The technician is very knowledgeable, and friendly, but he charges his service very expensive. He charged me $ 350 dollars plus taxes for 40 minutes of labor. Then one day after, the speakers, and microphone were disconnected of the computer. I called him again,and he told me his price was again $ 350 plus taxes. So, it is difficult to pay $ 800 dollars for a job that is done in one hour and 5 minutes. I understand inflation is high but there should be some kind of consideration with the customers. In any case yellow pages advertises the charge of $150 per hour, and that does include the commute of the technician to the site. In conclusion I got another technician who came to add the speakers and microphone to my computer in 15 minutes, he charged me $140.00dollars. I do not recommend this busines. read more

You need to go to GatecomUSA for a repair. I truly couldn't recommend this store enough. The owner, Stephan, is down-to-earth and amazingly sincere for someone with amazing skills. I had a refurbished PS4 Pro that I had accidentally ripped the PSU pads completely off from the motherboard. As a refurb, it already had been soldered once before by a previous owner, with PSU wire melted and solder everywhere except on the pads. I was ready to give up hope, looking at the poor condition of the board. I asked around however, and a number of stores quoted me a price with long disclaimers before even looking at my board. Stephan was the only one that cared to look at pictures first, and when I came in with the board because I was hoping for a miracle, he offered to look at it and see if he could fix it without a deposit! I had to insist he take some payment because he was spending his time to help, but he said it was more important for him to do a job well over anything else. I was completely in awe of his empathy, extensive knowledge, and business ethic. And he gave me my miracle, because he managed to microsolder my broken board somehow and brought my system back to life! He's like a doctor for tech, full of knowledge, amazing bedside manners, and surgical hands. And even though he knew how much the system meant to me, as it's my only source of entertainment when I have any free time, he offered me a good price. He just amazed me time and time again, with his skills and his humble, kind, and sincere approach to his craft. My Dell G15 gaming laptop died on me, less than two years old. It froze, and it would only power up for three seconds and then shut off, blank screen. I tried to fix it myself, I discharged the power and did multiple resets, replaced the ram, disconnected the wifi, nothing. I wanted to try a local repair shop first before sending it to Dell. Saw the reviews here and dropped it off. I was pretty sure it was a hardware problem, and I wasn't hopeful, or was expecting a steep repair cost. Well, after four days, it was fixed! I was utterly shocked! They said the video card connection, the pins connecting with the motherboard, somehow got messed up, but they got it working again. I was so thankful as the repair price was reasonable and very fair. I felt they spent a lot of time working on my laptop, with frequent phone call updates. I saw the store when I was driving by. Love the yellow and blue design! I went to fix my phone screen once and then it became my electronic devices supply store. I am not a tech savvy so if there is anything I wanna buy I will just go to the store and let them recommend for me. They are true professionals. Do not bother with this place!!!! Rude Rude Rude customer service. I asked for tape for the box I was shipping, clerk's response "one is enough". I asked for him to place it anyway and he yelled at me. Saying it wasn't his job. I asked if he wanted money for the tape, he said he didn't want my money and would not add the tape. When I said the items in the box are my responsibility, he finally added the tape. All of this for tape!! He doesn't like to be bothered. The first time I went in I needed a box and paid for it. He said I should'nt come in to ask for these items as he has work to do. So why not say I don't have those items to sell? Instead he is nasty to customers. Do not bother with this place. The workers at Gatecom are very nice and friendly but it still doesn't make up for the near 3 months wasted on attempting to fix my MacBook. I needed a screen replacement and they did it but a few days later the new screen would start acting up. I gave it back and they "fixed" it again but a few days later it did the same thing. This back and forth cycle of fixing my computer, having it for a few days, noticing it was faulty, and returning it went on for almost 3 months. If I could go back in time I would've just bought a new computer and saved myself all the frustration. They were nice and gave back a refund but took a $110 service fee. All in all, they are very nice people and you should definitely go here because the reviews are phenomenal but this was just my experience. read more

