The Omni Las Colinas Hotel is a long standing hotel in the Irving-Las Colinas area that is a popular place for businesses. It also has a little known coffee shop called Over The Counter that is a nice hole-in-the-wall that is a perfect place to grab a nice cup of coffee and view of Lake Caroyln. This review is for Over The Counter. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Coffee, Return) Atmosphere - You'll find Over The Counter to the right of the check-in desk within the Omni Hotel. This coffee shop is a hidden gem because of the amazing views of Lake Carolyn and the Omni Hotel pool. This is a great spot if you're looking for a place to work while waiting for your Uber to head to the airport. The seats against the window have power outlets to charge your devices. It's quiet, not to busy, and even if you're not staying at the Omni Hotel a great place to grab a cup of coffee. Service - The Omni Hotel staff is very nice. Like most coffee shops, you'll place your order, customize it, and a barista will expertly craft your cup of coffee. On my visit, they asked what kind of milk I wanted (2%), and when I needed help with the Wi-Fi, they were super helpful in getting me online. 1 Star. Coffee - The coffee is nice and strong. My iced latte was smooth and had me buzzing. I had to sip it to ensure I prep for my meeting. I can't stress how awesome it is to enjoy a dup of coffee in a nice setting with an amazing view. My only minor feedback is that Over The Counter is in a the Omni Hotel, so expect to pay a little extra. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. Now that I've discovered Over the Counter, I can imagine myself coming here on occasion to do work or conduct professional meetings. I stayed at this location a few years ago for a conference and decided to do a staycation this time around. I chose Omni Las Colinas because I remembered how nice it was and how comfortable I felt--and I'm so glad I did. There are tons of nearby restaurants and activities, which makes the location even better. My return visit was nothing short of awesome. From valet to check-in, the experience was great. All of the valet gentlemen were wonderful, but Tre truly stood out by going above and beyond. The front desk staff was welcoming, my accommodations were excellent, and the hotel itself is still just as beautiful as I remembered. They also had a Valentine's pop-up, which was a really sweet touch. I didn't have lunch or dinner onsite, but the breakfast buffet was good--especially for the price. I also stopped by for snacks on my way up to my room and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available. The room was well laid out, incredibly clean, and came with the perfect view. I did experience an issue with the room phone and wasn't able to reach anyone initially. When I went down to the front desk to request towels, I mentioned the issue and was told to dial directly instead of using the phone buttons. My towel request didn't make it up that night, but when I followed up the next morning before breakfast, the towels were waiting in my room when I returned. Overall, it was a great stay, and I can't wait to return. May even try out other Omni locations in the area. read more

Their workout room is well equipped with just about any exercise or workout you want to do. However, go past the pool and take a stroll outside along the canal. Major props to the valet service. I recently stayed at the Omni Las Colinas for five days on a business trip and decided to extend my stay to visit friends. The experience was outstanding. Check-in was seamless, and the gym was a highlight for me. The location is also incredibly convenient. While there was a conference that made elevator wait times longer, it just shows how popular the hotel is. I want to give a special shout-out to Jamie, who I spoke with several times at the bar. He not only recommended the buffalo wings, which have an amazing crispy texture and delicious sauce, but also provided exceptional service. I enjoyed those wings three times during my stay. I could have tried many restaurants in Dallas, but these wings were simply the best. Anthony also deserves recognition for his fantastic customer service. Even during busy nights at the packed bar, he made me feel like I was the only guest there. It's clear that the Omni Las Colinas has hired a great team, and that level of service will definitely keep guests coming back. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. read more

The Omni was a nice place to stay. When we first pulled up we chose to valet which was fine but they didn't come to our vehicle as well as we needed a cart for all of items for our stay. My boyfriend also recently had surgery so we had some medical items that needed to be brought in as well. They just stood there and avoided eye contact until I walked over to them and asked for a cart and their response was oh we are really busy right now there isn't one. I said well we are going to valet our vehicle and we can't move til we get one. At this point my boyfriend had come around on his mobility scooter and then they finally got that we needed help because I couldn't carry everything myself. One of them went and found us a cart which was very kind of him and asked if I would bring it back down when we were done of which I said of course. My boyfriend checked us in and said the front desk was very friendly. Also from an accessibility standpoint there is a ramp to get to the front door but it is off to the side a ways and it has some odd sharp turns which made it not user friendly for my boyfriends mobility scooter. The room was beautiful and we loved the layout. The fridge does not keep things cold just keeps them cool. The bathroom was very nice and updated except for the toilet. It was extremely low to the ground. It reminded me of a children's toilet it was so low. The views were incredible of the lake and the Dallas skyline and we spent a lot of time just catching the views. We stayed 2 nights and when we went to check out I went and got a cart (there were lots of them at this point) and the front desk asked if I needed help. It was the first time in 2 days I had been asked if I needed help which was very kind of him. I told him I was good and took the cart up and loaded it and then took it down outside to load up the truck. The valet were all standing there as my truck had already been pulled around so I asked if they could help me with the cart because when we checked in when valet finally helped me he actually pushed it up the stairs (they are very small). They stood there this time and told me to use the ramp. And turned their back towards me. I was frustrated and said "well when we checked in they brought it up the stairs I'm sorry." At this point my boyfriend had made it out on his mobility scooter and then the valet jumped to help me navigate the cart down the terrible ramp. The valet then told me that they aren't allowed to use the stairs anymore because the wheels fall off. I just said ok. I was tired of trying to get consistency from them, as well as only getting help when my boyfriend showed up. They helped me load my truck and I helped my boyfriend get in the truck and we left. Overall, the hotel was beautiful. Accessibility was a bit rough. The toilets oddly low. And the service in my mind for the standard that Omni is usually was known for was less than I have experienced in other Omni hotels. Definitely stay here if you are looking for absolutely phenomenal views! read more

