We joined as members, which turned out to be a great value since the membership cost less than purchasing individual tickets and allowed us to return throughout the year. Some of the toddlers were especially excited to see The World's Largest Dinosaurs exhibit (a separate ticket is required), which explores the biology and amazing anatomy of sauropods, the largest land animals ever to walk the Earth. We also enjoyed Discovering Teen Rex, which featured interactive exhibits for the kids. The fossil preparation lab was on display as well, showcasing Triceratops and Edmontosaurus fossils along with the tools used by paleontologists. Both exhibits were listed as temporary. The biggest surprise was the Wildlife Halls on the second and third floors. These 90-plus wildlife and habitat dioramas are beautifully detailed, many featuring enormous and exotic animals within realistic ecosystem settings. Everyone was impressed by how clean and vibrant they looked, especially compared to the classic dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History, which we still greatly enjoy. The Discovery Zone on the second floor was the biggest hit with the children. Designed for kids up to age eight, it offers a variety of hands-on exhibits. From uncovering buried bones in the sand to designing custom bug badges and experimenting with the force of moving water, it was difficult to pull the kids away. Outside the museum, there are additional attractions including animal statues, a playground, and a splash fountain. The museum is located within the expansive Central Park area, providing plenty of room to explore before or after your visit. We found the Denver Museum of Nature & Science to be well worth the visit and highly recommend it for adults and children of all ages.

A large, impressive museum with something for everyone. The main museum is technically two museums…read more(there are a total of three), the Hamilton building and the Martin building. Sections include modern and contemporary African art, arts of Oceania, Western American art, latin American art, indigenous art, alaskan art. They also have textile, fashion, and architecture exhibitions. They also have rotating temporary exhibitions. When I visited, it was European and American art. I had a little fun finding paintings of judgmental looking people and making a "we listen and we judge" instagram post. All the rooms are large and well curated/presented. I visited on a Tuesday and it was free (I still donated). On regular days, admission is 30 dollars, but gets you into all three museums, including the Kirkland (reviewed separately), which is right next door. I'm going to let the pictures speak for themselves as far as the variety available at this museum.

The current exhibition on Australian Indigenous Art "The Stars We Do Not See" is a stunning example of how much there is to gain and appreciate from going to see something you know nothing about. I particularly enjoy the tours, ongoing programs and lectures that the Museum offers. In conjunction with with the Aboriginal exhibit, the monthly "Mindful Looking" program offered a deep dive into one painting in that exhibit as a group of maybe 50 patrons listened in rapt attention as the curator of "The Stars We Do Not See" gave us a deep understanding of not only how that piece was made, but also its historical, symbolic and hidden perspectives. This is just a tiny slice of the education, amazement and enjoyment the Denver Art Museum has to offer. It's a treasure.

The first time I visited the neighborhood I came on a Friday night to try the pizza restaurant cart-driver. After dinner I walked my dog around the neighborhood which was packed with bar goers. My dog is an attention grabber, and I enjoyed talking with the many people that approached us. My second visit was during the day and was more or less a re-visit in order to view the street art which was rather difficult to fully admire at night. I enjoyed visiting the neighborhood both day and night for different reasons. The neighborhood has a lot to offer most of which is geared towards adults. I highly recommend this district if you are into good food, art, or a vibrant bar scene.

I used to go there when it really wasn't a thing. I loved the club, the music was great. It was known for being the "Harlem at the West". Walking down memory lane a lot of the old places that I remember going to are no longer there. What I did notice now, is how updated and clean it has become. We walk from downtown, all the way out there to go to a restaurant that we found closed. But we did find is some really fun stores one that I do have to mention was called "Pair O Dimes". I love that store and when you go, say hi to Jesse. I WOULD go back, although, It still is a bit sketchy and I'm not sure if I can go back to that area at night.

They greeted us immediately and gave us a map of the property. We had fun walking around and checking out the animals and historic buildings on site. It is wild this place is right in the middle of a neighborhood. The only issue we had was parking because we the lot is full you're out of options.

