The mammoth playground looks amazing and this giant fun play area will be accessible to all and being inclusive just adds more fun to the already fun park. You can see the work underway and there have been a few reported delays, but safety first and hopefully by end of summer or early fall all the kids, grandkids can play and play and play together. Park has fishing, trails along the Big Indian Creek, 300 plus acres for adventures outside.

Outside of that particular experience (and once I was on the return down-hill), I realized this trail is short, simple, charming , and easy, with a few spots offering really pretty overlook views along the way. About halfway in, a babbling creek starts to follow you, hinting that you're nearing the final destination. Then you can hear the waterfalls before rounding a bend to reveal them. The falls are fantastic with multiple levels and a very peaceful melody. Just a heads-up: the trail begins with a walk down a service road since the original trail is now on private property, roped off as part of a very interesting-looking old house/building. At the end of the service road, there's a short but steep uphill path path to rejoin the trail. After that--smooth sailing.

I wasn't ready for that, but I made it! We got some beautiful pictures of the waterfall. The waterfall was easy to walk around in and can get wet if you wanted too. Great place to cool down as well. There was also a train track that we walked on and it was right over a creek. Very high up but cool to see. I would definitely go back to visit the trail. I will know more of what I'm getting into next time.

The canoes are also great to rent but it was a windy day and it kept blowing us around lol. Prices for rental are reasonable as well. The lake is big but you can basically see the whole thing from one end to another. Which is nice if your family is on multiple boats. There is a disc golf course but I only played on a couple holes. The kids playground is a lot of fun and has some unique features. There is a petting zoo as well, basketball and tennis / pickleball courts. So much to do! Looking forward to going back and trying the camping!

How did it get its name? [Louisville KY]…read more We drove to this location on the corner of Sixth Street and Park Avenue in Louisville where there is a famous landmark called the Witches' Tree. It's in front of an apartment house, did not see anyone around. I took my photos of the tree. It actually just looks like an ugly tree, so knotted, tortured, and misshapen, but there were odd things that hung on the tree, mostly trinkets, baubles and bead necklaces of different colors. The story goes that in the late 19th century this tree was the gathering place for a coven of witches. The witches cast a curse on the town when the city cut the tree down ahead of the annual May Day celebration. Exactly 11 months to the day after the tree was cut down, a historic deadly tornado hit Louisville. During the storm, lightning struck the stump of the old witches tree and a new tree began growing there... not a pretty tree but this ugly tree that stands there now. So now locals of the community leave small tributes on and around the tree to keep on the witches' good side and to bring good luck. This is a stop included on the Old Louisville historic ghost tour. It was nice to have AC in August heat though! We didn't put our air mattress on the bed platform because ours is a queen, not a full. It was also nice to have our air mattress closer to the AC unit! Picnic table outside, works great for our family. We were basically in the cabin to sleep. Bring bikes, kayaks, air mattress, coolers, bedding..... Shower houses and restrooms are decent but can be a walk from your cabin, depending on where you're located. This cabin is the "Persimmon" cabin. We like seclusion, so it worked perfectly for us!

It was a beautiful area, green and lush, with several areas for picnicking and wading into creeks. There was a lake that people were fishing in. Several old cabins were on the property that added a fun dimension to the area. If we're ever in the area again, we might stop and take advantage of more of the hiking trails.

Located in the highlands/Cherokee portion of the city of Louisville. I stopped by this park the other day with my wife and 4th horn daughter who is 18 months old. We had planned to play on there small playground but she fell asleep so we Chelsea out the scenery instead. They have lots of water that's ankle high and lots of rock that allows you to walk out in and get in the water. It also a few small trails that surround the park that lets you see yeh park from several angles. The park includes seven benches on the banks of the water for viewing pleasure. They also have a giant pavilion that can be rented out. Which looks like at one point was very impressive. Now it's not upkept and filled with graffiti. It's honestly the only eye sore here. Hopefully they clean it up. Overall cool place that looks like it has 3 different parking lots for different entry points. Although the water is low enough and there is a bough rocks to easily walk this small park and get to any entrance. We had a nice visit here and I look for art to coming back with my other kids and enjoying the exploring and playground.