Enjoyable? Yes and no. Having stayed at many Omni properties, Las Colinas is one of the more walkable and situated along a lake. Nearby restaurants are a short stroll away. That said, after spending beaucoup at this location, taking room service and always tipping well, it is seriously disappointing to learn room night rewards are, in my opinion, quite limited in how they're applied. Based on this, will reevaluate when booking group needs in the future. read more

They block off the walkway for pedestrians for a private event and trap people inside with no way to exit, instead of just unlocking the gate and letting those trapped inside exit they force you to walk an additional hour in the opposite direction. My dog was exhausted and my apartment would have been literally on the opposite side of the gate they didn't want to open read more

Our overall experience was exceptional. From the valet greeting to checkout, every staff interaction was wonderful. Samantha welcomed me with a warm "Happy Birthday," and I was delighted to find a dessert and beverages waiting in my room. Mark, our waiter and bartender for both nights, provided excellent service. Although it was disappointing that the spa was closed, as that was a main reason I chose this hotel for my birthday staycation, I truly appreciated Samantha upgrading our room to make up for it. We took full advantage of the restaurants, gym, and indoor lounge locations during the winter storm. Nice hotel. Our room was beautiful. Great location along the lake. You have to go walk around it! Friendly staff. Only major con was they were having a lot of parties at night and were allowing the party goers to park in vallet parking and it was maxing the garage, so you either had to keep your vehicle there at night to keep your spot and uber or use your vehicle but wait in 2 hour parking until a spot became available... we also ate at the downstairs bar and restaurant. We got the burger and wagyu belly and the bone marrow appetizer. The burger was delicious and the fries were the best part! read more

A great hotel with beautiful rooms with many overlooking a lake. I had an amazing room with a living room area. It was quiet and I felt safe. The staff at the desks were great as were those in the restaurant. I am a frequent visitor for work so it's nice to feel a little like home. It's very pretty inside. As a frequent guest you get free beverage when you hit a certain number of visits. They have internet in the rooms but have to pay $4.95 per day for the higher speed. The food at the restaurant was excellent. We have a company function each month there and they never disappoint. Breakfast is too expensive (in my opinion). I paid $16 for coffee and oatmeal! The coffee shoppe however was less than impressive. The two times I went in the staff were rude. The lady in the morning was late getting started and turned many people away when she could have easily helped them with a quick purchase. As I sat in the lobby area I watched her put the pastries out with without gloves...wiping her hands on her pants a few times. Touching many high touch point area that hundreds touch each day and not wearing gloves or more importantly not using a utensil was disgusting. We had such a lovely stay here, the hotel is so gorgeous and so close to the Toyota Music Factory, which was extremely helpful since we were in town for a concert -- it's walking distance! We also had a slight issue with the dates we booked, but Gabriella, the hotel's loyalty ambassador, was amazing and so helpful. She truly saved our trip. I don't remember the gentleman's name that was helping me before our call dropped, but he listened to my issue and was very polite. When the call disconnected, I called back and got the front desk manager, Brittany. While explaining the situation to her, she kept interrupting/wouldn't fully listen to the situation, said they would only do one night refund and then proceeded to tell me to "calm down". Well lets be frank, if she would've just been quiet and listened for 3 seconds... instead of trying to be right, which we all know you were very misinformed, this could've been handled last week, when you were first notifed. I proceeded to send her the documents she requested and of course, less than 10 minutes later, we were provided with an email stating a full refund will be given. Hotel error as they don't pay attention. If you're going to be so obnoxious and constantly speaking when someone is talking only to be wrong, you should work on that, especially as front desk manager. (Seeing the other reviews about the front desk make sense now) As someone that worked in hotels for many years, this was very unprofessional of Brittany. Hopefully someone will listen to the call or reach out as I did record the conversation. A lot of review state that the hotel is "old" or "very dated". I can see how these reviews reflect this as it is on the older side, however they have done a few things to keep the look of a higher class hotel and it really makes you take a step back to an older time when this was the ritz, the place to be if you had money. For work, this is one of the nicer hotels we've stayed and and we enjoyed it. It's nice to be situated right on a man made lake and other canals. There are a few places that are in walking distance, and there is an old shopping district/business district across the street on the canals which is now eerily quite and deserted. It's super sad to walk around there and think of how this place used to be, I'm guessing prior to COVID. The staff was super friendly and the lobby, rooms, and outside portions of the property were super clean. Now, there are 2 things that absolutely KILL my mood for the next day and determine how I view my stay at hotels and they are 1) bed comfort 2) shower temperature. This review almost ended in 2 stars as one of these items was a total bust. I had woke up (great sleep due to very comfortable bed), walked 6 miles around the lake and had an hour to get ready for work. All the water in the place was cold, like drinking water cold. I basically was able to wash my hair and washcloth wash up. However, I spoke with my business partner who agreed the late morning shower was indeed very cold but he showered the previous night after his workout and the temp was "super hot". So I will retain a good review, chalking it up to maybe something broke and can't wait to return to try it again. Everything else made the stay great. Thanks again! read more

