Came here to see Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors which is/was playing for 6 months at the Garner. It was interesting! I love how many spaces are in the DCPA family. The theater itself is very intimate. My friend and I were seated next to the A/V booth, which is always fun. Someone behind me was making obnoxious commentary, and I wish they would have been a little more respectful of their neighbors, but overall it was a decent experience. I didn't check out the bar, but the restrooms were fine. I would come back again to watch another show! read more

I have been to most all the theaters in the complex and this is by far my favorite. There are tables for two or four people throughout as well as "bar" seating in between sections. Seating began 30 minutes before the show. There were accessible bathrooms available. The staff was welcoming and pleasant. My husband and I came to see Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. We had the bar-like seating which provides space for a beverage. We both got a glass of cabernet to enjoy during the performance. I did notice they have a small menu as well, but we had just come from dinner. The stage comes right up to the first row of tables which makes it a more intimate theater experience. The show itself was great! We thoroughly enjoyed it, laughing throughout. I would come see a production at this theater again. read more

The son of one of my BFF's was performing in Dracula so of course we had to see the show. It was one of the best shows I've seen and the actors were excellent- each playing multiple parts. I really needed a good laugh and this show provided it. Out of all the times I've been to the DCPA, I've never been to the Galleria Theater before. It's a smaller venue and there's not a bad seat. They have a bar and snacks in the small lobby and a few tables. There are servers that bring drinks or food to your seat if you want something for the show. The only downside was that the seats weren't very comfortable and they're really close together. But for just a couple of hours it's ok. All in all it was a great afternoon and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. read more

The Garner Galleria is a staple of the DCPA complex. It hosts a wide variety of smaller shows that have months-long runs. It's a quaint place with a smaller stage and convention center chairs. You are offered bar and snack services from your seats or can order from the main bar. I enjoy going to shows at the Garner Galleria as I know I'm not in for the mass amounts of people the other stages in the DCPA offer. The one thing that remains constant at the Galleria is the sewer smell. Upon walking in, it hits you right in the nose. The smell does dispute once in the theater but the lobby reeks and has so for many years. Other than the smell, the staff are fantastic and the bar service is spot on. This space is great for a more intimate setting to experience live theater. Looking forward to going again regardless of smell. read more

Be prepared for two hours of discomfort. The seats could not be more uncomfortable. Did anyone try sitting in one for an extended period of time? The sound is quite loud, and almost intolerable if you are seated by a speaker. When we asked if the sound could be lowered while the theatre was empty the sound engineers just scoffed at us. What a fun and intimate space. Came here for the first time to see A Secret Comedy of Women and I'm so glad we did because the show was relatable, hilarious and so much fun. The seats did feel a little cramped, but overall it was comfortable and any seat is great for viewing the stage. The ushers and staff were all very kind and helpful. They even opened the men's restroom to women because of how little males were in attendance. We did have a little snafu with our waitress. We ordered drinks at intermission and she couldn't remember what table we were at to bring our drinks. At the end of the show, my mom had to track down a manager to get her credit card back. In the end, everyone was very apologetic and we weren't charged anything, so really it wasn't that big of a deal. All in all, I would attend a show here again and look forward to seeing what's in store here in the future. read more

I had no idea this place existed until a friend invited me here for a show. It is small and quaint, but it is a really neat venue! Upon entering, there is a small concession area where you can purchase snacks, drinks, or alcoholic beverages. They are basically the same snacks and drinks as the Buell Theater. There isn't much space to just hang out or stand around though. You eventually go down a small hallway and an attendant checks your ticket and then you are led to a seat. I love the seating arrangements. We were sat at a small round table with 2 chairs. I liked the intimacy and privacy of having our own table and the fact that we were not sat arm to arm. The seating gradually increases in height so you can clearly see the stage and nobody is blocking your view. They have a server who discretely comes around during the show to see if you need anything, which is a nice touch. The stage is small but well-lit, and no matter where you sit in this theater, you have a good view of everyone on it. We saw Miss Rhythm, which had an interesting storyline and the main character did a wonderful job of entertaining the crowd. I will definitely see a show here again! read more

