Be careful who you see! I saw Dr Le for the original consult and colonoscopy/endoscopy. He rates 5 for professionalism, communication, and bedside manner. I had to see Suraweera for results- which he actually did not give me. He did not answer my questions well. He had not even looked at my chart. I handed him a copy of a previous endoscopy but he did not even read that until I pointed something out. When I looked up from my notes, he was at the door. I asked him to sit down but he said he could not and left. He rates ZERO . I called the office mgr and stopped by to talk to her about the visit. She never called back. If I could put a "0" I would. The nurses treat you poorly and are very rude. I was given a list a medications and also ones to buy. I was given one by the pharmacy not on my list. I wanted to question the nurse. I got treated like a child and forced to go through the packet instead of answering my question. Turns out I bought the over the counter meds and the pharmacy gave me a generic of the same but the label did not say it was a generic for anything. Simple answer to a question but instead treated like a child. The second issue is getting a hold of this office. Whomever is answering the phones needs to be replaced. Instead of asking if we can be put on hold, she says something so fast that I cannot understand it and then it goes to hold. Instead of picking the calls up in order it rings again and once again I am put on hold by someone whom talks so fast that I cannot understand what they said. Then they were told to contact my wife and to stop calling me because I work a lot and they do not listen. I was on a business trip and they were calling me over and over. I was in meetings and had to turn off my phone. I asked my wife later if they had called her and of course they did not. They need to replace their staff with nicer people. GOOD LUCK with a getting someone on the phone, let alone to call you back to schedule an appointment or a procedure. Their phone lines open at 8:30 am. I called around 8:45 am, left a voicemail. Waited until about 10 am, and called again, and left another voicemail. Thereafter I called about every hour, and left a voicemail, every single time. I even faxed them, asking they call me. Get this, I managed to press enough options, that I actually spoke to a young female. I explained to her the challenges I was facing, and she put me on hold to see if she could get the team responsible for scheduling appointments to assist me. I figured she would hand up on me, but to her credit, she did not. However, she too was surprised she couldn't get hold of anyone - imagine that! She works there and she couldn't get a team member of hers to assist her and me. Either way she took my info down, so they could call me. Well it's near closing time, and I've yet to receive a call back. I guess I'll need to contact the City of Hope, and inform them that the facility they referred me to, is slow on getting back to me. Maybe the City of Hope will have better luck getting through, and letting the doctors at this place of the poor customer/patience service their office staff is providing. read more

Scheduled for a colonoscopy but unable to do it because instructions for medication were not provided. Initially spoke with Cindy who had to cancel my initial appt and reschedule it due to the Dr only doing procedures on Mondays. Additionally I was scheduled for 7:30 am. I made it clear that I had another procedure that day. After someone left a message saying my procedure was at 10am. I had to call the office twice to have the medication sent to my pharmacy for the procedure only to not have the procedure done because instructions were not provided for the medication. I asked Cindy to speak to the office mgr. Her name is Stephanie. She didn't return my call. This was on a Friday. It's already hard enough to get through to this clinic. Called them at least 10 times the following Monday with no answer. On Tuesday someone called me and left a message in regards to the instructions for the medication? This was after I already had to miss the procedure. When I finally spoke with the girl she asked me how could she help me although she had left me a message. After finally getting rescheduled and the instructions sent to me via email (not sure why Cindy couldn't do that) I asked again to speak to the office manager. When she got on the phone she said, This is Stephanie. She already had an attitude and didn't even know me. I told her the only reason she was speaking to me is because the previous girl transferred me. She never intended to call me back. I asked her why Cindy was unable to provide me with instructions for the medication and she said that Cindy was out sick and made an excuse about being short staffed and having to run a clinic. As if I care. It had nothing to do with the fact that when I was on the phone with Cindy she could have emailed them to me like the girl just did that I spoke with (Iliana) Stephanie said, well thank you for the feedback. Not sure why she has an attitude but I'll be calling my insurance to get another GI doctor. No one has to deal with people who don't know how to do their job and have the nerve to have an attitude just because I asked to speak with them. That's part of YOUR job. read more

You're placed on hold until the call disconnects no chance for voicemail and if you have an extension to your doctor's assistant the voicemail doesn't let you leave a message and responds with thank you for using the voicemail system. I have been seen and followed by "Dr. D" for many years. In this time I have come to know him as a compassionate caretaker and thorough practitioner. His manner is always relaxed and easy to understand because he takes time to explain what the processes or other matters of the gut are a part of what your current issue is. He is a "big picture" doctor with a very detailed way of approaching the vast array of Gastro issues and maladies he works with and helps put one on the road to cure from. Most recently I had been in my local Emergency Room after not having a BM for a horrifying TEN DAYS! The ER doc had no idea and basically handed me some pain meds (which actually exacerbate conditions line mine!!!) and discharged me. After hearing about this episode, asking probing questions about my other medical issues, and reviewing my history, Dr. D looked up and indicated that I may be suffering from Chronic Intestinal Pseudo-obstruction (CIP), which is a rare, potentially disabling gastrointestinal disorder. He immediately got me "moving" again with the proper diet, medications and treatment!!! While I may suffer with this condition for the rest of my life, I am grateful that I have a Gastroenterologist that I can count on to take the time, do the research and help me work out a plan for my care. I cannot stress enough what a Godsend our community here in Southern California has in this amazing medical practitioner and human-being. THANK YOU DR. D!!! read more

