This is our third Gaylord Hotel and I must say that they are all amazing... They are all very similar and clearly follow the same model. Reviews will not chnage much from location to location In a word... AWESOME. This establishment is nothing less than fantastic. My wife and I came down for our annual photography convention and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves both at the convention and enjoying the amenities of the hotel. Let me start off by saying that this place is huge that's capital HUGE yet it's very easy to maneuver. Everything is very connected here. Let me say right up front just how impressed I am and was with the folks at this hotel everybody here clearly makes the guests here a number one priority it was fantastic everyone was just so friendly and warm. I know that may sound a little strange but not all though I was there that I walked away with that same feeling. We had a beautiful room with a balcony facing the huge courtyard. It was spacious and the TV actually had man channels to choose from if were relaxing in our room. I just loved the fact that they gave us bottles of water. It's just. the little things that separate great places from Greater places. Everything here was impressive. The hotel is just loaded with gardens and different types of displays.. it's just a beautiful place to walk through. It's totally enclosed so while it was 45° outside it was a comfortable 68 inside. The restaurants we ate at here while fantastic the breakfast is fine at their market Place and Starbucks. The Italian restaurant which was perfect and that's coming from the New Yorker. We also had a meal at their sports bar. The highlight here is their Steak House. We are definitely looking forward to our return trip to enjoy more of what Gaylord has to offer. Front desk staff seem understaffed although they are very kind and professional and do what they can. The Valet falls short on every level. Slow to get car and slow to take the car. The prices are outrageous for mediocre food and drinks. The breakfast place would not even had Chilaquiles (No Chilaquiles in Texas!!! ). The Steak place was closed on a Thursday evening, the Italian is mediocre at best, fake attitudes in service and poor pasta.... The line for coffee one morning at their "Starbucks" coffee shop was longer than vaccines lines in the worst of the pandemic. Come on! You are Conventions hotel, you can predict the morning demand! Similar ridiculous lines to board trollies to water park. We are Platinum and Ambassador Elite and thought this was sad due to deficient management. The F&B manager owes some explaining. read more

unfortunately this place needs a face lift! the hallway smells chlorinated like the pool. The coffee in the rooms didn't have sleeves so it it way to hot to hold to drink. While i was there the fire alarm went off for an hour as a test. then they didn't have hot water for one full night. there is no concierge for members. ---crazy read more

I stayed here for five nights during a large company leadership conference. The staff did an excellent job accommodating us and were attentive to our needs, even with the large crowds for dining, cocktail hours, and meeting spaces. My only critique would be the lobby bar--while the cocktails were fine, the bartenders weren't particularly friendly, and they probably could've used one or two extra staff to handle the volume of requests. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with great housekeeping service providing free bottled water daily. The restaurants offered good food and service, though the cantina can get quite loud if you're trying to have a lunch meeting. There's plenty to do during free time, whether you're looking to relax or stay busy--spa, pool, fitness center, arcade, speakeasy, sports bar, and shopping. Tip: It's a Marriott so be sure to use your points and wear comfortable shoes! read more

Typically I don't like to give reviews until the end of a stay, but I'm making an exception for this hotel due to the clear lack of respect and care for the hotel guests. They booked me in a room with known construction going on in the room directly above, making it impossible to sleep, work, or focus in any way. I'm also actually shocked at how little they cared when I brought this up, saying, "they will be done soon" like this is actually unacceptable to the point where I'm considering a credit card charge back. Do better Marriott, I literally have the choice of any hotel when I'm traveling for work, and this has really got me furious. read more

Yes, I took my 6yr old daughter to ICE and we had a good time. The sculptures were really nice. It's cold but they give you parkas to keep you warm. We prepaid for everything which I believe is suggested as I didn't not see ticket stands anywhere to partake in any of the additional activities. read more

I stayed here a little over a week ago, and had a five star visit here! The entire hotel was decorated with Christmas lights & trees everywhere! The hotel was also pretty easy to get to as well. And the staff was very friendly too. A shout out to Shawn on the chef team, who actually went out of his way to help me locate the bag drop area, although doing so certainly wasn't the responsibility of someone on their cooking team. Junior also was cool too. Overall, it was a five star visit! Definitely recommend coming here during Christmas time. read more

This was a very beautiful hotel but for the hype I was mildly disappointed. Check in was pleasant and very easy! Walking over to my rooms the elevator wait was very long. Come to find out one of the two elevators are broken so that was a pain. The walls are not very soundproof. I could hear quite a bit and having that late at night isn't ideal. When you come here you are very far from anything else so you have to deal with their absurd pricing for any forgotten items. I purchased a chapstick and it was $6.50!! For over stock of chapstick. I was not thrilled. I also was surprised to find that my room didn't have a microwave and the mini fridge was not good at maintaining temperatures. All in all it is a beautiful hotel but not worth the hype or cost in my opinion. read more

