Ordered a shrimp fajita plate and as I was eating, I noticed several pieces of beef in it. When I asked the waiter why there was beef in my dish, he started to awkwardly giggle. I then told him that I can only eat seafood and he said that everything grilled is cooked on the same grill in the same spot. I told him I was vegetarian/pescatarian and that I can not eat beef due to religious reasons. OK this is a place that I found about 2 years ago. At that time, it was strictly a food truck operation and it was absolutely mind-blowingly wonderful. Since then, they have pretty much abandoned their food truck and moved into a brick and mortar location. It is a very small restaurant but that is part of the charm and character of it. This is the type of place that will ruin you because you will always be using their food as a measuring stick to see if other Mexican food measure up and most don't. This place is that good. Tacos, or should I say authentic tacos, are by far my favorite food group and throughout all my travels, I always try to find good tacos to eat. So far, I've never found any, anywhere that measure up to Gatos Tacos. They have effectively ruined me. Their prices are also awesome. On Tuesdays, they have Taco Tuesday where you can get 4 tacos for $6. My favorite thing to order is a pork taco, steak taco, el pastor taco, and a chorizo taco with a special burrito with both the green and red sauces. I've never ordered anything that wasn't A+.
