Hosted a company happy hour in the private event space (upper deck) and everyone had an absolute blast!! The bartenders were amazing and were quick to make drinks for a large party. Not to mention the chicken tenders were fire. The management was awesome and made sure everything was in order, down to the playlist! I would definitely host another event at Gaslight in the future. I went here for the Art on Clark private opening party from the Lincoln Park chamber of commerce. Having never been here before, I thought that this restaurant/bar is in a great location in Lincoln Park! An awesome space to people watch, grab a drink, have a bite to eat, and meet up with friends! The covered patio is a perfect place to enjoy some drinks and food, watch sports on a nice day in the city. The long bar is the busiest space in the place, very popular. They have a nice room on the second floor for private events, (which is where we were located). It has it's own bar and seating area. We had mini burgers and pizza, if this is typical of the food that they serve, it was very good. Could definately see myself returning here for a drink or food or both together! read more

Location is a winner. Other than that nothing too great. There are a few things that you'll want to check out though. They have a mimosa package with fresh juices for $20 which is a really good deal, if only I liked champagne;) The mac and cheese skillet was spicy and delicious and very filling for only $10. Perfect size to share as an appetizer. Skip the honey goat cheese wrap. It was flavorless and nothing great. I wasn't even sure there was goat cheese in it. Sweet potato fries weren't anything special. I should have gone with the tots - lol. Gaslight has a great patio, ok service and mediocre food for average Chicago prices. read more

Went here for bar food and college football but ended up really disappointed. We were told to seat ourselves at the door but once we sat, we were not seen by a server for 25 mins. People who sat after us were greeted and got their order in before us. When we finally did get to order and eat our food, I took 2 bites out of the Turkey burger only for it to be extremely undercooked, as seen in the pic. I would hate to see what the middle of the burger looked like. The server thankfully took it off the bill and we promptly paid and left. I would definitely pass on this bar. Plenty of other sports bars out there with great food n service. Just grateful I didn't get sick. read more

They're crispy chicken tenders are on definitely on my best tender list in Chicago. They also serve their tenders with every sauce you could ever want. The last time I ate there I left my leftover container on the table by accident and I still have nightmares about it. A recommendation for sure! read more

I honestly really like coming here but today I tried to go ( no reservations) and they were booked. I totally got it and just asked how long the wait would be to see if maybe It was reasonable ...the 2 men at the door were extremely rude and seemed coming to their establishment without a reservation was doing them a disservice and a waste of them even opening their mouth to tell me they were booked for the day. read more

The service here was all over the place. You walk in and have to sit yourself. There was maybe 2 servers for our section. But it took a while for them to come around. I got the 15 dollar unlimited mimosas but since the servers were all over the place I didn't get to utilize the deal. It took about 30 minutes for get my second glass of champagne. We did mention that to the server and she brought me another glass once it hit 1pm since that was the cut of time for the . On the bright side they do have a little section where you can pour your own juice for the mimosas. They had orange, strawberry and mango. They also had fruits on the side. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. It came with a lot of sauces which I liked. The chicken was sort of dry so I basically dipped it in the sauces. My boyfriend got the Stallion pizza. He said it was really good and would recommend getting. This place just needs to be more organized when it comes to a serves and it will an awesome place. read more

Arguably the worst crap I've ever been served. Ordered the honey goat cheese wrap - goat cheese fritters, Asian pear, crispy prosciutto, almond, red onion, with chicken in a roasted garlic vinaigrette. The ACTUAL wrap had a bunch of shredded lettuce and way too much red onion, TWO tiny little goat cheese balls no bigger than a dime, and the "prosciutto" was burnt bacon bits. Dressing was flavorless. And they forgot the chicken. The fries tasted like cardboard. I've had better meals from a community college campus fast food vending machine. Old fashioned was all bourbon and bitters and a friend's prosciutto pizza was an oily, floppy mess with a fist's worth of arugula just piled on top. This place is definitely a "drinks only" bar, should hardly be classified as a restaurant. Just drink here and hit the Taco Bell across the street. read more

I've been to this bar 2 times - once as part of my birthday celebrating during their Kentucky Derby day drink, and another time for dinner. They've impressed me both times! I wasn't expecting much from the buffet at the Derby, but it was great! They had chicken nuggets, pizza, chips, and everything else you would've wanted! They also had bottomless drinks but they were a bit watered down. When I came more recently for dinner, we were seated at a high top booth in the back area. The bartender was very nice, we got a margarita and beer. The margarita was strong but a little too sweet for me! We also both ordered the burger, with fries and Mac and cheese as the side. The smashburger was delicious!! Way better than I thought it would be for bar food, I'd definitely get the burger again. The fries were well seasoned and crispy too, and their ranch was so good!! Mac and cheese was just ok. They also had a live DJ who had a great playlist! We also noticed that they have happy hour on the weekdays, and that on Friday they do free burger with a drink until it sells out! So I will definitely be coming back for those deals! read more

