Wow! I wasn't expecting an awesome burger like the one I just had. I had a bacon double cheeseburger. My only complaint is it's a little messy. The bun couldn't keep up. But it tasted fantastic. I bypassed other restaurants to come to Gary's and because it was Gary's I did not double check my to go order. I ordered two biscuits with added egg and cheese. when I got home ready to eat there was no egg or cheese on my order. Please go through the trouble of checking your orders!! Called the store and spoke to the manager, who was very polite and apologetic, but that doesn't change the fact that I paid for something and didn't get it. Burgers are handmade and very juicy and delicious I think they should change their fries they are just plain jane out of Kroger. I really like the wing/strip basket, the strips are lightly battered to perfection and the wings are buffalo style and really good, service has always been great and I forgot to mention their breakfast which I think is one if the best in augusta. read more

Well they seem to have a lot of regulars here but it took the front cashier almost 10 minutes to say hello and she would take my order in a minute which turned into 5 minutes.So when she took my order there was no greeting but the man that came in behind me was greeted and they were getting his order started. Being late for work and hungry I ordered the fastest thing, a sausage biscuit. I would say it took about a total of 20 minutes from the time I walked in to the time I had my food. Maybe i came in on a bad day at this place but when you have the locals who come in everyday that get the grand greeting and someone like me who pops in every now and then without a good morning or hello,well...I may come back during lunch one day to see any changes .Keep in mind with me I always will any business another chance. read more

I was craving Gary's today and was very suprised to see alot of changes on the menu. Alot of items are not present anymore. The prices have also changed, most of them cheapier than what they were, which is always a plus. On the downside, they don't sell those delicious milkshakes that I recently raved about, which sucks...but I still love Gary's!!!! read more

Went here today. Waited 13 minutes for a chicken sandwich which cost $5. Just the sandwich. It turned out to be 3 tiny chicken tenders on a bun with lots of lettuce and a slice of tomato. Like really? $5 bucks just for a sandwich. You can get a meal at Chic Fil A for a dollar more! My JR. Burger had lettuce and tomato on it. On the menu it said it only came with ketchup and a pickle. I hate to give 2 stars when there are morons that give burger king 3 and 4 stars. I had a double cheeseburger and fries for about 9-10 bucks. It was average beef with zero spice. Seemed like frozen beef but who cares when it has no flavor. Fries are ordinary out of a 3 gallon bag frozen nothingness. The toppings are fresh but nothing special. Definitely better than chemical enhanced burger king but not as good as Sportsman bar which only charges $5 vs $9 at Gary's. read more

Sometimes when you travel, you pass a place that you wouldn't think about going and would drive by. Doing that here is the worst mistake ever! What an awesome group of people. The catfish was beyond incredible. Homemade tarter sauce was elbow licking good. I will change my travel plan for the return home to come eat here again!! I've have always liked Gary's Hamburgers.. one of the better burgers in the area as far as fast/convenient food goes. Also have great fries, fish and chicken baskets and meals. My only complaint from my recent visit the other day is the counter staff. I'm sure it can be a slightly stressful place to work taking drive-through and inside orders... But the lady taking my order never made eye contact with me and was extremely snippy with a permanent frown on her face. She would then turn her back and complain to the kitchen staff about this and that and how she was ready to call it a day. I know sometimes you can have an off day, but I would refrain from letting customers see and hear that. And the rest of the staff just looked plain miserable. When I pull up to a Chick-fil-A drive-through, or walk into a Chick-fil-A it is nothing but smiles and pleasantry.. if Gary's could bottle that along with their great food it would be a homerun. But the employee interaction here almost made me drop to a 3-star. But food made up for it. read more

I Love Gary's! Can't believe I have not reviewed this place yet!!! Overall a great burger. I always get the junior cheeseburger with bacon omg so good! The onion rings are not the best, but are pretty good. Also their breakfast biscuits are also amazing! If you haven't had one.... Get one! I've had the country ham one, the bacon egg and cheese one, and the sausage... All amazingly greasy goodness! If you don't waffle House.... You probably won't like Gary's either.... Just left Gary's hamburgers drive thru I made to Gary's at 8:30 and left at 9:05 our order was taken 3 different times. First time was at the drive thru speaker and next time was at the window twice once we paid for our order we were asked to pull into a parking spot. They were not busy from what we could see 2 minutes later 3 different cars also parked they got all the orders mixed up. Service was extremely slow for no reason food wasn't seasoned, no paper towels, and forgot drinks. The food is too expensive to be going through all that in my opinion we still didn't get exactly what we ordered. read more

Worst fried chicken wings I ever had... I should have purchased what they specialized in "hamburgers"

Went here today, bad decision. I asked for a cheeseburger with everything on it except mayo and tomatoes. I didnt get any ketchup or mustar either. My onion ring were hard and disgusting. The girl at the drive through dropped the pen out of the drive through window, which I had to open my car door and get, she didnt say im sorry neither did she say you re thank you for getting it. The sweet tea was good. Needless to say. I will not be going back. O, I almost forgot, the cashier dropped the roll of paper towels and picked them up off the floor and placed them in a bag of food. Used to be better before they stopped serving fried yeast rolls, raised the prices and did other little petty cost cutting measures like not having paper towel rolls on the tables anymore. The chicken strips are the best in town but the hamburgers are just okay and the fries are meh. Atmosphere was improved a while back by painting and removing some creepy clown decor but it is still sad to the point of being depression inducing. Gary's needs to decide if they want to return to being a hole-in-the-wall with excellent food at a decent price or if they want to continue to be a hole-in-the-wall with lower quality food and prices too high to match that food quality and atmosphere. I still go about once a month but only for the chicken strips. If they made a few changes one way or the other I'd go more. I really don't mind a bad atmosphere if the food is good and the price is decent. Or even if price is high if the food is excellent. That used to be Gary's thing; Excellent food across the board for a price higher than Zaxby's but still not bad, but in a place you didn't want to spend much time in. LOL. However, the formula has changed at Gary's I am sad to say. The three stars is strictly for the chicken strips. They are so good you should just buy them at the drive-through and eat somewhere else with better sides and a better atmosphere. read more

Sometimes you have to just hit the dive-spot for a burger. I have to admit lately I've been on a bit of a burger kick and I have no clue why. I remember the early 90's and my Sissy would stop here on the way to some endless holiday car journey. I have to say the only thing that has changed is the decor. There was a bit of a wait at the register as the young lady was working the drive thru and counter. The burger tasted exactly the delicious same and the fries: hot and crispy. The bathroom was super clean as was the rest of the restaurant. If you don't eat McD's or Burger King and a Five Guys is too far away make a stop here. read more

I can't pretend that the atmosphere does not play a role in my opinion of a restaurant. Gary's creepily deserted interior looks like a scene from a horror movie. I'm not sure what's up with the clown paintings (maybe a stab at Ronald McDonald?) but they do not complement the sticky 80s diner look at all. You get what you pay for at Gary's, which for me was less than $5 for a less than gourmet cheeseburger. It hit the spot; I was craving a nice greasy burger and fries, but it looks like the place has seen better days. If you need something cheap and quick, Gary's is a convenient spot and produces a solid hamburger. But don't expect the quality of Farmhaus. read more

I went for breakfast and the food was just OK. I ordered Hash Browns with my meal and they brought me a hash brown like you get at Mcdonalds. Not what I was expecting.