Went for a business trip sponsored by my organization. The aesthetics were optimal to the senses, valet was prompt and friendly and the wait staff were generous with their customer service however, that front desk and the housekeeping staff were HORRIBLE! They ruined my trip! Jeremy and housekeeping accused me of breaking the bathroom mirror-it was shattered to pieces. My room was so noisy due to the elevator pulleys and the front desk REFUSED to change my room. I couldn't plug anything in because the electricity would go out in the room. My iron in the room did not work. Housekeeping could never find my room and sent it to room 9, mind you, I was 10. The guests were late for EVERYTHING because only 1 elevator worked. It was a horrible experience. Getting back to the mirror, my mirror sat on the TV stand but the broken one was in the bathroom. This staff was very unprofessional, unorganized said housekeeping needs to be fired for being inadequate at their jobs. We have options for Texas or Georgia, next time I WILL NOT be headed to the lone state. Jeremy and housekeeping should be fired! Incompetence of this group made the trip very difficult. Advise: do NOT allow housekeeping in your room alone with your personal items. They do not clean. I found a blonde hair under this bathroom mirror. Did they clean it, nope. The dame rag shr wiped down the toilet with she wiped thr vanity with. Yep I was disgusted. Thank God I always pack my Clorox travel wipes. This Omni Hotel located in Las Colinas left my family and I very disappointed. The Omni Hotel offers Mother's Day brunch buffet so decided to attend this year. Jumbo prawns and King crab legs were the highlight of the brunch buffet. The buffet began at 10:30am I believe and lasted until 2:00pm. The king crab and snow crab legs were completely done by 12:30pm and unfortunately the jumbo prawns never showed up! The kitchen overcooked the lobster claws as well. Who overcooks lobster claws?! $65 for a buffet that advertised king crab legs, snow crab legs and jumbo prawns would totally be worth it but what would you pay for this buffet?! Highlight was Juan, he had great customer service and made omelettes quickly. The french toast area was also a great experience. read more

Overall one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Hotel itself was nice and was in a beautiful location however the staff and clerks are absolutely oblivious and have no sense of urgency. Without going into detail, the hotel charged me twice and charged me and my roommate twice again for the incidental fees. There was no sense of urgency to fix the situation and nothing they did really helped get my money back. I had to file three disputes to get my money back because the hotel was zero help in the entire situation though it being their fault. In the end, there's better hotel options in the area that have a nicer view and accommodate more to their costumers than this slum of a hotel. read more

DO NOT VALET! My car (tesla) got scratched in the bottom because it sounded from where they pulled out and even the valet guy admitted. But the manager of Omni "Jemery Mason" said that the valet area where they pull the cars are always like that. He said that all other cars and Tesla goes through like that and it is okay. My bridal shower was hosted by my friends in a private area at the Omni. I drove myself and allowed Valet to handle the vehicle. The gentleman who took the vehicle told me to settle it at the registration counter prior to claiming my vehicle at the end of the night - that was it. Went to the party. My friends did an outstanding job setting up and hosting everything. I was truly humbled and we had a great time. At the end of the celebrations, I went up to the registration counter and paid for my parking (keep in mind, they took the valet ticket, told me my total, processed my payment and handed me back the ticket). I go outside and am waiting - along with a few other people - for about 15 mins for someone to come to the valet stand to get the ticket ... nothing. So we go back in to ask if they're just on break or what. Turns out, Valet had BEEN closed for some time already. My question: 1) where on earth is my car key 2) why on earth would NOBODY mention that prior to now?! To add insult to injury, in trying to get answers from the guy at the registration, he got EXTREMELY disrespectful and rude. Again, I wasn't the only one there stranded with no keys, no clue where my car was and just trying to leave! I had to ask to speak with the manager who eventually came, refunded our money, had the maintenance employee find our keys and tell us where our cars were. All in all, it took an extra HOUR to finally get into our respective vehicles. I was so disgusted by the whole experience. read more

