It took me 5 trips for them to properly balance and rotate brand new tires. Do not go here. They are bo longer part of the Gateway Tire corporation as this location has been sold. I kept telling them the tires weren't properly balanced but until I had one of them ride in my car they wouldn't believe me. Turns out a new person worked on my car and they went behind him to correct his poor work but when they said they rebalanced all 4 tires they really only did 2. I was there this morning at 700 for again rebalancing of tires and no one was there until 7:06 and doors opened at 7:08. 2-3 weeks ago, my wife brought in her car because the brakes or rotors were squealing and we were unsure what it was. I read the reviews initially and most were pretty bad, but I ignored that because I thought that Gateway was "respected" in the metro. Boy was I wrong to do that. Apparently, there is new management and I should've stayed as far away from them as possible. When she brought the car in, we were told "Your brakes look great and are in good condition. What needs to be replaced are your rotors and that should handle the squealing." I said perfect and they started working. Nothing else was explained by the technician about the process of how old breaks can mess up the rotors and that usually when they replace rotors, they recommend replacing brakes. I had no idea that was a thing or that that was a possibility. They finish, and the crew there tells us, "It may squeak for the next two or three days, and that's normal. If it continues after that, bring it back and we'll handle it." It has continued to squeal since we left Gateway that day. My wife brings the car back up there this past Saturday and the technician tells her that we will need to get new rotors and brakes today. Mind you, we just got new rotors 2ish weeks ago. Their words were, "That process of how the brakes and rotors need to be replaced at the same time should have been explained to you when you brought it up here 2 weeks ago." It was not, so I called and asked for the manager, Reuben. On the phone with Reuben, he continually denies that they did anything wrong, never mentions anything about the fact that their technician didn't explain that to us, "has no idea" why his technician told my wife she needed new rotors Saturday, and then at the end of the phone call after I said I appreciated him taking the time to talk to me he hangs up on me. Now, before Reuben very impolitely hung up on me, he offered to work with me by allowing me to buy brakes from them and they will cover the labor. I appreciate the gesture and will follow through with that. However, it's the principle behind the fact of steadily denying any wrongdoing on their part, confirming over and over that everything was explained correctly, and that I the customer was wrong. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The workers are arguing with each other about how little they get paid. While there are 6 paying customers including myself in the waiting room which is approximately 10 feet away from where they are having this conversation. Also somebody should most definitely look into where the money is going to bc I'm paying 170 for 1 tire with a warranty included in the price... that's non negotiable... and I don't even live in this state. Recently had visited the Lynch Street location waited 3.5 hours to get my tires rotated. The service person want to question my why I needed my tires rotated. I informed him that I rotat my tires every other oil change. He proceeded to tell me that I didn't need it. After debating with him he reluctantly rotated my tires. Today I went back to have my tires checked for a possible leak or a nail in my tire. Again I was met with resistance. Once it was checked I was told my vehicle was ready and to remove my vehicle. Normally the service person removes the vehicle. The young lady removed, parked it and took the key inside. This was disrespectful and rude. I have been going to that location for well over 30 years, I will have to change my tire stores in the future. The customer service needs to be reviewed and better training. read more

My wife recently went by to get her tires rotated, tires we bought from them, she was told by kevin and the tech that her tires were dry rotted and they would not rotate them. I had already looked and them and knew this was not true so i told her to leave. I rotated them myself and inspected tires. She went back by there and got the manager to look and them and he said they were no dry rotted, then she told him what happened. He didn't seem to be concerned. this is not the first issue with them but it will be the last. If you are a woman especially, please do not use them. the rating would be a zero but that is not an option. read more

I have never had a stellar experience here. I wanted to be one of the first customers of the day so it won't take five hours...boy was I in for a surprise. When I walked in this morning at 0710 there were three employees standing up front and not a single one looked at me nor greeted me. Being the second customer of the day, I had to wait at the podium for about five minutes before anyone felt like helping me. The oil change on my car took about an hour - as expected, but I have been sitting in the lobby now for two hours and it has taken over an hour for them to get that done. It takes 15-20 minutes max to rotate four tires; if I had the tools I would have walked out by now and done it myself. Fed up with Gateway is an understatement. Never going back. read more