The whole idea of having a resort that's set apart from everything else in the region as a self-contained experience is not something that I'm a huge fan of. If I come from somewhere else to Dallas, I want to actually see Dallas. This is not an easy place to get to from the airport and it offers no shuttle, requiring a fairly expensive ride due to the airport toll or one limited bus service to Grapevine. It is not easy to get to either Dallas or Fort Worth from here either. The conference center was spacious and relatively uncomplicated. The enclosed area is large and looks snazzy, but it's all very artificial. The hotel room was pretty basic; the walls were thin and other people yapping well into the night could be heard, the view was nothing special, and the amenities were not more than what I would expect at an average big-brand motel. The other Gaylord I've stayed in felt classier. To be fair, the people working here are quite attentive to customer service and there are a lot of them. As a conference venue, it was spacious, though large crowds had to funnel in for food. The food was nothing special, but I do give them credit for offering appropriate marking for special dietary needs. What really irked me though, were basic things that they didn't get right. The elevator buttons barely worked; and indeed I once got stuck on a floor and had to find some alternate elevators to get down. Someone came into my room (after knocking) and fixed a lightbulb shortly after I arrived. An escalator in the conference area was down. Just a lot of simple things, none of which ruined my experience per se, but the accumulation of which just did not speak well to the quality of design or maintenance of this facility. And given the price they charge, I feel justified in expecting better. So I say again, this whole notion of creating a set apart, contained environment where transportation costs extra to get there and it's hard to get out into the community to see attractions or pursue alternative food options, it results in a lack of economic competition within that environment, and it shows. read more

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. It is definitely worth seeing at least once but be prepared to walk. At least it is a beautiful walk. Getting in and out of the hotel or to and from your room is always going to be a hike. I will bring the family once but unless I am here for a conference, I will pick a smaller hotel. It is busy, so you will wait for just about everything. Then the food and drink prices are expensive. read more

Ok so....lovely resort during Christmas. Walking around during Christmas is gorgeous and exciting. Would I come back? Eh, probably not. Certainly not for the $500/night room cost this time of year. If you stay here, be prepared to spend money. Breakfast buffet is $32, even for a toddler. They also add 18% service fees to everything. Bell service is free. Parking is $22/day or double that for valet. Or room was very basic for a hotel room and while clean, it as kind of dated and basic for the nightly cost. LOVE LOVE LOVE! We had the most incredible time at the Gaylord! We have stayed at the Gaylord before, but again, I can't find my reviews or photos they must have gotten lost in the Yelp abyss. Anyway, that's all history now, bc we have NEVER had such an amazing time as this time! From the check in, to the check out it was just perfection! We had so much fun! It was completely Christmas festive, the place was decorated so beautifully! I got lots of new ideas for decorating at home. The Light show is amazing! ALL the Christmas trees were so beautiful! The whole place was so fancy & gorgeous! And all the little shops were amazing! I really enjoyed the market place, you turned me onto canned Gin and Tonic! It's so yummy! haha. Most Importantly, we also got to get decked out, go out fancy and have a couple of really lovely romantic evenings. The room was so nice! The bed was so comfy! We LOVED the shower! The view of the sunset over Grapevine from our room was amazing! So romantic. We got the most amazing service from the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out! Yes, it's expensive, but it's a resort! People pay even MORE for fake Disney Lie. Christmas at the Gaylord is way more classy and way more fun. We ended our stay with drinks at the Silver bar with a whole lot of other people into the magic of Christmas spirit & spirits! The drinks were a flowing and trying to get up the next morning, our age a showing! LOL Hungover, the bell man, Alan, came to help us get our luggage all the way to the garage I apologized for making him wait as I had obviously overslept. I told him, "we had too much fun in the Sliver Bar last night!" He laughed and said he was glad we had such a great time, that only the Cowboys stadium sells more liquor than the Gaylord, and that most people enjoy the Silver bar way way too much and also can't find their way to the garage. He told us he makes so many trips to the garage for people with their stuff that he is the fastest in the west! hahaha hahaha hahaha Alan took us all thru the hotel, got us to the Garage, FAST, just like he said he would. He even helped pack all the Christmas shopping & luggage into the car and helped us to get settled. He was so kind and caring he made us feel like family. Best trip of our life. We love you Gaylord! Unfortunately, I did not book for three nights. When I arrived, I was as surprised as they were. They really did not help me book another hotel room for the evening, even though I was due to return the next day, the woman behind the guy that was helping me was completely silent, and I felt very discriminated against even though I have a hotel reservation tomorrow, they weren't very helpful at all. It was a disgusting customer service moment. There's a whole bunch more they could've done that time . And they failed.. read more