Restroom a little out dated.. toilet really low lol.. you hv to pay for parking... the A/C in our room was not working properly so we call front desk they told us they were going to sent someone right away.... Ummm... they showed up at midnight knocking on our door (we called them at 7:30pm) and I guess they have their own key because they were trying to open the door my husband had to stand at the door and jst tell them it was fine. WTH!!! While Texas tends to get some bad publicity when it comes to the pandemic, they spaced everyone accordingly while still maintaining a lively atmosphere. Their lower-level poolside also fit our entire party, albeit on sensory overload after the silent disco portion of the night. Great location, super close to the airport. Dinner at LRH Restaurant was yummy and the hot chocolate and cold nitro brew at OTC started the morning off on the right foot. It's easily accessible by Hwy 114 (John Carpenter Hwy), I 635 (LBJ Fwy) and by train. Great location to visit or commute to Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. For romantic getaways, there's a gondola ride available on the lake. It's also pet-friendly with Paws Colinas less than 1.5 miles away. Mokara Spa is on property and you don't have to stay there to enjoy a day of pampering. read more

I really want to give 2 stars but the employees and management really tried their best to right their wrongs so I am giving 3. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Rooms are clean and spacious, although the walls are paper thin which was annoying. My issue was with the in room dining- every single day I was there (3 days) there was an issue. First night we tried to order food at the bar at 11:05pm they said no more food but in room dining is 24hrs at late at night they have a very limited menu- we were all starving, so back to our rooms we went to order food. I ordered a panini club with a coke, comes with kettle chips at 11:15pm and it was delivered at 12:30am!!! I was so hungry, had not eaten all day that I was surprised I waited up for the food. The young guy was so apologetic when he finally delivered my meal and I can tell they were slammed. He said it was on the house, which I appreciated and he was on his way. At 11:15pm (when I ordered my late night dinner) I also ordered breakfast for 6am (we had a car coming to pick us up at 6:30am for a conference we were in town for) Well 6:05am rolls around and still no breakfast. I call and they say they saw the order here but with no time specified so they weren't sure when to have it ready by. Ever heard of calling the room to find out?! They said they could not have anything ready in 20 min. Unacceptable!! We were counting on that meal - there was no food provided at the conference and we would not be back until 3pm. I asked them to make a quick breakfast sandwich and I will take it to go. Upon hanging up with the front desk, my colleague calls me that they forgot her breakfast too!! She was a speaker that morning so there is no way she would be able to perform on an empty stomach. We couldn't both go hungry now. I call back and tell them to scratch the to go sandwich and to please give us our original orders delivered in our rooms. I had to call the transportation service and have them wait 45 min which was a total inconvenience but we had to eat or we wouldn't make it through the day. The manager comes and delivers the food personally and apologizes profusely which I appreciated, and again he said it was on them. At this point I didn't want anymore free meals, I just wanted to receive what I had asked for and at the specified time!!! The only problem with the breakfast was that when they brought it, it was all packed to go, which then took me longer to rummage through everything and set it all out to eat. Whatever, I gobbled it all up immediately. Nasty thing was there was a jar of half eaten jam in my bag (gross) The next day the breakfast was fine. We returned from conference break at 4pm and I ordered a cheeseburger for lunch in my room and added bacon and avocado. A young man delivers it to my room with a manager shadowing him and she very nicely introduced herself. Great. I sit down to eat and there was no bacon in my bacon avocado burger ... I had to call and they sent some up ten min later or so but I think glass would've been easier to chew on than that bacon they sent over. So there you have it. Lovely hotel, but the system they have in place is dysfunctional. read more

We have celebrated a few anniversaries here, Fourth of July and NYE! The decor and overall feel of the hotel is dated, but lovely. This place has been our home away from home on many occasions. It is very laid back and the staff are very accommodating and handle everything with a high level of service. We have even cancelled our stay at the Gaylord Texan to come out here bc the pool area is more relax and quiet. You only want to make an extra $125 non refundable charge vs supporting mental illness. Tisk Tisk! That is basically a violation if you ask me.
