The only gym I've ever bought a membership for. I've been "coming" to this gym for over 6 years. This place is always clean and has lots of equipment. This location in general is always packed. I suggest coming in the mornings because afternoons are busy. The sauna and steam room are a great addition. They also have a day care and a juice bar. I've attended many of their classes and have loved all the instructors! read more

this place is a dump. Went here for a tour. Was told to "just walk around". Got a free "week" pass that was only valid for 5 days. The entire place is disgusting and grimey. Nobody puts the weights back. Its so busy you can barely move. The showers are dirty. No soap in 2 of the showers that i tried. No towels provided. Toilets overflowed both times I went. Random stuff all over floors in shower area. Its a shame as this place has potential to be pretty nice. read more

The gym itself is incredible. It's clean, really good equipment, and the staff there is AMAZING!!! However, I hired a personal trainer from GB3 who's name was Kendrick Brown. I told him I had applied for several different jobs one of which was a State Police Officer. I told him I wanted to get into better shape just incase I got the job. I also told him that at anytime I could be hired on, and would no longer need his services. He told me his clients paid upfront six months in advance but if I no longer needed his services he'd refund the money. In October of last year I got a job that had a rotating schedule which made it difficult to keep a steady appointment with the personal trainer. I informed him of the new job at which time I would have been refunded $200. He asked if I could give him some time to pull the money together and I agreed. I would text him about once a month asking about the refund and each time he would ask for a little more time. It's now been 9 months and he still refuses to refund the money. This is obviously not GB3's fault. However, if your interested in hiring a personal trainer be very careful who you choose. Some are not as truthful as you might think. read more

Ive never been to a gym where if u were to use a free guest pass, they wouldnt let u in because of my old address on my drivers license. The blonde girl @ the front dest said we needed to bring proof of address. That's ridiculous. Adrian, the manager should be more courteous to potential new clients because me, my boyrfriend, and cousin were seriously thinking about joining. This place needs serious help. In the beginning I availed myself of a "personal trainer" which must actually be just some person hired and given a title. When I asked what machines I should work on to help strengthen neck muscles where I have pain, his advice was "Oh, no limitations. Just work through it." What an idiot. I never asked for another session as their advice could cause far more harm than good. It is very overcrowded, especially the pool area. Extremely hard to get a lane if you want to swim and people will crowd you and try to share single lanes meant for only one (there are two shared lanes on each side for that purpose). And you cannot believe how many people blow their nose and spit in the outside shower and in the pool. There is no attendant at the pool so no one says anything. A revolting part of my day. And I LOVE to exercise. read more

We recently moved here from the coast and gyms like this are a lot more pricey than what they charge for. I understand that in the area there are a lot of places you can pay $10 a month to get a work out and if that fits you great however if you're wanting somewhere where you can take classes also have a sauna along with dry heat a swimming pool water aerobics and a amazing play center for your children while you work out it's worth the extra few bucks a month. I was amazed at all of the different services they offer along with they have a açai and smoothie bar coming soon inside the gym. The kids area has a designated section for babies and toddlers along with a huge gymnasium for the children. We're really impressed and absolutely love coming here. The only downside is sometimes it can get extremely crowded. There also is a space with three punching bags if you like to box. My husband loves going to the boxing gym this allows him to get his weight training in boxing in the same designated location. read more

Cody was amazing! I have been a member with gb3 for many years (probably 10+) and normally just do the spin classes (best instructors are at this location!) and this is the first time I have ever used the weight machines. They've always intimidated me for some reason. I have also worked with at least 2 gb3 trainers throughout the years. I went there a week ago and asked the staff up front if there was someone who could show me how to use a few of the machines. There were no trainers there so they asked Cody to help me, even though that wasn't his job. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and approachable. He spent nearly 30 min showing me the machines that would work the areas I was interested in and even showed me exactly how to use them. For the first time ever, I feel comfortable walking into my gym and utilizing it to its fullest! I really appreciate Cody! read more

This gym is a great size to do your workout without being interrupted or waiting for a machine. The hours are perfect...usually from 430am-1130Pm..Changes during holidays. Two separate rooms for classes and a lot of room for personal stretching and lifting. A good amount of mirrors to perform in accurate form with exercises. Polite staff and from what I've seen well educated personal trainers. read more