It feels more like an amusement park or theme park rather than a hotel. Start off with the fact that the property has a GIGANTIC air conditioned dome over it, so although there is grass and trees and plants, and the like, the illusion that you are "outside" is overwhelming. This gaylord mirrors the typical gaylord (actually, with the layout of the main building standing eerily similar to that of the one in Orlando. ) The huge atrium is vast, hosting confusing and disorienting pathways and large restaurants ranging from a sports bar to Tex mex to old hickory's steakhouse. The spa was quite busy (elite members receive complimentary day passes) and had a sauna and steam room. The showers were fine. The fitness center has adequate ellipticals, Pelotons and weights. There is an indoor and outdoor pool attached, but a shuttle is required to get to the water park (kids water playground, store, food, water slides, small zip line, and a nice lazy River) You can walk there in about 10 min The beds and pillows stand out at this Gaylord, as they are extremely comfortable and the pillows are soft yet structured and supportive! The rooms are fine and the corner suites have a dining table and separate large seating area. We frequent gaylord for conferences so I'll be back! read more

Dallas local. I've seen reviews for years about this being the best place in Texas for Christmas. I decided to spoil and do a weekend to experience the Christmas magic. Parking was packed. Yes. There was construction noise that woke us up. Yes. But would I come back again? Every single year. What makes this place "magical" as it turns out wasn't the lights or the ice (although both are incredible!). It's every single staff member who treats you like a VIP. It's restaurant servers, checkin staff, EMT (Weekend was eventful. Staff were absolutely wonderful), and the hot coco ladies. Everyone treats you like a VIP. Staying on property? Now you're a VVIP. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that we had to park very far away from the hotel and stand in the 10 degree (negative wind chill) and wait for charter buses to take us to the hotel. Also so pay for parking l. When we came two years ago for Christmas things we parked at the hotel for free. After waiting outside in the lot I feel like I got the ice experience without the parka. I'd give 3.5 if I could. Is this a massive hotel, yes. Was staff friendly and prompt, yes. However, for the price I was paying per night, I expected a lot more. Maintenance had to be called to the room twice to fix the toilet, the in-hotel restaurants were slow and not prepared, and the elevator in the parking garage broke and was clearly neglected. The ICE thing was super cool, but as a guest of the hotel; having to pay for it was a bit annoying. Overall, this was nice, but not worth the price. read more

The venue is beautiful of course. They were in the middle of removing the Christmas decor when I arrived on January the 4th. I had a balcony that allowed for me to have a beautiful view. My room was fine. Others in my group said their rooms were dirty, hot or within the airlines path so they couldn't sleep. The food provided for a convention I was attending was good. The service was good with the employees. They were all friendly for the most part. My complaint is the fire alarm went off at 3:27am to evacuate down the stairs. I was on the sixth floor. This was the first night I arrived after an 11 hour delayed flight and needed to be up at 6am. Not a good feeling at all. It was a false alarm. I stayed an extra night from the convention to relax and enjoy sleeping in, and you guessed it..... the fire alarm to evacuate went off at 5:02am. Which after frantically running down again, it was a false alarm. I was told they are having trouble with their system. So 2 of the 4 nights I stayed they alarm shook me out of my sleep. Needless to say, I just packed my belongings and headed to the airport to see if I could get an earlier flight since I wasn't able to fall back to sleep after being scared out of my sleep. read more

I am a delivery/shopper. Trying to deliver orders to the guest at the hotel is horrible. I have delivered there many times. And every time the employees that work there give me a different story on how I can deliver to the guest. In the past I was able to leave it at the luggage area if I had the guest's full name, because you can't leave it at the check out area. Another time, the manager told me, I could not leave it at the luggage area. She told me to either have the guest pick it up in the lobby or leave it at there room. Now today, was told I couldn't even bring it to the room, even when I had the permission from the guests to bring it to their room. The guest had to come in the lobby to get it. This place used to be so classy. Not anymore. My suggestion to Gaylord is to make it more delivery friendly for the driver and the guests. read more

I have been stuck in the parking garage for 30 minutes without moving. Absolutely absurd for that to happen at a hotel.