As of 8:24 I haven't experienced much of the facility but from what I have experienced has earned the one star review. First, when you call in to try to schedule an appointment don't expect to talk to anyone quickly. I called, was put on hold for at least 10 minutes, then was put on another hold only to be directed to a voice mail that was not taking messages. I called back and asked not to be put on hold only to be put on hold again. Today (08/10/2020) is my appointment day. I arrived a little before 8:30 to only find out they open at exactly 8:30. I was greeted by a RUDE receptionist who informed me that despite having a 9:00 appointment I probably won't be seen until 9:15 since the doctors are doing rounds at the hospital. Once I was allowed into the office, again I had to deal with the rude receptionist who gave me an attitude because I wasn't aware I was suppose to fill out my patient information online. Regarding COVID precautions, so far through all my registration NONE of their employees are wearing masks, checking temperatures, or even asking for hand washing. The only thing they've done is ask if I have been exposed to COVID. As of 9:00, not much of a surprise but I have yet to be called back into a room or even have anyone really acknowledge my presence. Though I did notice a few of their nurses are actually wearing mask. Guess they only are required to wear masks if they have to directly deal with patients. There are currently three patients (including myself) waiting in the waiting room, two have been helped but one patient is waiting for the receptionist to acknowledge her so she can check in. Rather then even helping patients, they are having a meeting which in my opinion should be done before opening hours when there are no patients present. As of 9:06, there are now 5 patients in the office and only two of which have been helped. The meeting is still ongoing and patients are able to hear what is being discussed. As of 9:10, they finally finished their meeting but have yet to begin to call patients back to begin their examine or acknowledge the patients that entered the facility during their meeting. After three minutes of just sitting at her desk, the receptionist finally proceeded to help the patients who showed up during their meeting. It is 9:15, and I still haven't been called back despite having the first appointment of the day (or so their receptionist claimed). The thought of leaving has crossed my mind multiple times already. I understand most medical facilities are slow, but this is ridiculous. Finally at 9:20, I got called back to a room for my vitals where the nurse didn't even try to verify my identity. I must say I have a negative opinion of facilities who do not take a blood pressure manually because I feel that the machines are inaccurate. Well, after the nurse took my blood pressure it was EXTREMELY high with the electronic machine (numbers I have never ran before and could potentially be alarming if they are correct [165/141]), but rather then recheck it she just said it was high and didn't bother to redo it to see if the number was accurate. It is now 9:43, I have been in the examine room for a little over 23 minutes and have yet to see a doctor or nurse. Wondering if I was forgot about. Finally at 9:54 I got to see a doctor who didn't even spend a minute in the room. He was literally in and out of the room. Didn't even listen to a word I said. read more

I'm sure the Doctors providing care are adequate, but I will never know as I never met any of them and their staff are totally incompetent. After speaking with the Doctor, I was told the office would contact me regarding an appointment. After several attempts to communicate with them I was told they were having "phone issues". They never did schedule an appointment for me, but in the meantime charged my insurance company close to $300 for a 5 minute telephone pre-consult. They also told me my copay was $30 and invoiced me for $40. I have spoke with the billing department at least three times and was told they would call me back to resolve this issue. They never did. Please save yourself the time, money and energy and find a clinic that puts its patients first as this one does not. read more

I am a Dr. D patient I had a very bad experience with him. First he was very short with my consultation didn't seem to help at all. Then he sent me to another provider his partner so they could see me because according to him he doesn't see Certain patients with certain diagnosis. So my question is why was I being seen by him if all he did was "throw me " to another provided. This is the second time Dr. D Calls my house at six and 7 PM on a random day asking if I wanna go back for my procedure or if I wanna follow up appointment. What kind of "professional" office calls you so late and starts asking you personal information? . I feel scared to go back to this office and to see dr d. You can tell he is very sick health wise , he should re tired . He can't keep up with himself or his health its noticeable. I complain to The office and was told by staff that he was going to be talk to about this but seems like nobody talk to him about it because today I had another call from him same thing wanting me to go back to the office and do my procedure. The office is such a problem. The people I was able to speak to were rude and incompetent. They billed me for an office visit when in reality I had called the day after a procedure with a question about something the doctor told me about the procedure results. I specifically informed them that I just had a question and this was not a follow-up appointment. I was told that this was "fine". Unfortunately, they are apparently only out to make a buck. This is totally unethical and deceitful. I left a few messages for the office manager when I had surprisingly received a bill for a copay, but never got a return call. However, "Martha" did call me to claim they are sending me to collections for $30 and refused to acknowledge the fact that they made the mistake. I explained the situation only to be given excuses about why they refuse to remove the charge. Not once did she acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, they made a mistake. Or even offering an apology for not returning my several calls. No customer service, no accountability, and no care to even want to try to resolve the problem.
