Gavin photographed our wedding and changed (deleted) the scenic background on all of our photos. Our relatives took better pictures from their seats than Gavin did - though his contract required that he had access to all areas at all times even over our videographers. We tried to work with Gavin after we received our photos but he was relentless. We ended up in a lawsuit where the judge ordered Gavin to pay us back 2/3 of what he charged us. (He didn't pay until the Sheriff froze his bank account.) He's a cookie-cutter phtoographer, he can only deliver one thing. read more

We had Gavin take both our engagement and wedding photos. The pictures were absolutely amazing! Gavin is skilled at incorporate nature lights into photos which amplify the color effects way more than what we would have imagined. His directions were clear to follow and the picture taking process was easy and fun. I like the pictures to be nature and spontaneous which is what Gavin's style is. Gavin was the engagement and wedding photographer for my husband and I, and I cannot be happier to leave their first review on yelp! Firstly - while this yelp page is new, there is nothing short of high praises on Gavin on all assortment of websites. Wedding Photography was the first vendor we looked into at the time. We contacted a few vendors and looked up reviews for every person. While I can say that there are many artists out there, my now husband and I agreed after looking at their portfolios that Gavin's photos were the most vibrant and expressive of them all. We met Gavin for a meeting at the Seal Beach starbucks (half way point between us). He had an ipad with him that showed more pictures than available on the website. We were thrilled with his honesty and willingness to work with us, even building us a custom plan from the ones he normally offer due to the hours imposed by the venue. Gavin is also working on a tool for all photographers called cloudspot, and we geeked out over coding and software development for a bit. Fast forward a few months, we had our engagement session with Gavin. Scheduling was easy as Gavin always replies to his emails in a timely manner, and even carved out a weekend day for us. He answered all of our questions (even silly ones like "what should we wear") patiently and offered great suggestions for venues. He sent us a personalized link on his website that showcased the different venues available on the OC. The day of our first scheduled session, as I was leaving the house to have my make up done, it started to rain heavily. I immediately panicked and called Gavin even though it was only 8am in the morning. He was more than willing to reschedule the shoot at no expense (!) without any problems. You don't often get vendors who are willing to do that, in fact, I ended up losing a hefty deposit to the make up artist for that day and she sounded all too unpleasant on the phone. No problems with Gavin, though! Our engagement shot was perfect. Even though it was over 100 degrees in Irvine, the pictures turned out absolutely gorgeous and it was all delivered to us in 2 days! I did not believe my eyes when I saw over 100 pictures all perfectly adjusted and ready for download. We knew we were in great hands for the wedding! Gavin also has a wealth of information for vendor recommendations (both the make-up artist and videographer recommended by him were great!). On our wedding day, he was already there before I arrived, all set up and ready to go. He had the shot list printed and organized so we got through everything in no time! I hardly noticed him all night other than the dedicated photography sessions, which is a great thing because he got some very great candid photos. All 600 photos were delivered about 10 days after the event, which is almost unheard of! (If you look through yelp you'll see horror stories of pictures taking half a year to a year). To that end, I cannot say more great things about Erin, Gavin's wife and partner in the business. Erin edits and adjusts all the pictures, and they are all perfect. I cannot say enough good things about Gavin and this review is now fairly long at this point. For anyone who is looking for a photographer in SoCal, Gavin should be your top choice. My husband and I are researchers so we always do a through research in our potential options when we are looking for some services. We scanned the recommendations from our venue, Wedding Wire, the Knot, google search, etc and Gavin and his team were on our top list. We then contacted Gavin, who responded us very quickly, and decided to have him as our photographer after a short phone call. It was not an impulse decision. During our short phone call, Gavin showed us that he is a very talented, professional, responsible and confident photographer - and these qualities are what we were looking for - we like people who is confident and knows he/she is the best at his/her job. Turns out we did make a very good decision. Gavin helped us a lot in our wedding day - he and his assistant worked with our other vendors so well that I don't need to worry about anything. He guided us through our first look and couple pictures - which turns out too amazing to be true. I haven't seen my wedding photos yet, but I'm writing this review at nearly 3am on my wedding night because I want to thank Gavin one more time. Gavin arrived on time and jumped right into photos. He has been at our Newport venue multiple times and is even featured in their luxury wedding magazine. I can tell also from my other vendors and from my venue that he is really highly regarded. He made us feel very comfortable and most importantly won our trust completely. He is calm, composed, patient, and super super nice. It was warm and bright on our pre-ceremony photo shoot, but Gavin knew all the places to stay cool in the shade while using natural reflectors to light us and also using cool lighting techniques to overcome the bright sun. Definitely one of our favorite vendors and really made the difference to our wedding day. He and his team worked tirelessly to catch every moment. Every time I had a candid moment with my family and husband, I would instantly hear clicking of the camera. I cannot wait to see these images!