As venues go, this is way, way, way (yes 3 "ways") better than most of them. Compared to larger venues (like the Buell) this room is much less stuffy, less crowded, and is more intimate and interactive. I do not think there is a bad seat in the house. During the last show I saw, I sat dead center of the first raised section. This was an ideal vantage point. Contrasting this to regular comedy clubs, you are not jammed elbow to elbow in too small of a space, wondering if they REALLY needed to bolt the chairs to the ground?(Yes, I mean you Comedy Works downtown). In addition, they do not seem to be gouging on the drink prices here. The non-alcoholic selections (water, soda) are quite reasonably priced. I have had both very good service, and pretty good service here. That is one area with some slight room for improvement. read more

I really like this venue. It is great for comedy shows that the Buell is not really good for viewing or hearing. I saw Dixie (very entertaining) and Yippe ki yay (wonderful!) here. It's worth it to book early and get the first 3 or 4 rows of stage side seating. read more

This is a great little theater for smaller shows. We've seen Dixie's Tupperware party (our favorite one here), Defending the Caveman and most recently, An Act of God. There literally isn't a bad seat in the house. You can order food and drinks at your seat which I'm not a fan of as it is distracting during a show and makes it feel more like a dinner theater. With that being said, its a nice night/afternoon out at the theater. read more

I love this little theatre and the gutsy, irreverent humor that they bring to the stage wiith each different show they produce. I especially like how they transform the venue into a different environment with each show. The entire theatre becomes a prop, complete with the types of food & drink they serve. The staff are always on top of things here, and friendly, friendly, friendly. We scored tickets for the Doyle & Debbie show and had a blast. I even got to get my picture taken with Doyle (while yodeling)... We attended "An Intimate Evening with David Sedaris" last night at Garner Galleria, and they sure hit the nail on the head with that event name. The theater seats only a couple hundred people - for Sedaris, there were several full rows of seats set up in front followed by a few rows of two-tops (with a very small table between each set of seats). Seating was those cushioned stackable chairs, so comfortable enough. This is one of the DCPA's smallest spaces, so you'll have a decent seat no matter where you're at. We were about halfway back, and had no problem observing the author's facial expressions and gestures. They've got a nice bar in the lobby, but (for this performance at least) you are not allowed to bring your drink into the theater - not even a bottled water. Just FYI. :) read more

Just saw "The Doyle and Debbie Show" here last Tuesday, and it was fantastic. I'm not a theater fan, but this show had me laughing the whole time. The theater is a good size for this type of show, and you can order drinks right from your chair. The staff was really nice, and made the venue that much better. read more

4.07.16 went to a show courtesy of YelpDenver Saw the Never Wear a Tube Top while Riding a Mechanical Bull with Dixie It was a fun 90 min show. It had its dry moments but loved some of her bits. She engaged the audience all 90 min and LOVED when she picked on the crowd. She had great life lessons and advice. If you sit near the stage she will utilize the crowd & you may get invited to the honky tonk. This theater is small, intimate and definitely worth going to a show here. There is a bar out front and the servers are all accommodating. I recently had a foot surgery & the staff made sure to help me out and have a seat where I could elevate my foot. Lucky us, it wasn't sold out and there was an entire empty row in front of us so I could rest my foot up. They serve drinks and light snacks. Price ranges from $6-13. SMALL bag of Popcorn is $5. Parking is about $10. I usu grab HH or dinner at The Corner Office before watching a show at this theater. read more

