Recently I had a surprising and satisfying experience at L & D Race Tech. A few years ago, I purchased a power washer from these folks. One of the selling points was that the pump was superior to other brands. After minimal usage, the pump failed. There were some delays initially in addressing my problem (mostly due to Covid) but ultimately I couldn't have asked for a better resolution. After spending hours on the phone with all parties involved, Don (the owner) decided to spare me the suspense and REPLACED my washer! At the time, he hadn't been able to resolve the issue to the point of being reimbursed, still he placed my need ahead of his financial gain. And not for a customer that does a lot of business in his store. My contribution to their success is microscopic. I highly recommend Don and his personable and helpful staff and will continue to shop there. Talk about an absolutely perfect buying experience, this dealership excels at customer service. I was initially greeted by the owner, Don Hall who is an absolute gentleman, tells it like it is, and very down to earth. I had my eye on a street-oriented dual-sport (a la Beemer F800 or Triumph Tiger) but noticed a hardly used 2015, KTM 1190 adventure sitting on the lot. I did have my own reservations about how road-worthy this machine would be since 80% of my riding would be on pavement. Don completely put me at ease by allowing me to take the machine out for "an hour or two". The doubts I had about the 1190's capability on the tarmac vanished in about 15 minutes! Describing this machine as a modern engineering marvel with a wicked-fast power plant, balanced with great mid-range and low-end torque plus state-of-the-art electronics is actually an understatement. (ABS, traction control, rain, street and dirt modes plus electronic suspension!) Oh, I guess I forgot to mention the top end.... Can you say rocket fuel?!?! Once I was sold on the machine, I became sold on this dealership. It's apparent that Don's customer-focused philosophy and warm nature is shared with all of the employees: Lindsey is about as pleasant and helpful as they come. Justin and Brandon are knowledgeable and eager to help with anything from suspension modifications to maintenance expectations, etc. Adam is a young mechanic that's also extremely capable, helpful & smart well beyond his years. Don gave me a fair price for my trade-in and offered the 1190 at a very reasonable price at the same time. He even sweetened the deal with some nice accessories. I asked for a couple of suspension mods and they handled and executed my request brilliantly. These folks sell KTM, Husqvarna and Arctic Cat. If you have ever thought about, or have been curious about the latest technology in motorcycles and quads, set your mind at ease and visit these great motorcycle people. I was in the market for a new Husqvarna Svartpilen and called them up. Everyone I talked to on the phone were very knowledgeable and friendly. I had worked another motorsport dealership in Hillsboro and that group treated me with no respect. With D and L, every time I called, someone answered. When I picked up the motorcycle the finance people were super helpful at explaining all the details. And the maintenance guy came out to go over all the special features of the motorcycle. While on a recent solo cross-country ride, riding backroads and camping, late one afternoon in southern Washington, I noticed the rear tire on my Kaw Concours was out of rubber, showing a 12" x 2" white strip of the cords. Whipping out my cell phone, I called a nearby motorcycle shop, but they didn't have the tire I needed in stock. They recommended I call L&D in Warrenton. I called and confirmed that they had the tire. I told them I would be there in about an hour. When I arrived an hour later, they immediately wrote up the work order for a tire and oil change, and pulled the bike into their shop. Within an hour the work was done and I was back on the road in search of a campsite for the night. The folks at L & D Race Tech provided great service and were a life saver for me. read more
