Known locally as "The Chat," it's tucked away in a neighborhood overlooking Dudley Pond, in what began life as a private fishing lodge nearly a century ago before becoming a speakeasy and eventually the local institution it is today. It definitely shows its age--and I mean that affectionately. (The Dudley Chateau) The building is well worn, it gets packed, it can be loud, and yes, the restrooms have seen better days. None of that has stopped us from coming back several times a year. Why? Because the food is consistently excellent, and so is the service. The menu goes well beyond what you'd expect from a neighborhood pub, and we've yet to leave disappointed. The staff somehow manages to stay friendly, attentive, and efficient even when the place is buzzing. The Dudley Chateau isn't trying to be trendy or upscale, and that's part of its charm. It's comfortable in its own skin, and so are the people who keep coming back. If you're looking for spotless, quiet, and polished, this probably isn't your place. But if you're looking for great food, friendly service, and a genuine local institution with plenty of character, it's absolutely worth the visit.

The waitress even took notes of what our allergies were, very refreshing. Just to make sure the food that I ordered was OK the manager came over and asked just to make sure, appreciate that. The food came out perfectly as ordered without having anything to be sent back, as usually it needs to be sent back for one reason or another. My gas and I appreciate the amazing customer service, the tentativeness, the food that tasted better than what the menu you read and just overall ambience nice experience without being rushed. If you're looking for an upscale place food and ambience this is the place to go and come back to.

I want to give our bartender credit for the hard work she was doing attending to surrounding tables and bar patrons by herself. I also will give credit to the restaurant for the amazing truffle Parmesan fries and my yummy decaf espresso martini. Gnocchi were a bit denser than we like. Our other main was the Seafood Paella. On the plus side it had a lot of seafood in it, mussels, Shrimp, Scallops and a white fish. All of the sish was cooked well and was tender and juicy. However it did not appear to be cooked in a Paella pan so you didn't get some of those bites of crispy rice and the seasoning was off it had no saffron or tomatoes like I am used to. It was more like a plain rice that they added peas, carrots, and red pepper. Just didn't taste like any form of the paella that I have eaten previously. Jenna our server was awesome and attentive but not overbearing. She was fantastic and made for an enjoyable evening.

We asked the manager for some napkins to prop up the wobbly table and he said (quote) "Why don't you tell your kid not to stand on his chair" and walked away. The kid in question was literally sitting in his chair with one foot against the table. We explained to the manager the impact of what he said, and gave him multiple opportunities to apologize. We get it: its St Patrick's Day in an Irish bar and it's stressful. But instead of recognizing that he snapped: he doubled down and tried to convince us that his language fine, and that we were in the wrong for calling him out. I even talked with him an hour later, after it had cooled off, and he continued to be aggressive and dismissive. A bad manager is one thing. But our server didn't acknowledge the awkwardness (even as other families watched in shock), just trying to rush us out. The food was probably the worst it's ever been at Stone's, which raises questions of why. It's understandable to have a bad day, it's *not* ok to set the tone for your staff and establishment that berating your customers, unprompted, is acceptable.

My martini arrived in a tall narrow martini glass and the "extra" was served in a chilled mini carafe. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE WHEN RESTAURANTS DO THIS. It makes the drink feel a little bit fancier and helps keep the drink fresh. It also makes you feel as though you are getting two drinks for the price of one . We sat at the bar per usual and shared the half nachos (+ candied jalapeños and chicken). We love the way their nachos are served and honestly the portions are huge and very generous. We couldn't even finish the half nachos between the two of us! The nachos are always LOADED and have such unique flavors. My favorite cocktails at Bourbon's are: Saturn (not currently on the menu but they are typically still able to make it), Clear Intentions (clarified Mai Thai with the most incredible flavor profile) and Freezer Door Martini. 10/10 recommend all 3 of these but honestly you can't go wrong with any of their cocktails.

Some favorites: the old old fashioned... perfect if you're a whisky fan. The nachos are the best I've ever had anywhere (get the chorizo on it), and the crispy chicken Caesar wrap is super tasty (and huge). The owners are usually there on the weekends checking in with patrons. Always a nice touch and their attention to detail is appreciated.
