I pulled into Garretts on a suggestion from Siri on my iPhone. It was by far the best piece of advice she has ever given me. I was looking for a spot for breakfast in advance of a hike along the Ledges Trail in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was the perfect choice. The service was quick and friendly and I had THE best corned beef hash I have had it years. It's important to understand that truly good hash never comes in a can! It was served up with sourdough toast, eggs over easy and home fried potatoes. It was absolutely delicious! The chef came out from behind the griddle to say hi and receive a well deserved compliment. Saw all the five star reviews and was excited about trying it out. Weeeell here goes: was given a cup of coffee before I requested it. Thought it was kinda cool but strange because not everybody drinks coffee. Unfortunately it tasted weak, burnt and like it was brewed in dirty dish water. I could only take two sips. Server was a friendly disabled fellow which is great. Problem is he had snot coming out of his nose and white liquid around his mouth that would spit out when he talked. I asked for a glass of water and never got it. They brought the wrong order to my table, moved it to the right table but forgot all the extras that came with it (syrup, butter etc). When I got my food they got the order wrong and the silverware had dry food on it. At this point I was genuinely put off and grossed out. I'm not proud but at this point, before eating anything (because I couldn't without throwing up) I said I left something in my car and got the hell out of there. read more

I went just to meet someone and have coffee and felt like I was a guest with Brian, the owner who really (!) wanted me to enjoy my meal. He checked in with us and let us know that he could accommodate my special diet needs. It wasn't overbearing. The coffee was OK American standard. I like mine a lot stronger. Super busy family owned diner. Lots of local traffic. We stopped in for breakfast on Father's Day and had a bit of a wait after being seated. I used to come here before becoming a Yelper. It's been over a year and once again Brian delivered. Not only did he remember me and he came to the table to chat before going to the grill. Crepes and pancakes were cooked perfectly along with my eggs with onions and cheese. This seemingly obscure diner is tucked into a little strip mall in the Stow area. When you walk in, you can tell that this is a family run business that specializes in making sure they can handle the onslaught of hungry and hungover diners. Let me start my food review by stating the Corned Beef hash is absolutely amazing. The owner indicated that they source their corned beef from the same vendor that many of the noteworthy corned beef shops utilize in Cleveland. Absolutely delicious and a must if you are a corned beef lover. We also fined on the pancakes and they were hands down some of the best either of us had ever had. Blueberry and Banana pancakes like this earn the five star review alone. These folks work tirelessly to keep up and their food shows. If you get the chance, stop by and take my advice. Great breakfast dive, and their lunch menu looks tasty! My husband and I both got the Garretts Mill Special, which is your typical 2-egg breakfast. Eggs were cooked perfectly, rye and sourdough toast both tasty, delicious sausage links, and good home fries. Hubs liked the coffee, friendly staff. Older decor, but they keep it clean. My only complaint would be that the person who did a great job of cleaning the sink in the ladies room is apparently not the same person that cleaned the toilet, LOL. Great breakfast food and friendly staff. I had been wanting to try this diner so took my cousins here before they went back to Baltimore. I'll be back, for sure. I had the veggie omelet. It came with home fries--some of the best I've ever had--and toast. Pancakes are almost like a crepe--light and plate sized. And the bacon is served really crispy with excellent flavor. I came in here while on business and needing a quick simple lunch. It wasn't too busy on a Monday afternoon, and I was able to get served quickly. I ordered the soup and grilled cheese special, can't beat the price! The soup was a tomato basil bisque I believe and was really food. I did the grilled cheese with cheddar and it hit the spot. Menu is limited for lunch, bigger for breakfast. I would def go back. Seriously, always a happy group working here, especially the guy cooking. It's a tiny diner, but we never really waited longer then 10-15 to sit. We love coming here for b-fast at least once a week. I've also had the turkey club and it was good. So I usually get eggs/toast bacon, even tho they wear shirts saying 'best pancakes...'. Stopped by today for breakfast with my family based on the Yelp Reviews. We would have never found this place without Yelp since it is off the beaten path from where we typically go. Wanted to try different breakfast please today. My husband had eggs, sausage, toast and fruit cup and he liked it. I had Croque madam sandwich with home fries. Did not like the combination of mustard and truffle butter, I wish they would use traditional ingredients. Home fries and ketchup didn't taste right to me. I had heard rumors that they had great pancakes. I finally got the opportunity to meet my sisters & mom for breakfast. The rumors are true!! They have incredible pancakes...my only complaint is that they should have told me to order a full stack :) Food came out piping hot, server was friendly and attentive. Bonus, my mom was able to easily navigate her power chair to get to table. Owner is on-site and between orders checks in with customers on their food. I wish it was better than it was. My wife and I went in for Sunday breakfast/brunch. Even by breakfast standards they have a pretty limited menu (I think there were 3 omelets on the menu). My wife had eggs with the usual (potatoes, bacon, toast), I had a waffle and a side of sausages. None of it was bad, but none of it was great. The waffle was pretty nicely done, properly cooked and a little crisp on the outside, but tasted just OK. It would have helped if it arrived hotter and if they had something better than the cheapest pancake syrup. Like I said, it was OK, but it wasn't anything special. Probably won't be back. read more

Wonderful mom and pop diner. The main cook is so friendly and kind whenever we come in. The tables and atmosphere are decent but could use an upgrade. However, it is clean, which is the most important aspect of the atmosphere. Also, the food is fantastic! They always start with these little scones that I just love! I have tried a few things on the menu now and have liked everything, especially breakfast items. The breakfast sandwich is my favorite. It is probably one of the best I have had in quite some time, and it is very filling. The prices are good as well.
