When I called Durbin one morning to schedule a repair for a broken garage door spring I was told it would be the afternoon of the next day before they could get to me in O'Fallon. I scheduled the visit with the plan to find someone who could get out earlier just as soon as I freed my car trapped in the garage. After unsuccessfully trying to lift the heavy garage door,I called Durbin back to explain my dilemma. Durbin said they'd try to fit me in the same day, at least to get the door up and the car out. Less than an hour later I got a call they were running ahead of schedule, had an open slot, and were on their way. At 2:00PM yesterday (Friday), we called to ask if anyone was available to service our garage door. (Had opened, but was crooked, and would not close.). Three other companies that I called could not come until next week. Thank God, Durbin could send Austin to arrive in 45 min. to an hour. Austin came on time and fixed our garage door. My husband asked if he could oil/grease the moving components because of the loudness when opening and closing. Then, Austin said he could replace our broken/splintered weather stripping. When a business receives 5 stars consistently (and only five star reviews as is the case to date for Durbin Garage Doors) from Yelp reviewers, it is for a reason. The reason is obvious. It's because that business exceeds in delighting their customers ... period. Unexpectedly this past Tuesday, a tension spring broke on one of my garage doors. Unwittingly, I called the business that installed the garage door openers more than 5 years ago who had conveniently placed a sticker above the open buttons on the wall in the garage. They told me that the first available time to come out for service would be Friday. I reluctantly agreed. That afternoon we received a flyer in the mail with a number of businesses repairing or replacing garage doors, openers, etc. One claiming it had excellent reviews on Yelp. I realized then that I should have done some research on Yelp to make the best decision possible. When I looked at reviews for the business that installed my openers I was surprised to see very mixed reviews. That's when I found Durbin Garage Doors and am I glad I did. I spoke to Jim who first listened to my description and explanation of what had happened and then we discussed my options. He then stated what they would do for an extremely reasonable price (much better than the original business I called) and said they could be at my house the next morning. Long story short, Austin came this morning at 8AM, replaced the broken spring as well as the cables doing all that was agreed upon for the quoted price. Called and left a message that our garage door needed new springs (as one had broken) on Sunday. Received a text message on Monday morning at 8am that someone would be out between 2pm and 4pm. Was then contacted again that they were running ahead of schedule and arrived at 12:30pm with work completed by 1:05pm. Also lubricated the door and rollers and tested the opener. I had used them several years prior to replace a garage door that had been damaged. That experience was also good and was priced reasonably. read more

Yes, indeed, Durbin Garage Doors is as good as it gets. Called in the morning after my garage door spring broke and in the process badly bent my garage door. I was sure I'd have to get a new door. They guys from Durbin came - two young, friendly fellows who did an amazing job, not only replacing my spring with a double spring, but banging the bent top into place so I no longer needed a new one. My garage door runs better now than it ever has. It is so quiet and when it reaches the floor, there is no loud CLUNK. It's as soft as a feather landing. So amazing. Wife came home from work last night, door did some funny stuff and then wouldn't open. I called Durbin Garage Door at 7am this am - he was on his way to another job, yet diagnosed problem over the phone (opener broke). I'm not one to leave reviews, but I believe you should certainly give credit where credit is due. Jim with Durbin Garage Doors exceeded all of my expectations! I came home to a broken torsion spring, however, it was also time to replace my garage door. I initially was given Jim's information as a referral from my boss, who also had used him in the past. That night, I went online and asked for general pricing on a 16x7 non insulated door. Jim replied by email overnight - super fast. I then called him the next morning (on a Saturday) to get a price on an insulated door and he offered to come out to my house to take a look (in the pouring rain). Long story short, I had a new garage door that following Wednesday. Install was exceptionally fast and flawless! I'd use Durbin Garage Doors again in a heartbeat!