2 Stars for GB3. Closer to 1 1/2. One employee is exemplary. (the short haired, black girl. Always with a great smile). This place is SO outdated, dark and dirty.(Speaking of the one at E Nees & Cedar) Many of the machines are out of order. Most with signs. Makes me nuts! And I think they don't know how to manage floor space. Too much equipment for the size of the barn. I've been to much nicer clubs, but mostly out of town. (San Jose and Morgan Hill--YMCA is incredible). GB at Palm is nice, once you get past the desk's stone cold crew. But what irks me is the WATER! Now at GB3, not one cool or cold water dispenser. I guess they just want to sell water. Don't drink it anyway. I recently had my water tested at home and brought a bottle from GB3 for testing. Not pretty. My home water tested much cleaner and my Brita filtered was really good. What would it take to have a water filter installed on each of the 3 locations. And as for the $10 guest fee, that is not cheap as one person indicated. Not if your friend or relative is visiting for 5 days or one month. At the YMCA, MH they issue a book of 10 passes for $40! Now that is sweet! Invest some money to update GB3, enlarge the facility--or close it. It is dismal. Give this place a facelift! And some lighting! read more

Where do I start...?? I cant believe the way people are treated at this gym (ALL LOCATIONS). I just finished reading the other reviews on this site & others and I have had many of the same experiences. I dont know if it has to do with who is working there that day but its like new rules come flying out of no where. I never knew of a gym to even have Rules like that. For example the I.D thing that the other reviews are talking about. I have been a member since 2007 and was recently kicked out because I didnt have my ID to prove it was my account! Now this is fucking annoying.. I pay every month on time and have been there forever and your going to deny me access to my gym membership. What a freakin joke. This isnt the first time it has happened. In the last month this has happened at 2 different locations w/ 3 different girls at the counter. I have never had this problem before and was never once told i need to bring my ID to work out. PLUS the fact that no one else walking in when I do needs an ID so how does that make sence. I have talked to many mamangers relating to this issue: jennifer, adrien & sean. Also including two women in there corp. office (kim & someother old lady) who never do anything to help me yet the managers continue to give me there office number so they dont have to deal with the problem. I have delt w/ Kim many times and she has yet to do anything but be a bitch. Why do you even have managers if they cant do there job and have no desire to help there members. This gym isnt exactly cheap so to recieve horrible service is just un called for. Other problems that I have had there is 1. it is never clean & i feel disgusting having to use those machines when I have never once seen them cleaned. 2. the aerobic classes are always packed & instructors are too often late for a one hour class.... why? 3. the locker rooms are always nasty!! I DONT RECOMMEND THAT ANYONE JOIN THIS OVER PRICED- OVER RATED GYM. It is a serious waste of money. After a few times in there and your first problem or question, you'll never want to go back. Shocked to see the review from 4 months ago about the broken down elliptical machines and they're still not fixed. There are at least 4 with issues (it's become a little bit of a joke, when I come in, I know not to even try certain ones, because they've been broken so long, I've memorized which is which)...one feels like you're moving in gravel (see grinding pepper comment below), at least one does nothing when you press the buttons, another makes a high pitched squeal, and another has something broken and when you start moving, your legs move so freely that I think the belts are broken or something? That's the worst one because it's probably easy to get injured on that one, it's like when you think the milk is full and use a lot of force to get it out of the fridge, but it's totally empty. Then there's at least 3 that do nothing when you plug your headphones in to watch tv, just static or garbled noise. Come on GB3! I'm sure you can afford it... Other than that....it's all good! read more

Bad music and bad choice in TV the Zumba class instructor did not communicate and was not at all interactive . This was the Sunday class at 9' it felt more like a zombie class than a Zumba class. Equipment isn't not well placed and very crowded feeling. read more

yeah this is the nicest gym in fresno. but that's because it's just the fresno "trend" to go here. it's cool and pretty social but at the same time it's overcrowded, messy, and nothing really special at all. people always forget to rerack weights and perform common gym etiquette. it's constantly busy in there even though they have 5 locations. gotta decent pool and the staff seems to do an okay job at maintaining the gyms functionality. 30 bucks a month is solid but i mean there are other gyms out there that provide the same equipment for a cheaper price. read more

Stop here to workout while on fam vacation. I should have figured it wasn't a gym. It says sports club on the side of the building. Clean and everyone appropriately dressed like a health club. Had no issues until I did my last exercise. DEADLIFT. The manager of the place came over while I was in between sets and said you can't slam the weights down. I said I'm deadlifting. Can't really deadlift without some small degree of dropping the weights. He did not wait to see if I was really slamming the weights and just listening to the acoustics of the sound. His name is Sean and was quite rude. It's a shame cause without this tift I would have probably given a better review. Thanks Sean! read more

