We had a bridal shower high tea at this venue. Tina was fantastic, she was helpful, considerate of allergies and very thorough. It was easy to setup and take down everything. The staff were all so kind, attentive and friendly. If I find myself in a position to host another similar event I will absolutely be working with Gathering Pointe. My mother has been here several times. This is her meet up spot with some of her local friends. It was always her go to got their spinach, feta and tomato. Mom is bummed that their no longer a cafe or restaurant. They do have meals to go at least. Working on my mom to consider a meal to go, it's during the week. Orders have to be in my 2pm, Monday-Thursday for the next day pickup or delivery. Gotta make sure the parents eat a solid meals through the week during the pandemic. read more

I'm going to have to agree with several other reviewers that the service here is going to be their downfall. I went in on a Saturday morning to get some pastries and the interaction was just comical. There were no less than 6 people milling behind the counter - 2 older ladies - presumably an owner(?) and 4 youngish (late teens/early twenties?) ladies all trying to help one woman pick up an order. After waiting patiently for a few minutes, one of the younger ladies noticed me and asked if I had been helped. Nope, I had not. I ask about a couple things in front and tell her what I want. Then I notice the croissants on the left of the counter -(where all the other activity has been) and ask about those. I decide 2 croissants and 2 pastries will do. I tell the girl - never mind on these 2, I'll take 2 croissants and 2 palmiers. She hadn't even started picking up or bagging anything yet, but this caused great confusion. She started putting the things I had just said I didn't want into a bag. I said - No, I want this and this. Anyways - she finally gets it all right and uses the ipad system to ring things up. I was taken aback - $17.95 for 2 ham and cheese croissants and 2 palmiers. Wow - or maybe I just don't know the price of things these days - but seemed pretty high to me. I could have had a pretty good breakfast somewhere for that $'s. The ordering system also needs serious improvement. What good does it do to have 5 people behind the counter if you only have one ipad to ring people up with? In my case - they were in the middle of the other woman's order - so I had to wait until they were completely done with her before I could pay for mine. The croissants were good, about what you would expect for a ham & cheese croissant and the palmiers were tasty. I'd like to try some more of their items - but the prices and service will probably keep me out of there. read more

Wonderful cafe and baked goods. Saturday was busy and the only suggestion is that they revamp the entry, order, pay process. It's very slow if you just want something simple from the bakery and a coffee or tea. You're waiting in line behind people putting an elaborate orders. I really want to love this place but every time I go there the service is pretty bad. The staff seems lost and when they find their way to you, they are really slow at getting there. The food is good enough but it's hard to keep going back with such spotty service. They definitely need help figuring it out because the place could be so much better. After sitting for about 10 minutes, my wife and I ordered two meals... One breakfast sandwich, one omelette... the waitress comes back 10 minutes later saying she forgot what we ordered so we had to place our order again. 20-30 minutes later we got our food, but the wrong food was put into the ordering system. When the waitress went to apologize, she went to the wrong table (heard the waitress apologize and the table next to us say "nope, we got the right food") and and she never came to check on us. Needless to say, we were disappointed. They took the food off the bill, but I'd rather pay for what I ordered and not get a free meal that I didn't. read more

It's too bad, I want to leave a positive review about this place, but I can't simply on principle. I ate lunch here on October 23rd with a friend and paid with my debit card. Everything was great until a few days later I realized I was charged double ($40, for my $20 lunch) Normally this wouldn't be a big issue... but now it seems like I'm paying it forward... I called and was promptly told the charge would be reversed - no problem. A week later? No change to my account. Two weeks? Still no change. Three weeks - still nothing. It's now been a month since my lunch rendezvous and the double charge to my account has not been rectified. I've called every week, some weeks more than once, and honest to god I can't understand why reversing an error made on the restaurants behalf is this difficult. I've provided my card number, name, phone number, ect... and they still can't figure it out. The least they could do a month into this is buy me lunch.... or at least give me the meal I seemed to have already paid for... For mediocre cafe food, I won't be returning after this $20 nightmare. read more

We stopped by for a mid afternoon lunch after looking at a couple of houses in Grosse Pointe Park. A beautiful European style cafe, minus the smokers, with comfortable seating, perfect relaxed old school ambiance, and a friendly staff. We sat by the window and poured over the fairly extensive menu of salads, croissant sandwiches, wraps, and paninis. We enjoyed some excellent New England clam chowder and cauliflower/cheddar soup. We also enjoyed a turkey artichoke spread panini. The desserts and baked goods look yummy, but we skipped those on this outing. I live around the corner and plan to return their soon. I've been here a few times now and always leave pleased. Great atmosphere, charming little cafe with outstanding staff. The owner of the cafe is there a lot and she's so Nice!! I'm often with my little two year old and she cuts up strawberries for him in baby bite sizes for him to eat. He loves all the positive attention and free berries So far I've had their cupcakes and some of their meals to go and I've been impressed. Great establishment with dedicated workers. Upon first impromptu visit, I was smitten and totally love this place. The Elvis cookie is AMAZING!, the feta, spinach and tomato Quiche which I had was solid. A tasty crust, lacked enough tomatoes for me, but next time I'll ask for more if possible. The coffee is wonderful, as are the cups they used. Charming is an ideal word for this spot. There was a young lady circling and refilling waters regularly. We took many cookies, pastries, and some gazpacho home. Can't wait to explore the menu further. My husband and I struggle with this place because of the service. The food is great, but the staff can't seem to figure it out. I ordered two sandwiches to go; chicken salad sandwich and a build your own (wheat, tuna, swiss, lettuce, tomato, onion). I was ordering the sandwiches as the staff member plugged the order into the computer. She repeated the order back and I noticed the "lettuce, tomato, onion" was left off, so I made sure to repeat the order for a third time to ensure that was included. I was her only customer, and during my visit they had about 5 other staff members working, so no one seemed overwhelmed or overly busy. To my surprise, when the order arrived - the lettuce, tomato and onion were missing. I love supporting this local business, and I do love their food. When they get it right. I had never heard of this place until recently, and I am pretty impressed! The atmosphere is great, and the staff is very friendly. Their baked goods look really good and they have a wide variety of scones. I had an apricot cranberry scone and it was delicious! We also ordered lunch- I got the Turkey Artichoke panini and it was huge! Especially for 6.75. It was probably equal to two sandwiches, and it was tasty. My mom got a kale-quinoa salad and thought it was really good- the biscuit it came with was yummy as well. You definitely get bang for your buck here, hard to find any item over $7.00. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because while our waitress was friendly, she wasn't very attentive. She never filled our waters and took about 15 minutes after we had gotten our food for her to come back. We ended up having wave another waitress down for a box. I had lunch here yesterday for the first time and it is just a really nice place. The food seemed to be cooked from scratch and everyone in the restaurant was friendly and accommodating. I was having a meeting, and while they had to close early to prepare for an event, they had no issue with us staying well past closing time. They mentioned to me that they are planning to start a dinner service soon, which is exciting because I feel like the options in this area are pretty limited. I am ADDICTED! We order the chicken caesar roll up from here all the time. It is always made perfectly and really has that hand-crafted touch. Then upon visiting one day we tried a pastry...oh lord.
