The best low key place for great beer, great people, great bartenders. Pool, darts, tvs, jukebox. All I'm looking for when I go out!

Total dive bar, but good for people watching. Always quite a diverse crowd. Friday night they had a blues guy & he was pretty good.

The place was busy, and then they also have screens where people can watch sports, and other events. They had a very decent menu, that leaned toward "pub grub." The meal started, with chicken strips coated, in Ritz crackers. They were delicious. You could definitely taste the Ritz crackers, and the sweetness of the crackers played very well against the chicken. I don't remember what was in the dipping sauce, but it was amazing They actually reminded me of the old "planet Hollywood" restaurants They had a Dish, along the same line, called "chicken crunch". Chicken, coated in Cap'n crunch cereal. As weird as it sounds, I loved it, and I'm not the only one. It was one of their most popular appetizers, if not the most popular. The main course, the short rib tacos were fantastic. The short rib was literally melt in your mouth tender. It also came with a pink sauce, that was both savory and tangy at the same time. It had a little bit of a kick to it. I may be wrong, but to me, it tasted like there was a little bit of horseradish in it. For the quality of the food, the price was reasonable. I would gladly come back. Thanks!

Sometime in the last 2 years, possibly more, they changed it to marguerita pizza. I got it about a year ago, but first they gave me the wrong pizza. When they replaced it with the right pizza, it came out cold and undercooked. My boyfriend has tried many dishes on the menu, none of which he liked. The pretzel burger has always been the one thing we could never go wrong with. I would only get that everytime I've been in the last year. Today, my pretzel burger was undercooked and they switched to Kraft Squares (or something similar) for the cheese. It was gross. The only time we have good service is when this one small older woman is our server, unfortunately don't know her name. Everyone else who works there is usually apathetic and inattentive.

Drifting Back to Lions Roar for Sure!…read more We ended the night at Lions Roar Brewing in Westfield and what a way to cap off an evening. The service was excellent -- friendly, attentive, and on point all night. The craft beer selection had some real creativity on tap. We were disappointed to hear the mango brew had run out -- that one sounded like a winner -- but the Mexican and lime brew more than made up for it. Bright, flavorful, and refreshing, it was a great pour that kept us coming back for more. But the real showstopper of the night? Drifting Back. This four-piece band was absolutely exceptional -- tight, talented, and packed with great tunes. They had the room in the palm of their hands all night. If you ever see them on the schedule here, don't miss it. A minor gripe about the sold-out mango brew aside, this was a fantastic night out at Lions Roar. We'll absolutely be back.

Close to other restaurants. Parking can be challenging . I had to pay and park few minutes walk . Ambience is good . They had live bands some days . Lots of seats to sit and drink. There are both indoor and outdoor seating . In summer outdoor seating could have insects / mosquitoes and hence we had to move to inside seating . IPA was too good ! Love the fresh taste of hazy IPA. Service can be better . IPA closer about 10$ which is slightly expensive than other sports bars . First time . I didn't know we can bring our own food. . Went there and had nothing to eat and ordered a peanut packet . Lots of others got pizzas and other food from neighborhood, which is a great option. Good experience overall . 4 stars

The rigatoni had grilled chicken, fresh rigatoni, homemade marinara cream, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Calabrian chilis. This was very tasty. The chilis provided a spicy factor to this dish. The grilled chicken was cooked appropriately and paired well with the pasta. The risotto had tomatoes, artichoke, and mushrooms. Like mentioned, this was supposed to have artichoke, but it seemed like asparagus was used instead. This was a little plain. It needed more seasoning, specifically salt, pepper, and cheese. The risotto was cooked just right though. Will I go back? I was not present but probably would head there.

And I'll defer to the town elders about whether if I'm being unfair to a place that might be the heir to Maxwell's because of a "me" problem. I expected more of a "standing bar" venue. There's a main seating area that seems designated for full service food and drinks. The smaller seating area on the right felt like more of a VIP area. There were no signs, fences or bouncers stopping me from sitting in these places. The unambiguous standing area was quite small. I'm unclear on the ethics of whether it's required to buy drinks considering the delightfully low $10 cover charge. But I did enjoy a Down East cider and more shockingly, a loganberry hard cider from Canisteo, NY's own Cross Creek. Still, the DIY vibe is more refreshing than City Winery charging more than Live Nation to get through the door, tacking on $25 minimums and seating you with strangers. The men's room is currently out of service so I used the modular set-up outside (flush, not porta, but my rating on this sub-section of the trip varies depending on whether the light is working!) On the bright side, there's a great assortment of cover bands and originals on the calendar. I was here for Ashtray Floors, who had a stellar homage to The Replacements. I never thought I'd hear Left Of The Dial live again. And REM tribute band The Ones You Love also rocked the joint. Crossroads deserves credit just for hosting these shows but also for good sound quality whether it was the haunting echoes of the late Bob Stinson or the mandolin in Losin' My Religion. And if I don't see ya, in a long, long while, I'll try to find you, left of the Garwood NJ Transit stop.

I came for lunch and appreciated the fact that they had a lunch menu that includes a complimentary cup of soup. Although it was literally 100 degrees outside, the cream of crab soup was the perfect accompaniment to the entree of chicken fajitas and was quite lovely. The fajitas were sizzling hot when they came to the table, the plate was full of chicken, and the dish tasted fantastic. Also, I had a lychee mocktail which was a delight. The Cobb chicken sandwich was also a huge portion and was reminiscent of the salad but instead had a ciabatta bun. Also, our server, Sierra, was so sweet and attentive. All in all, we had an excellent experience per usual and will definitely be back.

Honestly, the design inside and its staff may be their redeeming qualities. Staff was attentive and even though we were seated in the patio they came to check on us often, clearing plates, offering to get us more food/drinks each time. As soon as you sit down, you're met with chips and salsa (pictured). Chips were ok, the salsa had very little flavor or seasoning. I can only describe it as a watered down Tostitos mild salsa (you know - the salsa in the glass jar). Food was average. Extensive menu, but quality varies across dishes. My partner got a steak and eggs, which was not too bad. They nailed the medium rare temperature. And the chimichurri had a good flavor. My quesadilla was OK, with the salsa toppings and side salad being average tasting. I gave this place two tries, I don't think they get a third one. Unsure if I'd return but if I did perhaps it'd be for happy hour drinks (Monday-Friday 4-6P).
