Three days later, my sister gets a call informing her that they do not, in fact, take workman's comp cases, and she has to start over from scratch. I called to clarify because I was sure it was a mistake, and the woman I spoke to was rude and deeply unsympathetic. She gave us no recommendations for a new oral surgeon, and she seemed irritated that I would ask. We finally found a new doctor, who not only told us that she actually also has a fracture in her mandible, but the gum has healed too much, so now she has to wait three months for surgery. Know that if you don't have private insurance, you're not welcome here, and you'll be made to feel like trash. They care about profit over people.

To top it off, my mother has even been a patient in this practice. The level of competency and complete lack of care is astounding. If this is the level of care they give patients, then maybe they shouldn't be the practice Huntsville Hospital uses for consults. It is unconscionable for this to have happened. Even if there wasn't anything he could do, the professional thing to do would have been to let the hospital staff know he wasn't going to see her before 36 hours had passed. Dr. McLain went over a couple of options and explained the benefits and risks of each. I was given the opportunity to review the cost of the procedure and decide without pressure how I would like to proceed. I was out of his office within 30 minutes of arriving. Although the time was short, I was completely satisfied; so much that I made my appointment for my procedure that day. My next appointment was for my procedure. Again, I was greeted warmly by his staff who remembered me. As I was anxious, I was grateful that again that I waited a very short time to be taken for my procedure. The night of my procedure, I received a call from Dr. McLain from his personal cell for follow up. That truly impressed me and showed me his level of commitment to those in his care. I cannot stress enough how warm and welcoming Dr. McLain and his staff presented themselves to me. Having any surgical procedure is very stressful. However, my stress level was relatively low due to the atmosphere they have created. I highly recommend Dr. McLain and have since move all my continuing business to his facility. Just do it, you will not be disappointed.

After asking for an x-ray of my jaw and being told that they no longer treat people with TMJ or jaw (bite) issues. I have no idea if I have TMJ or not. All I was asking was for them to exam it , xray or whatever they could do to help determine it. I absolutely did not have these issues until the surgery I had done at this office. I am now in worse pain and discomfort than I was before I ever stepped foot in this office. Now to be left high and dry and told to go somewhere else!

Might make you uncomfortable if your middle aged like me and still remember drs and dentists offices were you didn't have to hear how horrible your fellow patients are or how funny they look/act/speak etc. And since the up-front staff wears bedroom slippers, I'm guessing they run a pretty informal ship. So maybe I'm way off base thinking an office that handles surgical procedures should follow those way old fashioned ideas of patient care and respect. It's kind of hard to get an appointment there too. Our dentist had to send three referrals to make it past the front desk folks. It's amazing how they can diagnose a patient without seeing them. And I had no idea the front office staff was so well educated in oral surgery that they could decide who could or could not be seen based on a phone call and a referral from a dentist. We had been there a couple of times for the whole implant thing but it took almost a year and three more referrals before we could get an appointment for another implant that was needed. Guess they have more than enough business so you probably need to get your dentist to try someone else if you need oral surgery of any kind. Now Dr Shah and all the nurses seem to be great. They have taken good care of us if we get to see them. I have nothing but praise for that part of the visits. Sad that the front office has to approve of your appointment before you can see him.
