Four years ago I was very satisfied after they installed 2 toilets and 13 water faucets in my house. I asked this time for a price quote to install a GE water filter underneath the kitchen sink. At first The old lady who answered the call, was rude, and did not want to help me. But after a brief chat She asked for me the for the brand name, when I told her it was GE filtration system that needed to be installed under the kitchen sink she still sounded clueless. She said she needed to send someone for $175 dollars visit fee to evaluate the job to be done. When finally she gave me a price quote; she said it would cost me $885 dollars for the new water filter installation. Bear in mind that I already bought the filtration small unit at Home Depot. The connection consist of two hoses. For that price I would rather watch a video in youtube and do it myself. The job should not take more than 20 minutes. This is the problem with plumbers nowadays, car mechanics and handy men alike in general. I feel like they just came out of prison and they are like predators; Just like judges, politicians, doctors are nowadays. When I look for a plumbing business I want to know how much he charges per hour? References? Experience? Reputation? Ethics and Moral character? and the way they treat the customer. I just did a google search on the state of Florida website and discovered that the new owner is Charles Barr and his license has been revoked since 2022 for failing to file a state report. The status of the business is inactive. Do a search for yourself at the State of Florida business corporation. Power went out at my home at 10 pm Thursday night -- completely out, no warning…read more After waiting 4 hours for FPL (who arrived at 2 am only to say "not our problem"), I now needed to figure out solutions in the dark. I made several calls to electricians who claim ti be avaukable 24/7. Trust me, thats mostly false advertising...and leaving messages does nothing. But Romeo, co-owner of 911 Electrical Service showed up at 3:30 am & power was finally restored around 4 am - with a temporary fix & a promise to return to do a permanent fix. Today, Romeo returned, as promised, with help to fix things. They added a master switch for the whole house & replaced a few other parts. Now, everything is back to normal. There's a particular kind of stress that comes with handling things like this alone -- trusting that the people who show up to help are honest, asking the right questions while you're exhausted, and making decisions anyway. I am grateful for competent people who show up when it matters -- and for lights that turn back on.
