Met some family here for brunch on Sunday. I had heard good things so was looking forward to checking this place out. They were reasonably busy but we got seated quickly at a table for four. Service started out friendly but we were pretty much ignored after the onset. Our waters were empty and never refilled and we had to get another server's attention in order to get a refill on coffee. The food itself was just okay...not bad but nothing remarkable, in our opinion. Our party got a western omelet, a pancake and slice of French toast, and the beef tenderloin and egg special. My pancake was good but I did not care for the French toast and the syrup it was served with was just a packet of Smuckers. My husband said his omelet was just okay and the hash browns were pretty greasy. The others in our party liked the special but it didn't sit great with them afterward. Authentic Diner feels. The staff all get along well and are bffs, love to see it! I got the magic man breakfast, it's served on a gigantic platter! I don't know a lot about French toast but the French toast here is delicious! My BF got the Grecian omelette with hashbrowns. Heavy handed with the fillings. I've been wanting to check it out for a while but it feels remote. We pull up, cute little colored building, Halloween decor inside was intricate and cute. Ummmm my seasonal water glass? Sat at the counter. They were busy but, it was five minutes or more just to get served coffee. No menu or service after that for at least ten minutes. Finally got a menu and ordered. Had the breakfast burrito. The flavor was good. The tortilla it was wrapped in was almost inedible. I had to saw through it with the kitchen knife you are provided. I didn't eat the whole burrito it was so hard to cut. Tried to dig the inside eggs and peppers and sausage out but the eggs were stuck to the tortilla. Absolute only reason we came here was because the reviews. What is wrong with the palets of this town? I don't think I've had more inedible breakfast. Matter fact I didn't eat it. I tried by turning what they called stuffed French toast, over so that it might be softer. I would've needed a knife to cut into the toast. Wasn't toast... it was two pieces of bread that was attempted to be made into French toast, hard , & set on top of berries and cream. No. We asked for crispy bacon and got burnt and greasy. The decaf was the most bitter ever, and I did not drink that either. My husband managed to choke down 1/2 his inferior breakfast because he was ravished and he actually drank a half cup of coffee. When our server came I did explain how I tried and even took some of the center of the "stuffing" out ... the whipped cream. But it was not tasty. Our server was adorable and we gave her 20% because we saw her over with the manager or the owner pitching our case that I didn't like my meal and I didn't eat any of it. The manager apparently did not approve a comp. or a discount for that matter. She probably figured she's got regular customers that'll show up that have no appreciation for what good food is. We love coming to this Diner once a month! It has ample amount of parking. Amazingly friendly staff & the locals that are there. They have a beautiful location with a back patio thats open in the warm weather. We always get seated fast even if its busy. They have a ton of different options. We usually get breakfast and its always cooked perfectly. They keep the restaurant clean. I love the little touches. Most of the time i feel as if im at home. Skip this place. It should be called The Rebarfable Diner. The fries were good maybe. Our waitress was wonderful. We order a burger, fries chips and the club. The club dismal excuse for a sandwich. The meat wasn't even a 1/4 inch thick hockey puck. The bacon tasted like rubbers bands heated up on the grill. The bread was bigger than the meat. Its the worst sandwich that I have ever been served. Perhaps purchase meat from one of 5 butchers that are in your area with in 5 miles of your restaurant. Its really easy to pat some patties out and actually make a hamburger. Personally, I love the assorted collection of coffee cups, as it feels like everyone is gathering for a meal with their favorite, comforting mug. The food is made with high-quality ingredients and creativity. There are rotating weekly specials and they publish a great calendar for guests to follow along. This was my first time getting the Magic Man breakfast. In fact, all three in my party got it. Thankfully, the giant trays all fit on the table, because these things are huge! Absolutely worth the price. I have had great service here. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Don't be surprised if you see Kathi, one of the owners, greeting you at the door or checking on your table. She clearly takes pride in the restaurant and she should. It's a solid spot in our area, so definitely try it out. My only knock on the restaurant is that there isn't a great place to wait for a table, as you are basically in the bar seating if you wait inside. First time visiting here and I was impressed. The staff made me feel right at home. Many unique items are available for breakfast. There were so many choices that I didn't feel I needed to look at the other side of the menu. Ordered the build your own omelette and it was delicious. All ingredients were very fresh. Great ratio too of bacon, veggies, and cheese to the eggs. Loved the seasoning on the potatoes! The portions are substantial here. I ended up taking home leftovers. The coffee was also delicious! The service here is top notch. I love the atmosphere. Everyone is happy and it's great seeing so many regulars come in. I love their specials and part of me really wanted the avocado with smoked Gouda omelette but after a liquid diet yesterday i wanted the whole menu. Food has been outstanding both times I've been there. I love that they have artwork for sale by local artists and have themed dinners. I spoke to one of the owners today and she was wonderful. It's such a friendly place to go to. I wish it was closer to home but it's worth the trip and always a special treat if you have to go to Barberton Hospital for anything. I visit Akron a couple times a month and always look for somewhere new to try and this restaurant showed up on my search. I wish years ago. Very rarely do I go somewhere that hits every mark perfectly; and they did. The restaurant has a small town feel with a spin on modernization. You instantly feel warm and comfortable. They have two outside patios to take advantage of the weather. The menu is not just a regular menu. They put a spin on everything. They grind their own coffee and the desserts are made fresh everyday so they change everyday. The staff is beyond friendly. You feel as if you've known them for years. The owner also works as the hostess in the restaurant. The hardest part is picking something to eat. I got the special of Red, White, and blue Waffle with blackberry ice tea to drink. Pride is defiantly used when preparing their food. You can tell they love what they do. I did not want to eat my waffle since it looked so good. The taste was amazing. Three words for our first visit to this local favorite eatery in Barberton - Friendly, Purple, Delicious! From the moment we were greeted at the door until we checked out at the register, service was extremely friendly and welcoming. Purple is the color that highlights the decor in this surprisingly modern and cozy looking diner. And Delicious is a an understatement for the Tiramisu Stuffed French Toast that I indulged in for lunch today. We stopped here for breakfast while traveling South. Adorable and sweet with a lot of local character. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. I love that the glass and coffee mug were Fall themed just like you were ata a friends house in the kitchen. Food was delish. I got the French toast which was thick, crisp on the outside and buttery smooth in the middle. My husband (not a breakfast person) got the potato soup and a burger. Both smelled and looked amazing. They had a charity event where each employee decorates pumpkins and you vote by donating to their charity. Sooooo cute! There looked to be a really cozy patio in the back when weather is nicer. I ordered breakfast take out from here this morning! And so happy I did. The prices are fair and the portions are appropriate for the price. It smelled so yummy in my car I couldn't wait to get home to eat it. Eggs bacon hot cakes. Just the way you want them. Got home- ate it up and will definitely return. The black coffee was good and I got the mocha which tasted like it was from a bag instead of a coffee shop but that's okay! It was still good. Fast service. Hot, delicious food. Friendly servers. That sums up our brunch at Remarkable Diner! My party had omelets: Tuscan, Mexican, and Western. All hot, fresh, well-made and packed full of hearty ingredients. My Tuscan was chock full of sun ripened tomatoes, Greek feta, and spinach, then drizzled with balsamic. I subbed the home fries out for a fruit cup and it was the best fruit cup ever! Full of raspberries, blueberries, apples, grapes, strawberries! We'll be back to try the lunch menu! read more

Had lunch here today with husband and granddaughter. The food was great except, my husband had a big black hairy spider crawl out of his salad! When he asked the server about it she just said "well we have organic food here and we may not get all the bugs out". I think a spider or other bug should be able to be washed out if done properly.