I have a Razer blade pro 17 and was trying to remove the screws from the backplate but stripped some of them. I messaged them on Yelp and they responded fairly quick (within a couple of hours) with a quote. I went in and the person working the store (who I assume is the owner) takes a quick look at my laptop, went to the back and took about 10-20 minutes (I wasn't paying attention to the time) and came back with the screws out and gave me replacement screws also. I came into this store a few years ago and being from an IT background I was very skeptical of pc repair shops taking advantage of people that weren't familiar with the pc. While speaking to the owner Stephan he gained my trust pretty quickly. He was patient and explained everything that I needed to know and what I could fix now and what I could fix later. In total over the years Stephan has fixed my main computer 3 times and 2 of my parents computers. Who ever I refer him to always comes back and tells me what a great job he does. One time I needed a new work computer and i only wanted to spend $300, after I told him what what I needed it for work and it had to be light, fast and sleek he recommends the Samsung NP900. I said ok without hesitation, the computer came out to be $900, 3 times over my budget but I trusted him. When I went to pay the next day I realized that I didn't even do any research, before heading to the store i checked all the major websites and geek websites and they were all $950 and more, some even selling for $1k. To make a long story short, this work comes with me on my vacations and out of town work and I would have made the purchase again given the chance. If you put your full trust in Stephan he does not ever take that for granted. Since then I purchased a ps4 head phone and other such items all below market value. Today was my first time going to Gatecom. Last night my video card's fan stopped working and I had stopped by this morning to see whether or not they would be able to repair it. While they do video card fan repairs, they didn't have the right fan and wouldn't be able to get it either. So I had told them that I would be back later in the day to consider a replacement video card. So I called them a little later to get some information on what they have in stock and get their website to take a look at and the lady on the phone (I should've gotten her name) was super helpful and walked through a bunch of the options with me as well as letting me know what they had in stock that might not be on the website just yet. Fast forward a little and I pick up a new video card and take it home with me after the owner tells me that some power sources have trouble with that particular card... well I take it home and it doesn't work. By that time it's nearly 8 and they close at 9... so I call and ask if they can take a look at it for me... AND get it back to me tonight - which he says is possible, but doubtful. So I bring it in anyway with about 45 minutes to go before they close. I decide to wait in the store and hope that they have some information for me so maybe I can take my computer home and fix it myself. So I'm chatting with the owner and his wife and 9:00 rolls around... and they keep working on it. They actually even apologized for not giving me my computer back or something to that affect and all I could do was tell them how great it was of them to stay late so that I could get my computer back. They ended testing each individual part of my computer to make sure that the problem was indeed my power supply and ONLY my power supply; replaced the power supply for me and rewired everything to the new power supply. First off, their prices are competitive (parts, merchandise). Their service rates are awesome. If you take the work to geek squad they'd charge you at least 3x as much. What really made me write this review though is that I didn't feel at any point that I was being upsold. The owner gave me a heads up beforehand with the issues that some people have with that video card and then they stayed late so that I could leave with my computer the same night. This is definitely a local business that I will be supporting in the future, it's great to have amazing service and honest people at a local business like this. read more

It's nice to have a local computer store that has fair prices and knowledgeable staff. It's also kind of nice to have a local mom-and-pop operation you can support while also receiving the service you need. I've had some old PCs and laptops that I have brought over there for repair, data retrieval after crashes, etc. I've also purchased headsets, flash drives and a Wi-Fi adapter there. Everything always works as they say. They aren't afraid to recommend a cheaper product that is effective. At least twice they recommended a cheaper product that got the job done. They are friendly, professional, easy to talk to and you can always get someone on the phone. I would have no problem telling people to go there to get their computer fixed or to pick up something you need for the computer. If you're anything like me, you don't want to have to wait 3 or 4 days for a desired peripheral or whatever to come in the mail. It's quaint and pleasant taking my business over here.
