Amazing food and service was genuine. My partner said "wow that wasn't just a burger! That was an experience" we haven't had anything like it!

The Guachao burger was worth the price! It has everything the X-Tudo has but they add either fried chopped steak or chicken. The steak version was delicious and filling! The combination of flavors is absolutely delicious!! The service was adequate. They have a big variety of different foods to choose from but the burgers are amazing! I'm looking forward to going back soon!!

After our fishing trip, we were getting hungry and decided to stop in at Gauchão Burgers for dinner. This neighborhood eatery seemed very busy when we arrived Saturday evening. The place is order at the counter and there are several tables for eating in. It took a couple minutes before we were able to place and pay for our order at the counter. I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana over Linguini ($11.99) and a Double Cheeseburger Combo ($8.99) with fries and can of soda. My buddy ordered the Salad of the House ($13.99) and 2 glass bottles of Mexican Coke (real cane sugar). We took a seat at an open table near the counter and our food was brought out, one dish at time starting with the Chicken Parmigiana over Linguini which was a generous plate of two tender breaded chicken cutlets topped with melted provolone cheese & parsley and savory tomato sauce smothered with soft cooked linguini. The Double Cheeseburger was huge with two firm grilled beef patties, melted cheese, lettuce, tomato slices, onions, and pickles between a soft sweet Portuguese burger bun. The good amount of battered golden fries had a slight salty flavor. I also grabbed a Canada Dry Ginger Ale can from the cooler. The Salad of the House had a mix of iceberg lettuce, tomato, egg, onions, cranberries, hearts of palm, corn, olives, and juicy pieces of grilled chicken, green sauce. The food was very tasty and filling and both of us needed to go boxes for our dinners. The place was very busy during our visit and the staff was very accommodating as well.

A family warm welcoming experience. Amazing food with classic Brazilian style fast food. The Gauchão Special are the top pick items. And the X tudo is the way to go.

The restaurant was also hosting a teacher appreciation event where teachers ate free which I thought was amazing of them even though I'm not a teacher. We had to wait a bit due to the demand that evening but it was not bad to stroll around a bit. They had pretty diverse staff and they were all very friendly and seemed committed to the restaurant and good service. They also seemed to know the menu quite well and proud that the restaurant makes everything from scratch! I got chimmichuri steak flat bread and my friend got a salad. We shared the seasoned fries. I would not think of these flat breads as pizza. Once you've mentally made that jump, the food is really good. I enjoyed it and it was a good amount as well. My friend also ordered food to go for her partner and our server was great to helping us time that order so it was ready for when we were leaving and still hot. Amazing service with great food and cute neighborhood. I think you can get dessert here but there's also a fun micro creamery across the street that was another delicious way to push deeper into food coma for the night!

Having mixed feelings about this one. While we absolutely love the sister restaurant, this one…read moredidn't wow us as much. That being said, we still had a pleasant dinner and enjoyed our meal but I don't think we will be itching to return. The standout being the french fries-- tossed in a delicious truffle butter. We both enjoyed the ny strip-- I found it odd that you couldn't order it cooked to your liking. We had asked for our steak cooked medium and they "can only do medium rare" per the servers words. That felt a bit odd-- I cannot not understand the reasoning why. The flavor on the steak was delicious, the cream sauce outstanding, and the greens were a nice touch. I would not recommend the cacio de pepe -- that didn't feel like an authentic pasta rather overcooked mac and cheese. It was not what we were expecting. The other thing that fell a bit short was the service. Completely different than their sister rail trail, the service was cold. It felt as if we were a bother. Our dining experience was less than an hour, it was prompt service. Ambiance is nice, small seating, dark.

You arrive through the ice cream shop (I've been to the ice cream shop before and I had no idea that this was here) and you go to the back to an unmarked door by the restrooms. You flip the switch and the doorkeeper checks your id and you wait until there is a table. Once you go in, it is a small restaurant/bar. The focus is definitely on the alcohol. There are several interesting cocktails to try. I had the martini. It was served in a flask on ice. It was strong. My friend tried the Manhattan and she was very pleased by the flavor. We had the burger and shared the fries. Those were good but not the best I've ever had. But the concept of the fries was very good. My friends got the salmon dip and that was exciting. The deserts are mostly spiked too. The service was very good and I will be excited to come back again next time I'm In the area.

