Dealing with Gastro One has been nothing short of a nightmare. The level of disorganization is astounding, and trying to get anything done--whether it's scheduling, getting a response, or accessing records--is a complete hassle. You're passed around, ignored, or treated rudely, and no one seems to be on the same page. It's no surprise that doctors are leaving this place left and right. The office staff is uncooperative and dismissive, and any sense of patient care or professionalism seems to have gone out the window. I have been deeply, deeply disappointed with the service of Gastro One. First of all, I can never get to see my doctor. I saw my doctor only ONCE and thereafter -- over 4 years, I was assigned to a nurse practitioner (unless I was willing to wait 3 months for an appointment with a real doctor). This is totally unacceptable. Secondly you have to wait an eternity before you can get a human being on the telephone and subjected to endless recordings. If you're lucky enough to reach a person and ask for a call back, either the call back never comes or it comes several days later. I think that I can get better service in a Third World country. Gastro One is the worst medical center I have ever experienced in my entire life and I'm 77 years old! The phones and front desk are chaotic and inefficient. I made an appointment for my adult son (younger than 20) to be seen and it's been a dumpster fire. Appointment was made this morning at 7:45 am for today at 1pm. Apparently, they called my son at 8:30 while he was in class but did not leave a message. We arrive and are filling out paperwork and pay for the appointment before the front desk lady figured out Gastro One had cancelled the appointment. No reason, no explanation. I have tried calling twice to give this feedback to the office manager and am running in circles just to reach them. So, unless you have nothing better to do than run on a hamster wheel and get nowhere, go elsewhere. We ended up going to an urgent care, were seen, and we won't be back to Gastro One. read more

I had to bring my elderly parent in for a procedure they were nice and crowded we had to wait a bit but once they got her in it was smooth sailing she had no problems no issues she was excited about the successful procedure and was ready to get home the staff was friendly and helpful read more

I'm only giving two stars (and not one) because Dr. Wooten is a good doctor. His nurse practitioner, however, suuuuuucks. She is rude, and as a patient I got stuck with her a lot because Wooten is so booked up. Unless you have something easy to diagnose, or you just want meds for "IBS", don't come here. They're good at doing routine things but not great at figuring out anything complicated. And they WILL get impatient with you if their treatment plan (drugs) don't work. I won't pay for this kind of "care" anymore. I've had digestive issues and intermittent pain for years. They haven't figured me out yet. Time to move along. read more

Extremely long wait times & rude NP, but even worse is I contracted c. diff. from a procedure there. Not intentional, of course, but considering I had 5 visits & 3 procedures to a group of GI specialists & wasn't tested for it causes me a great deal of consternation. Hospitalized for 6 days with c. diff.; in excruciating pain after vomiting & diarrhea about 30 times beginning about 3:30am the following morning after the procedure performed on a Friday. Went to the ER Saturday & was admitted. The doc at Gastro One who did the procedure called my cell the following Tuesday (the 4th day of my hospitalization for c. diff.) to give me the results of the procedure he did. My spouse answered my phone because I was so sick/weak/in pain. Said doc took umbrage upon hearing the news of my c. diff. diagnosis; becoming immediately defensive. I now choose to share the information so people who take time to read reviews will at least be informed. When you cram in so many patients (the cause for the extremely long wait times), there's bound to be slip-ups. Now living with a life-threatening disease, forever plagued by repercussions from it, never will I ever recommend Gastro One to anybody. read more

Some people there have been very nice. I'm sure the doctors are more than competent. However, the kid I spoke to on the phone was the rudest, most condescending, and least compassionate person I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with on the phone. It wouldn't matter if the Doctors there were curing cancer, covid, and old age with one visit. That person destroyed any chance I'll come back to them. Oh well. An obnoxious receptionist. Dr Wooten is fantastic. He listens and takes a pragmatic approach to what you need. It can be very lengthy to get an appt which I guess is always the case. It also slow to get back there once you show up, but again pretty standard. The lone reason it's not a 5 star is when I needed a refill in my script it took 4 phone calls before anyone did anything which was very frustrating m. We arrived early for my 8am appt for an endoscopy with Dr Younes. We were pleasantly greeted at the door. We waited only a few minutes before being called back. The staff work together well like a well oiled machine in tandem. I'm a frequent patient due to some unusual health issues. Several of the staff remembered me and came by to speak to me even though they weren't assigned to my case. I felt very welcomed and confident in their care. The nurse who started my IV inserted it totally pain-free. It was seriously the least painful stick I've ever had. I'm an infusion RN myself, so I'm very critical of anyone sticking me. The procedure went off without a hitch. Dr Younes first came by when I was still asleep. He waited and came back after I was good and awake to tell me about what he found during the procedure. He was very pleasant and answered our questions fully. I always leave Gastro One feeling confident and pleased with the care received. My case is highly unusual and Dr Younes is very dedicated to trying to improve my quality of life. I recommend him highly. The staff is always attentive and friendly. The offices and restrooms are clean. I would not change a thing. read more

This is my review from (copied from FB): They scheduled me for a procedure a few weeks ago, then called me less than 24 hours before my appointment to reschedule it because the doctor had a "conflict." My husband and I had both made arrangements with our job so that we could be off, so we had to rearrange our schedules. Then the very next day (today) they called me to reschedule again! If they are not even competent enough to schedule an appointment, I do not trust them with my medical issues. I will be going elsewhere. Also, they have a sign that says they are perfume and fragrance free, which is great because fragrances give me a headache. But the lady behind the desk was using a huge bottle of perfumed lotion... Today they called me again to tell me the results of a test I had two weeks ago. This is the third time they have called me with these test results. Last time was last week. Severe organizational problems going on here. read more

