At this time she is on my Pacific Source network. Assistant Megan (sp?) was thorough and proficient. Dr. McChesney pleasant and professional. The front office staff was professional and courteous. Waiting room was fabulous, plenty of seating. I went in on Monday the receptionist and nurse were very kind and the nurse took an exray and said the dentist would be in in a few mins. He literally came in looked in my mouth stood up said I am making an appt. with so and so in Astoria and left, nothing else no explanation, nothing! . He was there possibly one minute! I was in shock and asked the nurse is he not removing my tooth? She said I guess not and I asked why and she said she did not know. The other dentist appt. was two weeks out so here I am in the same place as when I called Tykila's office in horrible pain having to wait. The only thing I can think of is on the information paperwork they have you fill out it asks if you have ever had problems and I put yes with feeling like I was having a panic attack after they gave me the Novocain shot and felt like I could not swallow. Any way I would not ever go back to his office again after the way he treated me. I asked again on my way out and was paying the bill why he would not pull the tooth and they either would not say or did not know. It was just weird, and if the reason was because of the problem I had stated on the info sheet why wouldn't they have said something before I had the xray and they should have read the info sheet before they took the xray and before the dentist would see me. I had to pay for an xray and the office visit with nothing to show for it ? I went online as I knew I would not be able to wait two weeks because of the pain and found Emergency Tooth Doctor in Vancouver, WA (about an hourand forty min. drive from where we live, I was skeptical thinking it was probably not the best place to go) to my surprise they could give me a Saturday appointment so my husband could be there to drive me there and back as I would need medication to put me at ease. To my surprise this was the best experience I have ever had at a dentist office ever, and it wasn't a hard tooth to pull she said. I won't go on about her as she is not the one I am reviewing. And by the way I am almost 70 yrs old, I didn't have a gross mouth of rotten teeth, I am not someone down on my luck (in other words I had money to pay then and there), I am just an older woman who needed a tooth extracted so I could be out of pain . Then she nudged her partner sitting next to her to get her to agree that she saw me do that. Then she said I had been rude to the doctor previously. I was shocked! I didn't believe this because I really like this doctor and I asked them to show me their notes indicating that I had been rude. They would not let me see them. I called to set up a cleaning and check up as a new patient and did not find out until I was at the office that they don't do cleaning on the first visit. I stopped by the office weeks prior to fill out paperwork to have my dental records released from my previous dentist, yet they didn't have it during my visit and were trying to call the other office while I was there (closed due to East Coast time difference). My biggest annoyance was getting the runaround when I had a discrepancy with a bill. Before I got a cavity filled, I signed off on the amount due and paid it on my way out. I get a bill saying a owe more, call the office about it and the receptionist said she would have someone call me back. No call back. So I visit in person a few weeks later, where the receptionist agreed about the discrepancy and told me the finance person would call me. No call. It took a third attempt (and telling them to put me on hold because I didn't want to wait for a call back) to finally get the discrepancy settled.

I got there and was a little nervous but was kind of calmed by the beautiful River views. it is a little confusing when you first get there to find parking and then figure out that you have to go up the stairs to get to the dentist. I might have just been confused because it was early morning, and early morning me is easy to confuse. I arrived early for my appointment and was seen earlier than my appointment was scheduled to start, which was really nice. I feel like every appointment I've ever had never starts on time so it was a nice surprise. The hygentist was sweet and joked with me which made me feel at ease. When the dentist came in the actual exam went quick. I was surprised to learn that I did have to make two separate appointments for my next procedures that needed to be done. Which were just a cleaning and to fix a fractured tooth. But everyone was really nice and made me feel at ease after the horror I anticipated from not going to the dentist for 25 years. I do have to add that I didn't have any cavities and I'm really proud of myself for that. Haha I mean it's a dentist. It's hard to give them five stars cause it's not a pleasant experience to begin with. But everyone was nice, no one judged and everything went smoothly. I feel like that's all you can really ask for when it comes to Dr/dentist appointments.