Wow, my yesterday's visit to this historic park was so mesmerizing. It's because of their annual…read more(?) "Bright Nights" (originally a lantern festival.) It is said that they unveil a brand new theme each year and this year's theme appears to be focused on some Eastern cultures such as cherry blossom and bamboo forest with pandas. Not that I have been to many lights shows and yet I must say that I have never seen anything quite like this as far as my recollection is accurate. In its 12-acre land, the installations of lantern lights are everywhere. After 8:30pm or so when it's dark, the illuminations from the lanterns are glowing brighter than Las Vegas' illuminations (LOL - why am I comparing this to Las Vegas!!) According to the park's website, some of the sculptures are 23-foot tall (such as the cherry blossom gate.) It's currently open from Wednesday through Sunday until October 5th. And last night's was one of the adult-only nights where you must be 21+ to enter (I believe the next and last such night is Sept 17th. And this writing is as of late August of 2025.) I am already curious as to what the next year's theme is going to be. There is a centralized bar, some food vendors, a stage where a performer performs, and a DJ booth. Great for family time, girls' night or date night. Helpful staff were working tirelessly to assist all visitors. Although about 1,300 tickets were sold last night, it was never super jammed packed. There is still time to visit this enchanting light show. Not only for the locals but definitely one of the must-visit attractions for out-of-staters as well.

I may have never found it if it weren't for a friend's post that she was going to be in a show, there. The show was stellar! The caliber of acting was on par with anything I have seen at DCPA. The production value was exceptional. And, the ticket price was under $30 for front row! The show was so good that I bought season tickets for 2022-2023. The seating is tiered, so you don't have to worry about someone tall sitting in front of you. There is a large main floor area and balcony seating. They have drinks and snacks available for purchase before the show and during intermission. The drinks were moderately priced, way cheaper than DCPA. And, there is plenty of free parking in the lot.

This was our last stop in Denver and it didn't take more than 15 minutes. This is a great alternative to the US Mint. We were not able to get the free tickets to the US Mint, since we were in town during Christmas break and by the time we arrived all the tickets were gone :( The Money Museum is simple and quick. There's no souvenir shop here, but like I said, you get a cool free bag of shredded money :) It's only a slight detour away from 16th Street Mall, plus there's a free 16th Street Mall bus shuttle, so it's super convenient and accessible. I've been many times and I learn something new from the permanent displays each time. I have not been at all disappointed with the periodically swapped out exhibits either. They're relevant and interesting, and give me something to research further into in the future. There are a lot of interactive displays and opportunities to think and share unique ideas as well. I love museums that offer the opportunity to use what you're learning and apply it in the moment. Learning is not just for school trips, us older folks can do it too! They even have windows to peer through to see how they work on exhibit items and restore/preserve them. I've not been there during active work hours yet, but hopefully one day! The museum is pretty large and very clean and organized. I love the building itself, it's spacious and fun to just meander around in. There are plenty of bathrooms, some on each floor. There is lots and lots of seating for breaks if needed. The staff is friendly and the gift shop has lots of cool items.

You can do it in a day by choosing maybe two of the museums; three would be rushed. I think two days would be ideal to enjoy the visit. Many nice restaurants and hotels near by. The Convention Center is also within walking distance so if you're here for a trade show or conference and you stay in a downtown hotel, this would be a great place to visit- and you don't need a car! If you don't want to pay to get into the museums, there are many public art installations (Big Sweep, Cowboy Pajamas, etc. ) to enjoy.

This includes Civic Center Park with the Denver City & County Building and the McNichols Building, the Museum District with the Denver Art Museum, the Central Library, the Byers-Evans House, the C.E.L.L., the Clyfford Still Museum, the Kirkland Museum, and the History Colorado Center, plus a number of galleries, restaurants, clubs and many apartments and condos. The northwest corner of the neighborhood is the Denver Justice Center with the Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center and the Lindsey-Flanagan Courthouse. The Denver Mint is immediately to the east of these buildings. Continuing to the northeast corner you find the Ralph L. Carr Colorado Judicial Center. Another highlight of the area is the historic Evans School, just south of the Denver Art Museum. This magnificent, well-preserved, classical revival structure is a neglected centerpiece of the neighborhood. It is now being converted to offices, retail, and an event venue. The Curious Theater has occupied an old church at 1080 Acoma since 1999 and is known for their "no guts, no story" productions of new, cutting edge work. Major galleries include Walker Fine Art, William Havu Gallery, Sandra Phillips Gallery, and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center. The Golden Triangle truly offers something for everyone.