I got tickets from the Yelp Elite Community Manager, Kendall, for Dixies's Never Wear a Tube Top While Wearing A Tube Top. No pressure to write a review for the tickets, I just want to share my awesome experience. First, the theater. It's a really intimate setting in a small theater. It's perfect. Didn't seem like you could have a bad seat in the house. The bar is open before the show so you are welcome to carry in the beer or wine purchased from the bar. Once seated, there is table service and the waitresses was efficient without being disruptive to the show. The menu prices are reasonable at $4-6 or so for beers and wines and $4-7 for snacks. The negative, I wish the menu selection on snacks was a bit wider. I don't drink much due to my low alcohol tolerance and I enjoy maybe half a bottle of beer at most or just share sips from the hubby. Snacks were such things like brownies (cold...I ordered these), rice krispie treat of some kind, something that sounded like chex mix, etc. I didn't take off any stars for this because this isn't a restaurant or just a bar. Not a big deal. I was taken back because I was used to comedy show theaters like this one that served bar food snacks like fries or wings. On to Dixie's show with the really long name...it was just wonderful! It's not stand up comedy but rather a comedy skit that is interactive. She has scene set up in a honky tonk and talks to you about her life experiences and lessons learned while drinking. It's funny and actually inspiring. Haha. Yes, inspiring. Not like a spiritual awakening but really uplifting. She has a positive message to share about not being total d$&ks to each other while managing to be pretty darn hilarious. All in all, a very enjoyable night out. I'm going to buy a tiara. Go see the show, you'll know what I mean. read more

The very first show I saw at the DCPA was actually "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" at the Garner Galleria Theatre many moons ago. At that time, and to this day I love the cozy, intimate feel of this theatre. Things I also love include: - The fact that not only can I drink in this theater they encourage it by sending servers around to take your order! - The fact that many of the shows that play here are comedic in nature. Who doesn't love a good laugh? - The fact that you can meet for a preshow drink and nibble at the bar/restaurant area connected to the theatre. There are only about 12 rows of seating and most of them are set up like a comedy club or small, seated music venue where there are tiny tables for 4 people to sit around. While some of the seats might feel a wee bit friendly if you know what I mean there isn't a bad seat in the house. If there is a show playing at the Garner Galleria that you are interested in seeing I definitely recommend going. Heck, I recommend just picking a show to see there if it sounds interesting to you because it's a fun little theatre to go to! read more

Why aren't there more stand up comedians in this place? Maybe there are and I just don't know, but I never see advertising for it... I was very happy with the table service setup they have here. I love the Denver Performing Arts. I have had the pleasure of seeing shows, musicals and theater productions in pretty much every theater. The Garner Galleria is no different. This is one of the smaller venues offered and promotes a more intimate setting. A chance for you to mingle with the cast before and after the show in the bar area. Table service in the theater, not too horrible as far as pricing in my opinion. The theater transforms for the different shows being offered and the wait staff dresses to match the show at the time (nice touch). The venue allows for a more interactive show and I've never seen a bad show here. Not a bad seat in the entire theater, back or front, you will see and hear perfectly. The Galleria is the opposite of the Buell. It's quaint and intimate, allowing the cast to interact a bit with the audience, and the audience to feel part of the performance. One feeds off the other in this small theater. It's a nice change of pace with table service for drinks and not so crowded you feel as though you can't move. It was our first time here as all other productions have been at the Buell. This was a great date night, although not our first - unlike the play we saw. read more

I am new to Denver and wasn't sure what to expect out of this theatre, especially since the seating chart was strange to me at first glance... I was expecting a theatre, theatre. As it was, this place is perfect. It reminded me of a small comedy club when we walked into the seating area. We sat in row E which had a drink bar in front of us, and elevated us a bit over the main floor crowd. It was a fantastic area to sit, as the cast used the aisle way in front of us quite often. The service during the show was great. The drink prices were reasonable, and the drinks were tasty. The best part was the show, Xanadu. I have never seen the movie, nor did I have any idea what the show was about, but my friend wanted to see it for her birthday. Holy cow, it was awesome. The cast was so talented. I giggled and laughed through the entire thing. If you have a chance to see Xanadu, you must. Even my ten year old loved it. I can't wait to see another show at this venue. read more

