I'm surprised I never wrote a review for Wilde! This place has one of my favorite salads in the entire city - I always get the Chopped Salad that comes with romaine, egg, bacon, rotisserie chicken, onion, tomato, white cheddar cheese, whole grain croutons, with garlic dill dressing. This salad is MASSIVE and so so, so good. The garlic dill dressing I could drink, the croutons are homemade, and there is no shortage of fresh shredded white meat chicken. I want to try their other menu items but I can't seem to stray away from what I already love! Will need to come back here for brunch and report back :) read more

The service was quick and friendly! Tons of seating, both moody and library-esque inside with a bar and outside that is dog-friendly. They also have a jar of dog treats and water available for pups! Overall, the food was tasty! Nothing particularly amazing, although my mom did say the toffee coffee pie was her favorite dessert she'd had in a long time (and she just came back from France/Belgium). Back for round 2 and Wilde was even better than I remembered! We visited near St. Patrick's Day, so things were even more festive and busy than usual. Every time I visit, the decor never ceases to impress. It's classy but unpretentious and you can tell folks are there to have a good time. We arrived at about 8:30pm on a Saturday and it was packed. Luckily, we were able to snag seats at a bar before a table opened up around 9pm. A note that they don't take reservations (but I kind of wish they did!), so this isn't the place to go if you're in a rush. They had a special seasonal menu going for the holiday, and we started with the reuben hush puppies. While they were more like croquettes, they were extra crispy, cheesy, and juicy with the most delicious thousand island dressing. I wish they would offer this year round! For mains, we ordered the corned beef and buddha bowl. I really liked the horseradish aioli that came with the beef- while the meat could've been more tender, it had a great flavor overall. The cabbage actually tasted pickled and the carrots sweet; non-traditional, but tasty! The buddha bowl had a very wide range of veggies and perfectly cooked rice. I could drink that spicy peanut sauce. I appreciated how large the portions were, which definitely softened the price as we left with plenty of leftovers. All in all, we had a great experience- if you haven't checked Wilde out, I highly recommend doing so! read more

We were out and about in Lincoln Park on a Saturday and walked by Wilde. I looked pretty happening, so we stopped in for a drink. Well, we ended up having two drinks and an order of fried cheese curds and an order of Ruben Quiche. We hit their last hour of brunch. I also had an Irish coffee and my wife had a campfire martini before we each had a Manhattan. Service was friendly and the food and drinks were excellent. The place was busy when we got there and busy when we left, so they're doing something right. read more

We tried: - Ellsworth Cheese Curds - Backyard BBQ Ribs (1/2 slab) - Baked French Onion Soup - Haddock Sandwich - Fish & Chips The food was great, no complaints. We were sat in the "library" section so the table was a bit low. I saw some people hanging out and just reading a book with a drink, which was a choice and I respect it. Irish pub that is more upscale than expected. Cool atmosphere with a bar, several seating areas separated by partial walls, one area is actually lined with books. Can get the standard sandwiches, burgers, or fish & chips - but also things like Scottish salmon, chicken curry, BBQ ribs, and something called a Buddha Bowl (rice, kale, peanut sauce, edamame, and choice of meat/fish). Super cozy spot with lots to look at. Gorgeous ceilings and wonderful booths all around. We came in a little before 2pm and they still served brunch! It was pretty loud but service was friendly and food came quickly. I started with a bloody mary garnished with cheese and pepperoncini. It was delicious and well mixed! I was surprised to see that it came with a "little buddy" beer sidecar! My friend liked her mimosa and loved the heart shaped strawberry garnish. Our food was really great, everything tasted fresh and I was amazed by the perfectly circular poached eggs. Well house-made hollandaise and the smoked salmon was good. Recommend the cheesy grits! My friend's potato's were very good with caramelized onions and they liked the eggs but could've used more peppers or herbs. They were impressed with their sausage. Went to this restaurant around on Monday at 8 pm and it was decently empty, the ambiance was nice it's the books and old feel and our waitress was very nice and helpful. I got the meatloaf which I heard was supposed to be one of their better dishes but it ended up being not too tasty. The gravy really overpowered the meatloaf taste so it was basically just gravy tasting meat, I couldn't even finish it. Another person in my group got a chicken salad and it wasn't that good either. Look Wilde is an institution on Lakeview East for a reason. Nothing but the best quality cuts of meats and veggies smothered in butter or Cheese or both if they can get away with. Portions are Huge. The Asian chicken salad will easily feed two(no butter or cheese). The dressing subtle, did not overwhelm this dish ensemble. Lobster mac & cheese is back in their special menu. my friend and i love that they have gluten free items and vegetarian items on the menu. everything was delicious.

Overall, it was not bad. I think we just got a bad waiter. He was so unattentive and not paying attention, he got our order wrong and basically never even checked in on us. I came here for dinner! They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is Irish pub themed, so think dark brown wood and leather seats. The three of us were seated in a wraparound booth, so I liked that type of seating. I ordered the blackened chicken club, which was around $18. Had been wanting to come here for a while and it was the perfect spot to bring my family! I went came for lunch and they really have something for everyone. The inside is pretty dark but huge and it was nice that they had the from windows open during the day. I got the southwest salad as a wrap with sweet potato fries and it was pretty good! Not the best salad wrap I've ever had but a substantial size and good fries. My brother got a burger which he really liked and my dad got a fish sandwich. I'd like to come back for dinner because unfortunately they didn't have the curry on their lunch menu and I loveee curry. The curry mussels was served with ample bread to soak it up. The artichoke dip was good with plenty of cheese but nothing special. The flourless cake was dense, chocolaty and melted in your mouth. This review is for bar service only. I used to grab takeout here for a client who loved the shepherd's pie. Smelled lovely, but I never had a chance to taste it. My husband and I were looking for a place to hang after a Cubs win, and I remembered how much I wanted to go to Wilde when I had time to enjoy the ambiance. It's a high-toned space without being pretentious. They have really taken the time to create a cozy environment that amalgamates casual and classy to a distinct degree. Staff are so great. They treated us well as we sipped our beers, and they were always great to me when I did pickup orders for the aforementioned client who was too cheap to give me money for a tip. I always felt the need to explain the slight, and whichever employee handed off the order understood about the tip without looking down on me for it. I will forever be grateful for that. I look forward to when we are in the mood for a nice meal while in the area. We will certainly stop in again. read more

Updating review with the same rating may seem odd, but it increasingly felt like food quality was decreasing post-pandemic and that the gastro pub prices weren't worth it, but I think it's gone from being a more frequent go-to option to being a bit more of an event with friends. The atmosphere is still top notch even if the food has become a bit more average. Service is always really friendly even if a bit slow - guess they really want you to order that second pint of Guinness. This place has tanked. Used to be a cozy spot for hearty food and cocktails. The quality of both has dropped drastically, but not enough to drop it to a one star. I went there the night before halloween, pretty close to closing, totally understandable the kitchen wouldn't be open. Our server was legit rude, and *didn't clean the table* when we sat.