On business restaurant Catina steak is chewy. Towels are rough stains on pillows it's a dated place aged poorly.

At first impression the hotel is overwhelming in size and décor. There are so many things going on and the Atrium vegetation and lights compliment each other and gives it a magical appearances. Unfortunately, the service and guest treatment was not special and at times felt overlooked and passed on. We had to wave our waitress down to just take our order. This happened multiple times and on our last day of our 3 night stay, we opted to go outside the resort for our meals. This is disheartening for us. We are loyal members and earn enough points to earn Elite status but we felt unappreciated. read more

I'm not going to really comment other than to say it's not as awesome as the advertising makes it look and it's pretty expensive. You choose what you want your disposable income to go to but we won't be back. The most upsetting thing being there was how they dollar and fiver you (see what I did there...more expensive than nickel and dime). It's complete selfishness on their part and is truly a lack of respect and appreciation for the customers already giving them hundreds of dollars. Examples: a) 12 mini donuts - $9.75. I didn't see prices anywhere and didn't catch it until my card was mid-tap. Were they good? No. Old, reheated to be hot and bad cinnamon/ sugar mixture. b) Auntie Annie's cup of nuggets - $9.45. Stale. Those prices are annoying but I was having fun with my kids and wasn't getting upset. Until... c) My daughter was thirsty while doing the art painting. I asked the drink sellers if I could have a cup of tap water. "No, but we can sell you this normal size Aquafina for $5.11." $5.11?!?!! For some basic Aquafina?? Unbelievable. Seriously Gaylord, we are all people just trying to show their kids a fun time. One that everyone has already paid handsomely for by the way. How much profit is enough for you guys? read more

Customer service and additional charges Monique and Maya are the rep and Manager I dealt with in my incident my card on file kept getting charged there was a mistaken charge of a rollaway bed and incidentals on room charges ... so basically every time you charge something to your room they take an additional $100 every time they tied up $408 then $675 then $749 all in one day When confronted about it Monique explained that's just the way we do business and it will be credited back in 7-10 What a crock of shyt .... The Christmas events in 2021 are so expensive & not at all worth it. You get to decorate a $10 gingerbread house for $49.99. We spent $120 for 5 people to do snow tubing, my kids went once & said it was boring. Snowman building was okay - but $30!?$? A totally, complete rip-off. There are so so so many better things to do in Texas. Unless you have money that expires in the new year that you have to use (lol), avoid this place! read more

This place is huge! The college team from Michigan is staying here there were 6 buses parked out front they had a whole wing of the hotel blocked off for just them. We passed them as the player we heading to the buses to goto practice. We walked around the place is very busy we were going to goto some of the winter activities but it cost a LOT OF MONEY!! The prices they charge is outrageous I don't understand why people spend that much money for just a short time to go through and see ice and to skate and go down a slide. It's also expensive to stay they charge $17. a person to ride a shuttle 4 miles to the hotel. Get a Uber it $15 for 4 people. And then if you have a car you pay over $20 a day to park and them there's the resort fee daily if you only sleep at the hotel and your out all day you miss the activities that they have and you pay for nothing. read more

Stayed here in July 2023. Although they list quite a number of eateries unfortunately, every weekday I stayed here it was food roulette because you never knew what was going to be open at what time. At no time were there more than two restaurants running during the course of 8a-9 pm and a lot of times it would be one restaurant open in the morning which closed right at lunchtime then you'd have to go find somewhere else in the hotel to see which restaurant was open for lunch. Dinner was no better. In addition, the hotels app was incorrect as to what restaurants were open at what time forcing us to walk around the property to find a restaurant that was open. Also prices in items listed on the app we're not necessarily the same price as it were charged in the restaurants. If there are seven restaurants on property here during the week, they were certainly never more than two open at any given time over the course of a day. I came for a conference did not rent a car sofound this to be prohibitively expensive to have to Uber and leave the hotel to get food. The hotel itself is fine but starving your guests is not. (P.S. I am NOT a picky eater and have no dietary restrictions.) read more

The Gaylord Texan is our favorite place to visit for a special occasion. The staff is always amazing and helpful. One of the managers, Shelly Robb has amazed me with how helpful she is. She has gone above and beyond for us when we have visited and is a huge reason we keep coming back. We love the Gaylord Texan for a family trip as they always have something fun and exciting for the kids to do. The water park is fun for both kids and adults and is a must do during the warmer months. For adult trips we still think the Gaylord is great as the Glass Cactus provides a fun adult getaway on the property. Overall the property is amazing and it never leaves us disappointed. read more
