somewhat mature student past the 21-crazy-age-stage going to school,…read morestudying, and working a local job. I'll try to be as unbiased as possible (unless stated) to just give the facts about these apartments for all you potentials out there. Pros: 1. It's super close to campus. It takes me 11 minutes each day to walk out my front door and into my classroom door in the Education building second story. 16 minutes door to door to the Bonderson Project Building. And I live in the back corner of the condo complex. My roommates ride bikes and I'm sure it cuts that time into a fourth. 2. Some may consider this a con, but management is somewhat strict about having parties in Pine Creek. Small gathering sure, but if they get tipped off about a party, they leave everyone a friendly warning note and then crack down if nobody listens. Cons: 1. The train that comes through honking it's horn at ungodly hours...and that means ANY time of the day or night. But I guess if it prevents a death then sure. Doesn't bother me too much if I'm already passed out. 2. Depends more on what side of the complex that you live on, but pretty much you'll either be bordering a railroad track or a different apartment complex. The other apartment complexes get super loud pretty much every night of the week with parties and gatherings. If one party group moves out of the apartment, another seems to move in. Mostly only an issue for the rooms that face the back of the complex. 3. Parking sucks. Each apartment gets ONE pass for the lot and has a garage way. For most apartments with four people, that means one person has to find parking on some other street a block away. For us, we happen to be able to fit three compact cars into our single lane garage thanks to an extended fire lane. Basically though, single lane garages themselves just suck for many reasons. Notes: 1. Each condo is privately owned by a different person (managed by a company I believe to enforce the rules). Thus each condo has it's own characteristics. Ie the third story might be either a loft or an actual room...who knows?! Some of the places are decorated and fixed up super nice. Some have carpets that could definitely use changing. 2. First floor gets pretty cold in winter, and third floor room/loft gets pretty hot since all the heat rises (and might have the boiler in the closet). If you have loud roommates and don't want to listen to them, the first floor is probably the most secluded (ours even has its own bathroom/shower). Overall, this place isn't that bad to live at, especially if you want to be close to campus. But I've had much better. Plus my bias is that I normally prefer households to apartments/condos.

I don't usually write Yelp reviews but my experience with Farrell Smyth and Pine Creek was so…read morehorrible that I thought I'd share. First off, if you do decide to live in these apartments do yourself a favor and find one that is privately owned so you do not have to go through FS. From the day we moved into our apartment everything was falling apart. All of our kitchen appliances were from the seventies and therefore were barely usable. Our garbage disposal broke almost every week which would leave our sink overflowing and our entire kitchen smelling like rotting food. We had water damage on our ceiling that no one ever dealt with. Towards the end of the year our apartment was infested with mice. We called FS every week but they would just forward us to maintenance and then no one would ever show up. They refused to pay for traps so we had to buy them ourselves. We also had bats living in our roof by our deck and no one, not one person, showed up to deal with them despite the fact that we also called out this multiple times. The bats would leave feces all over our deck, you can get lung cancer from that shit. They charge you way too much money for how much of a shithole it is. Yes, the apartments are close to campus but honestly, I would rather live somewhere farther and clean, than in some dirty animal infested apartment. Trust me when I say that if you talk to anyone about Farrell Smyth they will only have negative things to say about them.