BEWARE of robberies. Do not go to GB3 in Clovis if you value your personal belongings and your wallet. The policy at the GB3 Gym in Clovis is to allow the robbers (Guests) to pay $10.00 and Walla no ID is required for their short stay. I went to this gym regularly for a few years and now regret having a daily specific routine - this is not wise. Criminals are hanging out in the mens locker rooms awaiting their target and then texting to their criminal friend "Guest" outside in the parking lot. Then criminal number two goes gets out of car and goes in to the GB3 Gym and cuts your lock off "yes, they CUT my lock off," and cause thousands in fraudulent credit card charges and other personal identity theft. If you have a purse, bag or valuables; I would suggest to bring only what is necessary into the GB3 in Clovis - as the criminals are awaiting their next victim. So much for an upscale experience in Clovis. read more

I started to go to this gym like 2 months ago. They have every kind of work-out equipment, plus sauna room, steem room, pool, and Kids room. BUT, I have to say that I do not like that they don't have cleanning stations. Every time I have tried to use a machine, it has sweat and looks dirty. They should have a policy for the members to clean their own mess. Also, I don't like the people in the front desk, they are never kind or friendly. read more

I recently filed a harassment and employee use of protected information complaint with GB3 corporate in which an employee took private cell phone information out of my membership application and proceeded to text me harassing comments while on the clock at GB3. At first they said the employee did nothing wrong and that someone else gave him the information. I offered to furnish a written statement from the other person indicating they didn't provide the employee the information, but they didn't want to listen...which was quickly followed by GB3 cancelling my membership. Beware folks! There is no privacy with your protected membership information at GB3. Take your business elsewhere. read more

I only attended twice before I realized this was not the place for me. The gym is fine, but the service is lacking. When questions arise, it Is hard to find any answer. When I left messages for help, nobody calls back. It is very much that all voicemails and messages go into a "black hole". All in all, this is an OK place as long as you don't need anything different. read more

I've been a member for over five years. Several issues with the Clovis location. 1) Maintenance on the equipment and locker room facilities is substandard 2) The manager allows their instructors to be rude to the customers. The latest incident was with a trainer named Ray. He left his towel and his workout bag for over 15 minutes on a piece of equipment. I know because I kept coming back to the same machine over the course of my workout. When he finally came back to the machine, I asked how many more sets, and he replied four or five. I reminded him about common gym etiquette, and he proceeded to give me his gym resume, as if somehow that would be an indicator of his athletic ability and his entitlement to set up a tent to camp on the machine. I told the manager as I was leaving, and the guy gave me a condescending smirk and said that he would talk to the trainer. 3) Unfortunately, it's the only major gym in town, and George Brown seems to only be interested in the cash register, and certainly not customer service or having quality staff. I guess I need to lower my expectations; just wish that a quality gym chain would come to Clovis / Fresno. read more

I recently signed up for a GB3 membership, my first time inside I was impressed. All the machines for certain body parts are all together, not only that but they have tons of machines for me to work out on. They always have someone cleaning the machines that are not being used which makes me feel safe and sanitized while working a sweat. All the machines work properly and do not give me any trouble at all. The organization of the machines make my work out so much better! The atmosphere is great, everyone there is there for the same reason I am. The place is always cool and does not smell what so ever. I never thought I can get a better work out and being a member there makes it worth every penny that I spent. read more

I Will make it simple. The safe are thief. I forgot To take my lock from my locker. The Next say I came to find my locker open. I went to front desk. The b i t c h on desk looking at he nails replied oh yes we took if off. I asked where Are my belongings, a maintenance guy takes me to the storage area. They kept all clothes of everyone like homeless. I only manage to find shirt and hat. They stole my $240.00 address track training suit which I only wore 3 Times. Not finding suit for 1 hour, I told them tell a manager to call me. A day later I called the manager. Very rude . And I asked for Gary Brown's number. So I called Gary Brown's to speak to the owner twice. The normal reply. "We will let Gary know he will call you" . At least when you cut lockers but the belongings in 5cents plastic bags so it's easier to find and help a member. Its been a month's and Gary never called, maybe he got a weights machine stuck up his .a s s. And I'm locked in a 13 month contract and they can take my monthly money bit I'm not going there anymore. May they can use my money to buy plastic bags for poor customers like me,Also like few people mentioned. Yes the place Stinks bad. I wrote facts this business does not know customer management.
