Some teachers are genuinely great and actually care about teaching, but others mostly seem to respond to problems by yelling at students. My ELA experience in particular has been extremely frustrating because I often feel pressured into doing things I don't want to do rather than actually being helped or understood. PE also hasn't been a great experience. That being said, shoutout to Ms. Gallardo and Ms. Bitner because they are some of the few teachers/staff members who have made the school a little better. The student environment is another major problem. It can be extremely difficult to make friends here if you're not part of the popular crowd. Some students are genuinely kind and welcoming, but there are also plenty of people who judge others based on appearance or whether they fit in with a certain group. I've also witnessed behavior that is racist and homophobic, which makes the environment uncomfortable for a lot of students. There are also way too many unnecessary arguments and fights. Some students seem to enjoy bothering other people just to get a reaction out of them. There is a particular group of boys who will repeatedly tell people things like "my friend likes you" and continue bothering them even when it's clearly unwanted. It's childish and gets annoying. The school itself could use some serious maintenance. Finding cockroaches underneath trash cans is definitely something we shouldn't deal with. It's not all bad, though. MV actually has some good clubs and programs, and there are definitely students here who are kind, friendly, and genuinely nice to be around. If the school focused more on creating a respectful environment, improving how teachers handle students, and addressing problems between students instead of just yelling at everyone, it could be a much better place. (Gabby has issues and thinks that jumping someone is alwaysthe answer, and the whole popular crowd are wayy to dramatic; Zoey is a hypocrite; Kole needs to figure out how to keep a relationship. Henry thinks he's cool when he absolutely is NOT; Sophia has problems, and Eli called someone a bitch and beautiful? oh she's a fucking asshole.)

Thankfully they were able to graduate a whole YEAR early!! But this was not with any help from the principal who did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and did not care to verify he proof we had of this situation! He is completely inadequate in his role! Another teacher had an affair with a custodian-apparently on campus, the front of staff is Very Unfriendly, a teacher keeps hair clippings of students on the wall!! Which I'm certain is an OSHA violation and the music department, is headed by an untalented narcissist whom had an affair with a new hire and left their partner of 28yrs!! A Warning to Parents: Our Traumatizing Experience at PVCS…read more As an associate marriage and family therapist, I never thought I would encounter such a neglectful and dismissive environment in a school setting -- especially one that claims to operate under Christian values. For several months, my daughter was subjected to repeated physical and emotional harm by another student in her class. She came home with glue in her hair, sand in her mouth, and bruises on her body. Despite numerous attempts to alert her teachers and administrators, including Mrs. Wilson -- the school's principal -- no meaningful action was taken to protect my child or address the behavior. When I attempted to speak calmly with the parent of the other child, I was dismissed and deflected. I approached the teachers, including a daycare staff member whose training and experience appeared insufficient for the role, and received minimal acknowledgment. At no point did I demand the child be expelled -- I asked only for accountability and protection. Instead, my concerns were reframed and misrepresented by the administration. I ultimately made the decision to withdraw my daughter, and she is now thriving in public school. She no longer returns home in tears or covered in bruises. She is safe, learning, and happy. In my professional opinion, the school failed in its duty of care. It seemed more concerned with image management than the well-being of its students. There was also a troubling pattern of older children -- including a second-grade boy who repeatedly displayed aggressive behavior -- being allowed unsupervised or inadequately supervised access to younger students, including kindergarteners. These decisions put many children at risk. Several other parents I know made the difficult decision to remove their children as well. We were all met with the same pattern: avoidance, minimization, and spiritual language used to deflect responsibility. It pains me to write this about a religious institution. But in my experience, it is precisely behind religious language and rhetoric that some of the most egregious forms of gaslighting and inaction are allowed to persist. If you are a parent considering this school, I urge you to ask direct questions about their conflict resolution processes, staff qualifications, and discipline procedures. Make sure your child's safety is prioritized -- not just spoken about, but truly upheld.

They always answer my questions and make the students feel welcomed. They have students in the front desk helping, they are awesome! The school is nice and the food provides to the students is great! Plenty of healthy options. We have a youth who is lactose intolerant and with a doctors note they were able to accommodate her dietary needs. Drop off and pick up times are a total zoo, so make sure you have patience.

On multiple occasions when around other parents of children they are always impressed how ahead CCS kids are. The school has a preschool and makes the transition to Kindergarten SO much easier which helps children start learning sooner since they don't have as long to get over being in a new environment. Since before school and after school care is onsite it makes it much more comfortable to kids to stay after school if parents need the extra care. During COVID this school was one of the very few that kept kids engaged and didn't let them fall behind. I saw so many other schools have kids that are a year or two back because of COVID, but CCS did an amazing job to continue education and keep things as normal as possible. The principal has introduced so many sports and clubs with the help of staff. The community of parents and teachers has been what I had always hoped to have. I HIGHLY recommend this school.