An adorable theater! It's about the size of a comedy club, but bigger, better tables, better snacks and better drinks! The location is the first theater in the Denver Theater complex. There is a small bar upon entry, where you can wait for the show to start, meet up with friends etc. There is not really a bad seat in the house, maybe the back back, but even so, you are not at any time, very far from the stage. The staff that greets you upon entry is very sweet and welcoming, the location is clean, the only draw back in the small restrooms - only a 2 seater! So, I think we have an amazing Performing Arts Center, and this little theater is a sweet, intimate part of it. I have seen a few shows here now and can say that there is not a bad seat in the house, save the front row, which does not get served during the performance. Keep that in mind when booking and order accordingly before the show. The attendants are gracious and seem to have a decent system going for drinks and snacks (think buttered popcorn, cheese popcorn, cheese and crackers and cookies). I would like to suggest that the theater take a look at it's snack list and do some revamping. Every item on the list has dairy in it, which omits the vegan/vegetarian crowd and those of us who are lactose intolerant. I would love to buy your snacks and support the theater, I (and many others) just need them to be dairy free. read more

Garner Galleria was a fantastic venue for the current show "Doyle and Debbie" which takes place in a saloon setting. The staff there has recreated the look from the Chicago show so if you've been to the Galleria before, it looks completely different than when "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" was playing. The drinks are a nice size for a fair price, there are some other snacks and before and after the show you can mingle in the bar. We were invited to stay for the cast party after opening night so that was even more fun. There's not a bad seat in the house, the sound system is great and you have LOTS more elbow room than you do at the Buell. read more

We went to see a show here last night. It's in a complex with all of the other movie theaters (which we didn't know when we were driving there since we are new to the area). We got there late because of horrible traffic so were really worried about getting to the show late and if they'd let us in. We were pleasantly surprised with how warmly we were welcomed and how they didn't make a big deal at all about us being a little late. They were so gracious and it made me feel so much better (I HATE being late!!!) The seats aren't super comfortable but we had such a great view even from the back of the little theater. The sound was perfect too. The nonalcoholic drinks (juices, pop, etc.) were only $2 which was refreshing, and in a normal size glass and not a tiny plastic cup. We had trouble finding our floor of the parking garage but overall we had a great experience t the Garner Galleria! read more

I had never been here before coming to see Robert Dubac's Free Range Thinking show this past weekend. I was expecting a larger venue much like the other theaters in the complex but this reminded me of Comedy Works. They have table service in the theater, so you can order some drinks and a snack if you'd like. It's a much more intimate venue than any others in the complex, and it made for great Sunday afternoon entertainment! I will definitely be back. read more

Great little place for a stand up play. I've seen a couple of event here and it is a nice intimate venue for a monologue. Seating is good and the attendants are so polite and helpful. One thing that I always wonder about is the wine selection. There is not much to it, if I remember correctly, its your basic, merlot/chardonnay varieties. I always thought that theatre goers and wine drinking would go hand in hand. Why not have a special red and white bottle each night. Your guys choice, but at least make it something different. So now that I'm thinking about it, most people eat dinner before the play, so a dessert wine sounds great. A moscato d asti or a braccheto d acqui. Such a wonderful, intimate setting for a night out at the theatre. We had the pleasure of seeing Girls Only: The Secret Comedy of Women and happened to sit in the second row. Not only was the show absolutely phenomenal, but the theatre itself was truly a wonderful home for the show. read more

Normally I look for great theater productions based on the performance. In this case I have also become enamored by the venue. I went to see the Debbie and Doyle show and immediately realized that the Galleria is a place that immediately chameleonizes itself for each show passing across its stage. From the bar to the show to the ability to be served in the show made the whole experience rich and intimate. They completely set the scene in the bar with country music and all kinds of checkered plaid and cowboy hats. I am interested to see what they will do for the next show, whatever it is. I have mixed feelings on this theater. The shows are always great, Dixie's Tupperware and must recently I saw "The Kid" with Joey McIntyre there. It's mostly the seats that I am not a fan of. Picture old school girl conference chairs with less room. The venue is very intimate and cozy, in a good way. For The Kid, I was so close to Joey McIntyre that every single teeny bopper girl from the late eighties was actually jealous... the bar is good, for basic drinks. This is a great little theater and Yup, we are fans. We have seen a few different shows here and they decorate the place for each one to match the show. We have sat in several places and haven't had a bad seat or view. They offer cocktails and snacks, and while either aren't all world, it is nice that they are there and that you have the option. But then again, you aren't there for the drinks or the food, you are there for the shows. So if you see something playing here, that you think they may enjoy, check it out.