I was so nervous when Dr Carles Surles told me that I needed a colonoscopy and a endoscopy. Being that I have never had any type of procedure like that before I was freaking out!! However, days before my procedure I can honestly say that Gastro one was there for me any time I called with questions, they sincerely made me feel so comfortable before my procedure by always being there for me! (By the way the prep is really not as bad as you read on the Internet! The day before the prep I made sure I ate soft foods thus making prep day easier oh and DRINK PLENTY OF WATER) The day of my procedure I was quite nervous but as soon as I got there ALL the staff made me feel like I was family to them, very caring and attending to all my needs. Arrived early at 8:15 for a 9:25 colonoscopy only to be told that I didn't have an appointment for it. I had the package sent from them and the prescription from them for the prep. Next they tried to blame Tricare for not giving them the correct referral and eventually blamed my PCP. I had several people treating me rudely and unprofessionally and was being herded off away from other people. My PCP made sure I had an approved referral from Tricare dated 08/03/21. They still claimed I had no appointmen, but they could not explain who had sent me the prep package or who had put in the prescription. Now, I wait. They claim the doctor is still going to do the procedure today. We will see? Also, don't be fooled by the photos. The check in room, which is as far as I've gotten so far, is nasty. The doctors and sx suite personnel may be great, but the administration is about the most disorganized, rude, and unprofessional group of people I've ever seen. Never thought I'd have to argue my way into a colonoscopy, but, I just can't bear anything this disorganize. read more

This review is for the 8000 wolf river location. If you can't afford to be away from work for 2.5 hours for a doctor's appointment, avoid this place like the plague. I waited for over an hour to see the doctor. Plus, they request that you come in a half an hour early. So, if I didn't get lost on the way here I would've been waiting for over an hour and a half. By the time the doctor saw me it was already 7 minutes to 5 (my appt was scheduled for 3:30), and he was unable to have any blood work done because the lab was already closed. While the doctor was nice, I will not be going back to this place. read more

Gastro One and specifically Dr. James Rutland are great. I have what is known as a difficult case. The staff and Dr. Rutland always work with me. They work very hard to find solutions to make me feel better, quickly. When I am in distress they get me in to be seen quickly. They are very caring and compassionate. They all know me not only by face but by name. They even know my husband by name. No matter how difficult my case got they did not tire of working with me they still strove to find new solutions to make me feel better. Dr. Rutland is very thorough and kind. He listens to you and takes what you say into consideration. He explains things very clearly. I have had both colonoscopies and endoscopes at the center and all have been done very well. All the staff there are also very kind and professional. read more

First two appts went extremely well. Staff is very friendly. However on third appt after multiple texts and emails to confirm my appt they had no record of my scheduled visit after showing up on the day of my visit. The doctors are overbooked. They barely have any time to spend with you. It feels like an assembly line in there. If they do make some time to listen (key word), they're rude in their response manner. Questions are NOT welcome. Don't even think about advocating for your health or engaging in a dialogue about different courses of treatment. It's almost like you're an idiot for even suggesting it! It's unfortunate that doctors can make patients feel like an incredible nuisance! The office managers don't know how to actually run an office. Frequent waits of up to 45 minutes past your appointment time. The appointment desk shows no empathy when you bring the delay up to their attention. There's just no respect for you as a patient or your time. Why anyone would invest any time or energy in receiving care here is beyond me. read more

My doctor is affiliated with Gastro One so I used the diagnostic center that they own. I was a little reluctant at first as it appeared to be very busy, but, my fears faded quickly. The center was prompt and efficient, the staff friendly, caring, and competent. I was allowed to have my driver/friend/family member stay with me throughout the majority of my time at the center, which made the experience much more tolerable. (Did I mention that I hate doctors and medical facilities) The staff was efficient at checking me in, so fast that I ended up waiting just a bit before it was time to go to the back area. Once there, the nurses and assistants were methodical and again fast. My doctor came in and reviewed the procedures that he would be doing and made sure to answer any and all questions that I had. Once it was time to go back the staff in the procedure room was warm and friendly, they actually joked with me about the equipment and procedure. (hey, I was there for a colonoscopy, a little humor was needed and appreciated!) All and all the procedures took less than thirty minutes. After the procedure I awoke to a nurse and my driver/friend/family member. It was nice to see a face that I knew. Within about fifteen minutes the doctor came in again and discussed his findings and what followup would be needed (luckily my I had someone with me to pay attention to what was said as I was still just a bit groggy). Within thirty minutes I was awake, coherent, and ready to go. All and all a very pleasant experience for someone who really didn't want to be there and dreaded having to go. Having been to several surgery/diagnostic type centers in the last year or so, I would rate them as far better than most. read more

Left work for my appointment but on arrival was told I was at the wrong place, I had to go to another Gastro One further away I told them that there was no way I would have booked at another location even farther from my job, .When I finally arrived I was told to update my medical info because they had a computer upgrade. Really? I was not a new patient! I told the staff I had to go back to work, this was a mistake because everyone seemed to move even more slowly .The nurse who did my vital signs asked me how was everything and I replied I have been better and she said oh that's good. She did not even listen to my response. Clearly she had the same response for everyone like a zombie I sat in the room waiting for 25minutes while the staff laughed and talked outside my door. I should have left but the doctor came in and ordered a test that was really inappropriate obviously to generate income. I could not have been a worse experience avoid the Gastro One!. read more