The atmosphere is nice and clean, comparable to your average pub. It's a little echoey, but that's typical of this type of setting. Our total (pre-tax, pre-tip) bill was $44.50. This was fair for our order of: * Hendrick's & tonic * Margarita (watermelon) * Nachos w/ grilled chicken * Finn's burger Adult Beverages: The Gin & Tonic wasn't too bad. The watermelon margarita was a bit strong and tart. Food: I felt the nachos were your average, pub-style nachos. Not too bad, but nothing great. I'd order them again if I were in the area and needed a quick snack. Jennie thought they were lackluster altogether and would not. We both felt the burger was OK, at best. The bun and toppings (LTPO) were all good. The meat was quite reminiscent of a lower-quality, frozen, store-bought patty. It was juicy, but there wasn't any flavor to it. The side of onion rings that came with the burger were quite delicious... the best part of the meal. They were thick cut in a tasty, thinner batter. Service: Our server was also the bartender. She was friendly and attentive. She also took our order, including the changes, from memory. This always impresses me. Overall, it's a decent little local place to stop in for a quick bite, a drink, and maybe shoot some pool, but we won't drive the hour again to make a special trip there. We're giving it 3/5 stars, as that's the average/median on the available scale.

Back for Seconds: A Review of Checkerboards Restaurant & Bar in Judson, MA…read moreThe Verdict: Round two, and I'm still here. That has to count for something, right? I returned to Checkerboards recently, mostly to confirm that the deliciousness of my first visit wasn't just a hunger-induced hallucination. I am happy to report that the pizza remains structurally sound and emotionally supportive. Here's the breakdown of the second outing: The Atmosphere: It has that classic "I'm here to eat 2,000 calories and I don't care who sees me" energy. It's cozy, it's bustling, and the checkered decor is still successfully keeping me from forgetting the name of the establishment. The Food: I dove into the pizza again because I'm a creature of habit and change scares me. The crust had that perfect "crunch-to-chew" ratio that scientists should really be studying more closely. It's the kind of pizza that makes you consider ordering a second one just to have as a pillow for the inevitable food coma. The Service: The staff is impressively fast. I'm convinced they have a psychic link with the kitchen. My drink arrived before I even fully realized I was thirsty, which is either great service or light sorcery. The "Second Visit" Realization: You know a place is good when you spend the entire car ride there debating if you should try something new, only to panic and order exactly what you had last time because the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out... on that specific sauce) is too real. Final Thought: If you see me there a third time, don't be alarmed. Just pass the parmesan and mind your business. Rating: 5/5 Stars. I'll be back for round three once my treadmill forgives me.

My friend happened to be in the area this weekend and I suggested we go here for lunch. The wait staff is always great, but today was exceptional! Lily, our server, was an absolute delight. It made me feel normal being able to choose something from a full menu instead of trying to figure which of the 3 GF options I would wind up with. I appreciated that they had a designated server to deliver my gluten free dish to avoid any cross contamination. I would recommend this as a restaurant for those who are gluten sensitive to visit. I chose the Hot Honey Chicken which was a pickle brined, breaded, cajun seasoned fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The chicken was really big extending past the bun both ways showing a crispy fried exterior with a small puddle of the hot honey puddling on the plate. The first bite proved it wasn't false advertising, it was tender and juicy inside with a nice flavor of spice with a pleasing crunch from the breaded coating. I couldn't put the sandwich down, mostly because I didn't want to put my sandwich back in the puddle of honey which would have made my bun soggy but also because that chicken breast poking out at me was begging for another bite. My Boo noticed I was really into the sandwich because he said it was unusual that I wasn't devouring my fries while they were piping hot (I love hot fries). They were good too but that hot honey chicken - yum! My Boo had, from the regular, not gluten free menu, the clam chowder soup and shrimp poke bowl. He enjoyed them both and they both look very appetizing but I only had eyes for my hot honey chicken. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the food but it came out very pleasing to the eyes. The only thing I thought the restaurant could improve on is the attire of their workers. First impressions matter and though the hostess was pleasant she should have given more attention to her attire and appearance. Also, our waittress didn't offer to refill our water. Other than that we enjoyed it. When we travel back through here, I'm coming again.
