My threader was very personable. She seemed to be confident. When she showed me my brows in the store, they looked fine However when I arrived home. I needed to touch up my left eyebrow with an eyebrow pencil. There was a huge gash out of it. Hopefully it will grow back in a couple of weeks. It looks terrible. It's an ok place and the person who does the threading is friendly. However, both times I have gotten my eyebrows threaded I end up with a little cut under my eyebrow (where hair was removed). Both times the cut was in the same spot. I think it's because the threader did it too slowly or something, not sure. Either way it's a bummer because this is the only threading place in Northampton. I have had some decent experiences here but yesterday my brows were completely ruined :( I had spent time growing them out and was working on the shape with another stylist. Now my eyebrows are uneven with a horrible shape that I don't understand at all. I have a cut on my brow and it's swollen today. Honestly don't even want to look in the mirror. It's too bad Bc this place is very convenient but I now know I need to drive 45 minutes to get a service I can trust (but will have to wait for my brows to grow back). read more

Very convenient location. Clean shop. Girl was very nice but did not greet me upon entry as she was behind the desk on her laptop. She sat me in the chair without any sort of discussion (I had to tell her it was my first time doing threading because she sounded frustrated that I wasn't sure what was meant by "hold it". The results were lovely so i am happy with that. While i was there I decided to treat myself to some henna. I chose one of the larger whole hand designs out of the book if choices and let her do her work. Once the paste had all dried and come off and I had a chance to see the work underneath I was apalled... I am almost embarrassed to go out with this on my hand (luckily it is my left hand which I don't use too much). I have personally dine a better job and I am very inexperienced. This is the first negative yelp review I've ever taken the time to write. I just relocated to the area from NYC, where I had my brows threaded every other week-always extremely professionally and beautifully for $7. I had driven by GBS a few times, so thought I'd give it a try. First of all, the price is $12 which I was shocked I was required to pay at all considering that my eyebrows were totally messed up. The person who did my brows acknowledged that they were quite uneven after she threaded them. She offered to try to try to fix them (no thanks) or told me I could just "let them grow back." One is now much thinner/shorter/bumpier than the other. I was pretty upset. Won't be returning. read more

So there are different folks working here on different days - I've come here on a variety of days and have had different people thread me. I do not have one complaint except that a couple of times I came right as they were leaving to eat lunch and because there is only one person, I felt guilty having them stay or I came back which messed up my schedule. So now I avoid lunch time and everything is fine. I've read through the comments here and most of the complaints seem to be based off of either henna (which I have no experience with) or that their eyebrows weren't done how they wished. I've been going here for almost two years and I am pretty clear about what I want "I just want my eyebrows cleaned up, angled here, and I want to keep them thick" and they do them perfectly. It is like going into a hair salon - if you want something specific you don't just step in and say "I want a haircut" and give no other information, you let them know exactly what you want. I would advise to give this place a try for the threading - they are super quick, professional, affordable, and as long as you are clear about what you want, they fulfill those requests! read more

I've been here multiple times over the last couple of years - it's very hit or miss. The first couple of times, no one was there when I walked in even though I was well within business hours - someone showed up at the desk ten minutes later. The most recent time, I was very clear about how I wanted my eyebrows done (nothing complicated, just that I didn't want her to thread between my brows), and she did anyway and then insisted that I had never told her when I pointed it out. Disclaimer: I'm picky about my eyebrows. I rarely touch my own, so I need someone who can clean and shape. I'm a big fan of threading and was a regular customer of Ashu at Moments Spa in Madison, WI. However, not all my threading experiences have been as great as they are at Moments Spa. This was one of the better ones, because they didn't butcher them. However, instead of high arch, they rounded them out (which isn't the style I was looking for). My biggest annoyance was that she said she "fixed" them for me. While mine had grown out, and needed some definite cleaning, they didn't need to be "fixed." They did keep them thick. I may try another technician, and explain what I'm looking for. Other annoyances: they wore gloves, which I think reduced precision, and she wasn't as skilled as Ashu (ie. more painful). I'd recommend giving them a shot. read more

I've gone here more than once to get my eyebrows done, and I love it everytime. Unfortunately, I went in to get henna and it was just awful. It looked as if a child had drawn on me. There was even a picture for reference and it looked not any where close to it. I am extremely disappointed, and very embarrassed to even have it on me. First time I went to GBS, the girl that was there did a good job on my eyebrows, kept them thick and just shaped them. I was happy that I had found my go to place and went to them on a 2nd occasion. The second time around it was a different girl, looked much younger than the one before. Well, she completely butchered my eyebrows...left them so thin and I let her know I was dissatisfied and she made matters worse by being on the defensive. I would rather have bushy eyebrows than super thin ones. Even worse is that I now have a thinning area where she attacked my eyebrows. read more
