I had an item I needed cleaned. I was not told upfront the price of a cleaning and was told that a manager would call me with the details. I didn't receive a call, so I went to the store. They had already cleaned and boxed my item and the price they told me was extremely expensive. I was shocked and asked why I didn't receive a call or a price ahead of time. I was told I needed to speak to a manger. When I did speak to the manager he was very unkind and kept interrupting me. He said he called me but it always went to voicemail. He said he doesn't leave voicemails. I explained they I don't answer unknown numbers and many people do not. If he had left a voicemail I would have returned any call he left. Eventually he told me there was absolutely nothing he could do and didn't apologize for the miscommunication. When I picked up my item, the manager was not wearing a mask even though there were signs posted everywhere that masks were required. I explained I was very unhappy with the customer service and was going to leave a review. The manger slammed the sliding door in my face. I completely understand miscommunications. Things happen. I am appalled by how incredibly unkind the manager was and continued to be through this process. I will not return and urge others to go elsewhere for dry cleaning needs. read more

Being a Huntsville native, I was always familiar with Gates cleaners but never truly utilize their services due to my young age prior to leaving town. I return to town over the holidays, and sadly had to attend a funeral... Not only did Gates put a special rush on my suit, But when I went to pick up the suit the following morning... They explained to me there would be no charge due to my circumstances. This type of customer service is almost nonexistent these days. Thank you so much Gates cleaners for everything you did... Update: Sadly, after using Gates to launder my dress shirts for work for nearly 30 years, I was told yesterday that they are only operating 2 days a week now. I presume they are in the process of closing. read more

Ruined a brand new suit that was spotless, just wanted a first clean before wearing. First pickup, had grease and oil spots all over jacket and pants. Six redos, and with each one new stains replaced the old. After four months of trying to catch the owner, who does not return calls, and repeated requests for settlement that only he could approve, I gave up. I'm out a $300+ new suit and about 6-7 hours of my time. One associate finally admitted around redo visit #4 that my suit now needs to be altered, as the lining is misshaped from over cleaning. Best cleaners in Huntsville and Madison. Same day service if you get there before 8 or 9. Sometimes they get backed up but even then they have always been able to get me my cleaning when I need it. I just tell them I really need it by the next day and I've never had a problem. Takes a few days if you actually need a stain gotten out but they so far have always gotten mine out even when other cleaners weren't able to. read more
