I did, however, have to make multiple rest stops because I was dying lol. View was gorgeous and the picture does not do justice. There were maybe 3 other small groups when we got there but we were so spread apart that we didn't run into each other. On the way back down, I had a mishap and my shoelace hoop hooked onto my other shoes hook and I took a nice fall. It was my mistake and not the trails. I didn't even try to fix my mistake because as we were nearing the parking lot, I tripped again (same reason) and I fell on the rocks right before the asphalt. We had a good laugh. The employee who was on the golf cart was on his way back and saw me on the ground. He kindly asked if I needed help but I was too busy laughing and embarrassed that I declined his help. This will definitely be a memory to remember!

Definitely bring water with you as there are no water spouts/fountains on any of the trails. Closed toed shoes are a must as possion ivy is present along with blackberry bushes. Most of the trails provide plentry of shade and pretty foliage. Views of the whole Napa Valley await you at the top (with a couple of benches to take a nice rest). Some days a layer of fog will sit above the valley but that usually burns off by late morning. You'll come across lots of dogs and kids so this place is good for all.

It's a beautiful hike filled with dense forest and streams. It's a fairly easy hike, well kept, with stairs at most of the steep paths, very narrow at spots and a lot of poison oak/Ivy off the sides of the path. Located on the Bartholomew Winery, a private park with hours from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM when the main gate gets locked (big sign). There is plenty of free parking. My friend and I walked the trail around 1:30 PM. on a Wednesday. We only saw one other hiker the whole time, so nice, so peaceful, we had the whole forest to ourselves. LOL there was a warning sign for Mountain Lions, we did not see or hear anything, only the birds and the stream. I would definitely recommend this trail and I would come back to walk it again.

They have two sand volleyball pits, public bathroom, lots of picnic tables, lots of green grass and lots of trees. There's also a trail for hiking and it's dog friendly. We threw down a blanket and took a catnap in the shade under the trees and when my dog got bored, we watched the volleyballers battle it out a ways away. They have a decent sized parking lot available, with additional parking in a smaller lot just up the road closer to the baseball diamond.

I noticed a lot of the negative reviews are about the water quality. This is not a pool, so the water is not clear; it has vegetation; and stocked fish control for mosquitoes. Since we already read about this online, we were neither surprised nor grossed out. It was a fun day outdoors! The office staff were super warm, hospitable, and accommodating. Even as we added to our food order last minute (because I saw how active the kids were being... they were ravenous!), they flexed with our request. The pizza was hot; the fruit was refreshing. We felt so well cared for! Safety-wise, I'm glad we brought older kids, mostly very strong swimmers, and vigilant parents. The course is large, and there are spots that are invisible from the lifeguards' posts. We had to initiate with the lifeguards a few times because they weren't giving us any information/direction. (eg: Can we start? Where do we start? Any rules we need to know? Are you still on break, or can we go in again?) They did not seem to have a system for the lifejackets. They were sleepy and eager to clock out. This is the first open weekend of the season; I trust they will establish consistent group protocols as the summer goes on. I took him away and put him where he belonged. I had three kids with me all different ages and heights. We absolutely love it. The splash pad for the younger kids is really awesome with a waterslide that's perfect for youngsters! That waterslide is so much fun and these little ones have a blast! I highly recommend!

The first time was back in 2006, but I didn't review it back then. Went back today, Sat 1/16/10 so I could see it again & review it. We left Fmt and got to the meeting spot of the guided hike in 1hr20min. We meet in the Target's parking lot on Trancas Rd. They have 2 flush toilets w/ tp in outhouses down the hill by the picnic tables. We started hiking about 9:30am and finished about 2pm for a 7-mi loop hike. We did Maggie's Peak which is on private land. It's pretty steep, nice views on the top. Then we go down & hike on the side of the cliff, cross creeks, go down more steep & slippery rocks on not really a trail - just sides of the cliff. Saw the bottom of Devil's Well - nice waterfall, then climb a bit and see Devil's Well - you see a nice tall waterfall, and a middle waterfall that you can barely see. There's a rock scramble they call the Jumble that is a bit tough, but doable. Tons & tons of ladybugs when we went Sat 1/16/10. Ladybugs seem to like creeks & open area where they can get sun. The trail also splits off to Maher Street, a very short distance away, and leads you to a separate bike path. There are no public bathrooms here unless you use the community center. Basically a wise use of green space for the local community as the photos/video attached attest.