Needed a passenger side tire replaced. Showed up a little before 1300. A gentleman named Jimmy told me he didn't have time to do it at 1305. Would not recommend his services anymore. went today for a tire repair at the Jackson Lynch street location since i purchased the tires at this location, the newest tire i purchased had a large screw in it ,which i asked for a tire repairs the sales rep didnt ask what type of repair just stated that they close at 5 the will attempt to repair it if not in the morning ok so no question about type repair wanted and i walk out to see tech person putting tire plugs in the tires ,second one attempting to put a third on in the hole, I asked the tech why not patch it i dont want plugs if that was the case i would have plug the tire myself, long story short got to arguing with Sales rep about type of repair and tech walked off not completing the repair or even putting the air back into the tire this isnt the service im used to at this company and was very upset with the work the sales rep should have verified what type repair and advised to come next day i would have done that if needed but i had an appt that was scheduled during the time this location is open.tell me how can we rectify this issue Colby it happened right after you left for the day read more

Waited for 2 hours to get oil change and tires rotated on a Saturday but the waiting area was pretty comfortable with Wifi option. The price was good. I live in California and my daughter goes to nursing school at UMMC (Jackson). I've always handled all of her car maintenance and repair before her going away to school, but now it's just not possible anymore. One of my (towards-the-top) concerns was finding a place that a young woman could go to for reliable car maintenance without being taken advantage of or mislead. After reading the Yelp reviews we gave this place a shot and we have been overwhelmingly happy with their service! She's able to go in and feel comfortable there, and they take great care of her car! So far they've only done an oil service, fixed a flat tire and remounted the spare, but when I go back there I'm going to walk in and introduce myself and thank them personally. This is probably the best shop in town for all things car maintenance. They consistently have great customer service, a timely turnaround time, and they fix the actual issue. After having our Jeep Grand Cherokee diagnosed at a Jeep dealership and sitting there for 4 days with nothing to show for it but an odd diagnosis tagged with a big bill, we took it to Gateway. Within a couple hours of opening, they had it diagnosed correctly (which was very different than the dealership) and had it ready for pickup by noon. I was 90 miles from home and my front brakes locked on my truck. I couldn't get over 35 mph and they were smoking hot. I entered the business one hour before closing and after being ignored for over a minute while they talked to each other, they finally acknowledged me and said that they could not help me. They did not care that I was far from home without anyway to go. They suggested I leave my vehicle with them and they would get to it Monday. I had to get a tow and have someone drive from home to pick me up. They were very uncaring and unconcerned. Before lunch a service manager called to inform me that my tire had been repaired. OK... I am a REAL customer with no connections to Gateway. Was told this a.m. that the oil change wouldn't take long, but the tire rotation would take about 3 hours! Honda does all of this within an hour. When the car is on the rack, for the oil change, the tire rotation should not take long to do! ALSO, if a tire has rubber missing and this could cause it to blow, and you're told that wire has to be showing for it to be replaced by the Road Warranty, that is bad service. AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!! Pulled in on the way to the beach vacation with a really bad vibration in a $70K vehicle. Needless to say wasn't happy! Tires were purchased from Gateway back home 1 year ago and had just not been right since. Home location was not as receptive to helping! The Flowood location was wonderful. They took the time to really dig in and find out what was wrong. Long story short, 2 brand new tires later (pro-rated against warranty) and our 2014 Sequoia is back to riding on a cloud. I had run over a nail and needed to have my tire repaired. I called Gateway Tire and inquired how much was the charge to fix a tire that has a nail in it. The gentleman said that he could fix it for free. I was a little skeptical that the work would be completely free. However, true to his word, the repairman fixed my tire, installed it, and replaced my spare at no charge at all. I went in August 2 2019 for an oil change and daytime running light bulb to be changed. Service 4 of 5, Time was 3 of 5(Got there at 7:20 left at 9:00) They told me they'd have to drop the front bumper to replace the daytime running bulb which I know isn't true (2015 Jetta) and I confirmed it by looking it up online. They weren't trying to get extra money or anything just didn't know what they were talking about. He walked to their store and asked if anyone could help him change the tire. He was told they would have to send a tow truck. 300 yards! He walked back to the car and started changing the tire himself. A kind young man stopped to help him. They took the flat back to the store and asked for a new tire to be mounted on the rim. He was told it would take 2 hours! My husband and the young man left and went to another store back in Pearl. If you're driving around in these Jackson streets, the day will come when you need a tire repair or replacement. On Saturday I walked into this place 20 minutes after they were closed after realizing my tire was in need of immediate repair. The guy at the front told me everyone had clocked out, but one guy said he'd take a look. There ended up being a huge shard of metal in my tire, and they had to replace it. The price of a comparable Yokahoma replacement tire was less than I originally paid for the set. All of this was done in about 20 minutes. Being a woman, traveling on the road, I didn't want to run the risk of a flat so I decided I'd get it fixed near Jackson.