We went here to watch a football game. The bar had several TVs, so no matter where you were sitting you would be able to see a TV. The atmosphere was great with good music. We ordered a handful of apps that were really good. I would recommend Gaslight and I'll be back! read more

PATIO IS OPEN! I've been to Gaslight dozens of times, but returning last night felt extra special, being that it's the first time I've ate out at a restaurant in what? 4 months? They're taking all the proper precautions, which made me feel comfortable -- taking temperature at the door, must wear mask anytime you're not sitting at your table, tables spaced well over 6 feet apart, all staff wearing masks, no physical menus (you scan a QR code on your table and view it on your phone), literally abiding by all the social distancing rules. A+ Gaslight! For food I usually order their buffalo wings! Tender, juicy, and the perfect buffalo spice without being overly hot. I also get a side of buffalo to dip the wings in. Both their boneless and bone in are equally as good. This time we also took the turkey burger which was AMAZING! Melted cheese, avocado, chipotle aioli, with mixed greens on top really hit the spot. And the turkey burger itself was cooked perfectly. For drinks, they make a great Moscow Mule, which is perfect for sipping on a patio on a summer night. They also have a decent beer selection and great game day specials (if those ever return). I've been super reluctant to get back out there, but I was so impressed by Gaslight last night and will continue to support them! Highly recommend. read more

W O W! Delicious! I've come to the bar a few times on a Friday night and it is what it is. I've never had the food from here until tonight. I'm sick of my own cooking during the COVID pandemic so I ordered their classic 4C burger with a side of sweet potato fries for pick up. OMG. Delicious. Perfect. Pickup was quick and CDC compliant. The sweet potato fries were fantastic- cooked perfectly but still stiff; seasoned well. The burger. Omg. So flavorful. The cheese is melted perfectly, the pickles add a nice zing and the double patty is great. Normally when I order a burger for delivery I request the bun on the side so it doesn't disintegrate from steam in transit. I forgot to order the bun on the side so they made the burger normal. The Gaslight Bar has become my go to spot for Sunday football. Not only are there a thousand TVs on the outdoor (but enclosed for warmth!) deck area, they've also got plenty of seating so it's possible to grab a spot in front of your favorite sports team even when it's crowded. The service here is immaculate. Their champagne mimosa bar service was supposed to end thirty minutes after we arrived, but our server Anna made sure to make it worth it by filling our champagne glasses every second we took a sip. Plus she gave us our champagne in a pint glass! Needless to say she got a great tip! The food here is great as well, and I highly recommend getting at least an order of their skin read more

This bar really surprised me. Came here on a Friday with friends and the specials are unreal! Free burgers with every drink, free shots with beer buckets, and half off apps. Food was amazing. I really want to like this place. But I've never really had great experiences here. It's pretty overpriced when you compare it to other bars in the area. Also, the staff is terrible. They take forever to acknowledge you when you sit down, and then they take FOREVER to give you your drink... heaven forbid you order food, too. The staff isn't really friendly either. Everyone seems to be in a hurry and they are apparently always understaffed. Also, the music in here is louder than a nightclub on any given day. Good luck having a conversation here without losing your voice from shouting. The crowd is usually rowdy and belligerent. This place belongs in Wrigleyville. Only giving it 2 stars because of the patio in the summertime.... otherwise it's 1 star from me. read more

I love this place so I wasn't going to leave a review but I still have a bad taste in my mouth from my last time here. When it was time to pay I paid in cash while my friends paid with cards, I never told our waitress my check was good so I assumed when she brought back my friends cards she'd also bring me my change and then I'd leave a tip or she would've mentioned the no change thing, which I then would've added in my tip then Instead when it came time she brought my friends cards back and said to me was everything ok? Pretty condescending..I said yes...confused and then she noted that "I only tipped 10%" (my change from my bill). I explained I assumed I'd get my change back and then tip...I was so embarrassed and felt so awkward, especially to assume I'd tip that in today's climate I come from a family who's in the restaurant industry so I get how hard covid is for restaurant owners and staff, but this encounter just left a really bad taste in my mouth, even though all my other times here have been wonderful so I'm just hoping this message will get relayed to the staff to not do this to someone else ‍ read more

3.5 stars if I could, but the food was good and it was my first visit so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. Stopped in on a Thursday night to meet up with some friends, they had their $20 pitcher and pizza deal (yes, you get a pitcher of beer and a full-size pizza for $20). I got to try the prosciutto pizza, which was delicious-little bit of cheese, thin crust, big slices of prosciutto on top, and arugula. When the pizza came the arugula was just in a pile in the middle of the pizza, so when you took a slice you had to kind of grab some and sprinkle it on your pizza. A little odd, but the arugula did add a nice flavor. The service was slow, and our waitress seemed to scowl at us every time she did happen to come by. Since it was a casual night out it wasn't the biggest deal, but everyone in our group noticed she seemed a little on the cranky side-not enough to dock a whole star, but it was noticeable. Prices were reasonable, especially with the deal we had. I'd love to try more of their pizzas, so I'd definitely go back. read more
