PLEASE NOTE: Kazuya wore a mask the entire shoot and made sure we were socially distanced. If I can give Kazuya more than 5-star, I would! I wanted to do a photoshoot for both business and pleasure, and after some research, I thought the rate and service from Kazuya were perfect for what I had in mind (I went through the reviews on Yelp). It is essential (especially for a photoshoot) to establish rapport with the photographer; this will determine your photos' outcome. Kazuya was one of the few responses I received within 20 minutes. He also gave the quote as well as letting me know I get to keep all the photos. Some photographers will only give you up to 10-15 photos, and you will have to pay for extra. I mean - what were you going to do with my photos? You certainly can't blackmail me for them later. (INSERT eye-rolling Emoji). Kazuya was pleasant, uplifting, and gracious on the phone. Yes, gracious - there wasn't any other word to describe him! Needless to say, the photoshoot went well! I had fun, was super comfortable with Kazuya, and I am very excited to get the photos back. He was nice enough to send me a few to make sure I like them - well, I LOVED them! I am sure this is the start of a long term professional relationship! P.S. Kazuya recently took our family pictures and I would absolutely recommend him! I booked with him the same night I message him. I messaged several photographers asking rates and locations they may recommend. Kazuya was the only person who responded with a quote, location WITH recent pictures and didn't ask for any consultation fee. He was flexible with my schedule and responded quickly via yelp/ texting. Our shoot session was great! The location he recommended was PERFECT! He is very skilled and professional. The location was full of people shooting pictures and with his amazing skills he was able to position us and block them out. He had the coolest ladybug attached to his camera to get my infants attention. Very patient with my 4 year old and infant. If I could give Kazuya 100 stars, I would. When I began my research for a wedding photographer, I was expecting to spend days combing through multiple portfolios until I found the right person. I sought advice from many of my friends who had recently planned their own weddings, some of whom were professional landscape or portrait photographers themselves. I had a detailed checklist of what I was looking for... When I finally decided it was the right time to start searching and contacting, by some lucky chance, I opened up LA craigslist and Kazuya was one of the first ads listed. I clicked through to look at his website and instagram, and I couldn't believe the amazing diversity of his photography. He was clearly capable of taking any kind of photo in any environment, and they were all spectacular. I double & triple checked the ad, saw his very reasonable price package, and thought it was too good to be true - The first person I looked at more than checked all of the boxes I was looking for in a photographer! I looked him up on yelp and other review sights, and only found a few reviews, but they were all incredibly glowing with praise. So I immediately called him, and we spoke briefly on the phone where he ensured he was the real deal. He is from Japan and has an obvious accent, but we were able to both talk slowly and understand each other without confusion. He confirmed that our wedding date was open on his calendar, so I thought it would be great to meet with him as soon as possible to make a final decision. I was willing to drive down to OC to meet him, but he insisted that he would drive up to Santa Monica instead. It was tough to deter him, and sure enough that weekend he drove up to meet me and my fiancé, and we knew within minutes that Kazuya was our guy. We had ambitious photographic goals for our wedding day, with action shots during a morning yoga class, outdoor portrait shooting in broad sunlight, and then of course the event itself which was indoors in a giant hall with different lighting. The day of our initial meeting, we discussed logistics at length, walked all around Santa Monica to collaborate upon an optimal gameplan, and Kazuya was incredibly excited about it all. He cherished the challenge and was clearly strategizing his own plan of cameras and lighting to maximize the day. He had a 2nd shooter Justin Kim that he recommended, and after looking at Justin's portfolio, we were equally convinced that we wanted the duo to cover our day. We actually had a 2nd meeting with Kazuya the weekend before the event, where he demanded once again to drive up to Santa Monica to meet with us, and we finalized all the details of our day. As for the day itself, well clearly everything went perfectly according to plan. Justin and Kazuya were a rockstar duo, covering us from beginning to end and documenting the entire day in incredible fashion. When working with larger groups, their personality was contagious, they knew how to have fun and make young children smile. They each carried 3 cameras and crazy lighting in order to absolutely nail every single shot. It was like being followed around by top-tier photographic robots at every angle. We felt like celebrities being pleasantly covered by adoring paparazzi. Kazuya had offered to print pictures for guests at the party, but we chose against that because we thought it would be too much time logistically, and that was a good decision. He was able to focus on covering the entire evening and get every shot that we had pre-discussed. When all was said and done, I knew the guys must have taken over 5000 photos throughout the day across their multiple cameras. We had no expectations for these pictures to be ready anytime soon, but within 2 weeks, Kazuya had gone through all the photos and chosen a selection of about 25 of the top shots, and edited with perfection, so that I could share with our friends. A few weeks later, he AGAIN went out of his way to meet us in Anaheim during my niece's birthday party (yes my 3-year old niece immediately recognized Kazuya from the wedding and called him the pictureman). And delivered a hard drive with 4,200 fully edited pictures, plus the raw original files of every one. I was absolutely flabbergasted with his professionalism and desire to go above and beyond. He said our event was one of his favorites and that he was able to relive the great party as he edited the pics. I know he must have slaved endlessly over this project and I couldn't possibly feel like any money that I paid would ever be enough. It has taken me some time to finally write this review, but I don't think I could recommend anybody on yelp as much as I would recommend working with Kazuya to document any of your photographic needs.
