Gateway is a very cool movie experience. The staff seems genuinely glad to be there and the variety of films they show is unlike any other movie theatre in Columbus. I was surprised by how busy the theatre was on a weekday night. They have both a bar and a lounge/cafe, but only the bar was open during our visit. The seats are not the newer reclining kind, but the audio quality in the theatre was really good. Parking is available in the south campus gateway garage and the theatre validates for $2 parking.

As a theater fan, I absolutely love Gateway! Located eight between the university and the Short North, it's a cozy, clean location with decent concessions and a bar. I highly recommend catching their Tuesday $5 special with free popcorn! Parking in the lot next door can be validated inside.

What a cozy theater. This was my first time being here and I loved it. I love the fact that they have classic films that play here. If you ever go to see a movie, bring your ticket from the garage because they validate it. I will for sure be back to see many more movies. The sound was decent and the chairs were older, but still cozy.

Tonight we went to see a preview of the new movie coming out called "Blinded by the Night ". We all really enjoyed the story line and the lyrics from Bruce Springston music. Parking cost $2 if you park in the Gateway Garage and have your garage ticket stamped at the counter inside the theater. I don't think the chairs in the theater are very comfy because they don't recline and there's not a lot of leg room.

In the past I've avoided Gateway Film Center due to the lack of parking. However, thanks to the large abundance of scooters darting around Columbus, that stressor is long behind me and I'm happy to say I'll be visiting way more often. I recently came to see Aladdin and I was impressed with the experience from start to finish. It was easy to pull up the shows and times online and purchase tickets. Those tickets were then emailed to me and when I arrived at GFC all I did was walk up to the ticket office and show them my purchase. They then printed out real tickets for me to show the attendant. This is probably the only part that I found unnecessary. Go green! Can't I just show the attendant my email instead of wasting paper? Anyhoo... The theater my show was in was clean, the seats were comfy, and it was easy to get to the restroom. Thanks to the White Claws my friend and I enjoyed during the movie, we both went at least once. The sound and lighting throughout the entire show was also spot on. I never once heard a neighboring theater's sound, which is really important to me. I hate hearing other movies going on, it definitely impacts the experience. I also need to shout out the staff here. I grabbed drinks and popcorn before the movie and the gentleman handling my popcorn was an absolute pro! Popcorn - butter - popcorn - butter. His care in making it just right made my night. I love that GFC is locally owned and surrounded my all sorts of fun things to do. It's easy to make a night out of seeing a movie, grabbing dinner nearby, and enjoying live music outside on the weekends. I will be back!

This theatre is right by OSU campus so a lot of college students go there obviously. You would think it would be chaotic, messy or loud but it wasn't at all. There's street parking on High Street by the meter if you're lucky to get one & a garage in the back. You only have to pay $2 to park in the garage as long as you show your ticket at the counter. What I also found fascinating is the fact that this place had the benefits of being an independent house theatre as well as a large chain theatre. You really can't get that anywhere. The chairs were pretty comfortable inside & they seem to have a lot of specials for food & drinks which is always great. Today I watched the Last Black Man of San Francisco & it was one the most beautifully made movies that I've ever seen. I highly recommend everyone to watch it & also visit this theatre!

Plenty of options from a la carte apps to dinner and apps to dinner, drinks, & apps, etc. For drinks, there are multiple options from sodas to wine/beer to wine/beer/spirits, to better spirits, you name it! Brian was responsive and the information packet he sent me had everything I would want to know (the food and drink options, venue pictures, cost, etc.). I asked if gratuity was included, and he confirmed it was added into all of the pricing. So, it was a really great option! I haven't reviewed places I haven't experienced, but we looked at quite a few venues, and I was really impressed by the quality of food and drinks, how beautiful the space was, and the price. It was the best venue option, in my opinion. So, I wanted to share! The only reason we didn't book Graystone is because one of my colleagues got too nervous about the little lead time we had & wanted something with live bar music for the younger folk, so he booked a grungy bar. The younger team wanted to karaoke (he didn't), and he knew that no one could karaoke if there was already live music & a venue available to the public, so here we are. Ha! Fingers crossed for next year.

Baking macarons is a tricky thing and Damaris did such a good job breaking down all the steps. She gave us lots of tips and tricks for our home baking, and you can see her passion for what she does. That said, I have been to several of the cooking schools in Columbus and this was my least favorite overall attendee experience. It was more expensive, yet very "basic" for lack of a better word. All of the cooking classes I have attended come with some kind of amenities - a welcome cocktail, wine bar, cheese and crackers, hot coffee/tea, etc. Something. This class was three hours long and there was nothing offered but water and iced tea (on a 20 degree day). We also did not receive any kind of information prior to the class, so parking was like solving a mystery (hint: the parking lot is behind the house down a side alleyway)

In theory cooking with tea…read moresounded like the coolest thing ever and it was a very thoughtful gift, but the actual experience was a bit lackluster. The Seasoned Farmhouse is a beautiful space, but the cooking class was just okay. I unfortunately didn't learn any new skills and the main reason for this review being so low is because my husband and I got food poisoning at the event. I felt sick as soon as I ate the food and didn't feel better until 24 hours later. I have lots of thoughts on why this happened, that I will explain later. Class + Recipes: The recipes we tried were good. It was a class all about learning how to cook with tea. We made Shaoxing Wine Tea-Poached Chicken with Scallion Oil, Sweet Tea-Brined Roast Chicken, Salad Greens with Golden Raisin Vinaigrette, Tea-Poached Eggs, Black Tea Poppy Seed Muffins, Earl Grey Tea Cake with Chopped Chocolate and Tea-Infused Cream Cheese Frosting and Roasted Yukon Potato Wedges with Aioli Sauce. The food tasted good and I appreciated the amount of thought that Chef Cindy Ramsey put into creating them. However, I was severely disappointed with the set-up of the class. I've been to 6 cooking classes at other locations and always was assigned to a specific station where each participant would make each dish and learn new cooking skills. This class was set-up where we were given a 20 minute lecture and then told to wash our hands and disperse to focus on different aspects of the meal. For instance I mixed the aioli sauce, iced the cake and teared lettuce leaves. Though we were told to wash our hands, we didn't wear gloves and this is what I believe caused my husband and I to get sick. Cons: Lack of cleanliness. During the demonstrations sometimes the chef would touch raw ingredients like eggs and chicken and would then touch other ingredients that would not be cooked. This leads to cross contamination and should have been avoided on the chefs behalf. In addition, because 10 different people peeled eggs, and various people touched ingredient components that would not be cooked I believe this also may be the cause of getting sick. As a science nerd let me share that we all have a different skin microbiome. Sometimes people carry more of one bacteria on their skin than others. Also depending on the length and cleanliness of finger nails, this also could cause unwanted bacteria on food that was prepared without being cooked. If these bacteria get into the ingredients, some people can get ill from them. Net: PLEASE HAVE ALL PARTICIPANTS WEAR GLOVES WHEN PREPARING FOOD, ESPECIALLY ITEMS THAT WILL NOT BE COOKED. I feel like the price of the class was not cheap and hopefully could cover the cost of gloves in the future. Based on this experience, I would not come here again and do not recommend it to someone who is looking for a more traditional style cooking class.
