She decided to paint a vase for her Mom and a small leaf plate for her Dad. There was really nothing she wanted for herself. Like I mentioned the selection was terrible. Secondly, we were left upstairs by ourselves while the only employee was working in the basement. She was very sweet and pleasant but how many times can you ring the bell and have her run up the steps? We struggled with a few of the small bottles of paint and they were out of brown paint. We got most everything on our own. Not sure the reason we needed to leave a tip?!! Last time here I was even more disappointed as I was with a group of ladies. We did ceramic trays in the basement. We had to get up and search for the employee to get more tiles, glue and paper towels. We all spent $45 or $50 (I forget exactly) and we were sent home with un-finished trays. We were given powder to mix the grout at home. The instructions were pathetic. I ended up purchasing ready made grout from an art supply store to finish my project. I would NEVER recommend doing a big mosaic project here. It was not what I expected and I felt ripped off with my time and money. Two times in a row I left feeling frustrated. We love coming here but the place seems a bit neglected.

We were looking for something fun and hands on to do for vday and i stumbled upon this place on…read moreyelp. It only had 1 review so I went on to read their information and it mentioned wheel work. I called and spoke to Andrea, she was able to set us up for an evening of fun. I even found a Groupon the next day ($15 for $30 worth)! They are currently working on their website but their Facebook page is updated regularly. I think i found a new hobby. We came here for some pottery wheel action. Our instructor, Colleen, was awesome. We each took turns on the wheel and she gave great directions, tips, and quickly jumped in to help when needed. She definitely made our experience fun. I can't say enough about her. We worked with a total of 5 pounds of clay and was there for about an 1 and 1/2 and payed a total of $20. They closed 9pm that evening but I believe we left a little past 9:30. The staff was very accommodating. Colleen stated that it takes about 2 weeks for the clay to dry so we do have to return a second time to paint our creations and a third time after they have been fired up in the kiln. We visited the shop over a YEAR ago to discuss the poster special, which was very confusing, not straightforward at all, and left us with more questions than answers. We asked for some price quotes for a framed print to align with the poster special, and she gave us quotes for hundreds of dollars. Once we made it clear that we only wanted to spend the money on the gift card for the "poster special" that was being advertised, radio silence from her. I have reached out to Karen several times in the past year to be told "she's too busy" (we were literally asking for one framed print of my own photo), or to receive no response at all which speaks volumes to how this business is run. We've been trying to get one framed print for a YEAR at this point. Clearly she doesn't mind basically stealing money from our family who paid for the gift card that she has NO intention of honoring. Honestly, you're better off getting your own prints and buying a frame from Michael's because you'll probably get the same quality anyway. Literally 0 stars if I could. I'm so angry that my family's money was totally wasted here and we'll never see it back or get anything for it. Our family was trying to support a small business during the pandemic but didn't realize they were being stolen from. Many paint, others work with other mediums like charcoal. Jim bounces from student to student offering help and critique, helping you figure out how to solve a problem you're having with your piece as you go. He has a room of art supplies you can buy from if you run out of something or need something else, which is super convenient. If you're new to art or to a medium, Jim has some trials and process to how he helps folks build up the basics. Everyone in the class has done them before graduating to painting. I'm nervous even admitting this because people may take up all the spots, but I truly believe in Jim's classes and know that many people also love his work for framing. Give this place a shot!
