My daughter's headphone probe broke in the jack and although the iPad worked great there was no sound. We took the relatively new iPad to Apple. They took it to the back for five minutes and came back telling us that nothing could be done and it was a write off. We should invest in a new iPad. I looked up the iPhone repair shop on Yelp. Based on the good feedback this business had gotten on Yelp, I left my laptop with this repair shop nearly three months ago with what I thought was a fairly easy-to-fix problem. I got the runaround from Jeovanny for about four weeks explaining why he hadn't yet been able to diagnose the issue, before he finally gave me a quote and I authorized the repair. But for the last two months he has been ghosting me. I have left at least 20 messages on his voicemail, and gone to the shop at least 10 times to try to pick up my computer. But Jeovanny never answers his phone nor is he ever in his shop. I'm not sure whether or not they have gone out of business, but it is pretty clear that he has stolen my laptop. I will try reporting them to the 112th precinct to see if I can get anywhere, but I think I'm out of luck. Avoid this business at all costs. read more

This has got be the worst business of its kind. I took my phone in to have the microphone repaired. Jovanny, the proprietor, set up an appointment for me the day before yesterday and he wasn't even at the store... no one was even there. So when I called him he apologized and set a new appointment for the next day which was yesterday. So again he was wasn't at the store and when I called him he he told me to leave my phone at the Fur Place next door and that he would pick it up , do the repair, and then bring the phone to my home that night. Well he never showed up at my house and he didn't even pick up the phone from the fur place next door!! I brought my Coach bifold leather wallet here due to it being in dire need of repair. It has extremely high sentimental value to me so throwing it out and getting a new one was not an option. It is approximately 10-years-old as of the time of this writing and it previously needed stitching on the front next to some of the card slots, parts around the folding area had holes, the interior where the magical green pieces of paper go had ripped and was flapping around, and it was generally dirty and in need of a cleaning. I dropped my wallet off in late October. Lev, the leather repair maestro who apparently is not here all the time, worked his magic on my wallet. Apparently something came up, delaying my repair to a total of three weeks or so. When I got the wallet back, to say I was pleased was like saying water is wet; it looked like new. Everything I mentioned was repaired, he said he had "shrunk the leather because it was stretched out" or something to that effect, and he replaced the ID window's plastic because it was so scuffed up. The original estimate had been $35, but I had dropped it off when he was not there, so he had not seen it. Due to two necessary patches around the fold he did not know of, it was $45. I gladly paid it, because I am going to reiterate my 10-year-old Coach wallet looked brand new. So yes, in this era of disposable everything, if you want to buck the trend and hang on to your quality possessions instead of just tossing your cheap item in the trash and engaging in more mindless consumerism to obtain a replacement cheap item, if you have something leather that needs to be repaired, such as a wallet, shoes, a purse, etc., head to The Repair Shop and ask for Lev. Be advised that it may take some time for him to work his magic, but the wait will be worth it. read more

I have to say, this guy have skills. As someone who takes apart her phone a lot, I screwed up one time and broke my flex cable, specifically the vibrator switch, when I switched to a new battery the third time. So I just need to replace it, how hard can it be? Well, according to iFixit, pretty damn hard. The cable is placed in a way that you pretty much have to take apart the whole iPhone just to replace it. Estimated time? 2 hours. Let's get a professional. So I Yelped it and found this place. Lots of decent reviews, some bad ones, and a discount deal. But they were mainly about broken screens. My issue is kinda different. - Note that this place is inside the MetroPCS. There was no visible signage, just a phone repair sign. I left my phone unlocked this receptionist without seeing the technician, who told me to come back an hour later. I came back exactly an hour later, and saw the technician still at work. Left and gave him another hour. - One hour later, I came back and got my phone and she was ready to charge. I tested the button. It didn't work. "Um, it's not fixed." So I explained the problem again. "Come back in two hours." Worry and turmoil continues. - Two hours later, it's finally fix! Oh, my beloved iPhone, I'm sorry about the damage, I'll be more careful next time! They forgot the screws and my case. I only noticed the case before I left. -The next day when I tried to FaceTime, I realized the mic wasn't working. But normal phone calls are okay. The noise cancellation mic was having issues. And it's right next to the switch. Oh boy. - I brought it back the following day and he troubleshooted again, free of charge. He spent over 5 hours total on my phone, not resting until the problem was fixed. That's dedication. Finally, everything was back to normal. I will never mistreat my phone again.
