Apparently, Joni, the wife provided an estimate that cut them short. On day 2, which was the final installation day, Kevin Humphrey asked to see the estimate that his wife emailed me. He was very upset and stated he see why we accepted their offer because it was so low. He used profane language in our home and ranted about how much money they lost on the job and stating they did not make a profit. I still don't know how much the job should have cost because he was not professional enough to have that conversation. I informed my husband and we agreed to add a few hundred dollars more to what was originally quoted. Their work is supposed to be warranted for a year and we have a few cracked tiles that we need replaced and they refuse to answer my calls, texts, or emails. I guess they feel like they don't have to honor the warranty since they cut themselves short. That's not our problem, nor is it fair. Kevin should've taken that up with his wife and acted in a more professional manner about the situation. We would not have had a problem discussing the true cost of the job and paying it or negotiating and coming to some agreement. We asked for an estimate for our bathroom when they finished the kitchen. They took measurements, but never provided an estimate. I guess I should've known then we would never hear from them again. Lastly, we noticed a cracked tile they installed, and they were not going to say anything. We brought it to their attention. They said because of the cut, it'll likely crack again when they try to cut it. I was like, well at least give it a try. I don't want cracked tile as that's the purpose for getting my floor redone. I had to call them back to replace a piece of trim under my cabinet and to provide a proper transition from my kitchen to the living room. The trim they removed was already painted. They could've put it back, but instead they put trim that was not already painted.

Just today I fix the leak on my kitchen door that messed my entire laundry room because they didn't put proper weather proofing fabric and water was getting into the house! Few months ago we fix the master shower cause they didn't put a proper support under the shower floor. The vinyl floor in the entire house get separated from one another cause is not properly installed. I do have pictures of everything. People pay a lot of money already. Way to expensive and they now will no longer warranty the job as they sold us on. The floor is falling through, the shelves are falling off the walls. The shower floor is stained with yellow glue, the side panels are scratched up, the toilet came unbolted from the pipe/floor. We will be seeing them in court this coming year once the 90 days is past and we can for the entire $30k cost of the bathroom since every panel must be removed to replace the shower pan, let alone the floor repairs. They do not have American workers, all foreign illegals it seems.

He submitted inflated estimates to my insurance company--up to $10,000 more than our contract--while offering me low-grade carpet under $1.50/sq ft. A subcontractor told me, "I know what I'm charging Jim, but I don't know what Jim is charging you... it's a business." He ignored calls, stuck to short emails, and dismissed my concerns as "emotional" or "overreacting." He also used derogatory language, calling his own subcontractor a "redneck."
