I've had a few good experiences in the past, and I'm not someone who's particularly picky when it comes to my nails--I usually just need them to look clean and last a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was really disappointing. They didn't have the pink/nude color I picked, nor the alternative I chose, and the end color was completely wrong. The dip manicure took nearly two hours, which made me miss a reservation I had afterward. Even worse, the end result just wasn't up to par. The dip powder was applied in at least five thick layers, making my nails look bulky and unnatural. The edges were sloppy, and there was visible residue left on my skin and around the nail beds for days. What was also crazy, is that the tech kept dumping way too much powder to coat them (using half the jar!!) and blowing it off in my direction. I was completely (I mean COMPLETELY) covered in dip powder that other customers stuck their fingers in by the end of the appointment. Now that I've left Massachusetts, the dip is already chipping and catching on things. It's frustrating because when you're traveling, sometimes you just need your nails to look decent until you get home--but this time, they didn't even meet that basic standard. I really want to continue supporting this business when I'm in town, but I hope management will consider providing additional training for their technicians. Attention to detail truly matters, and with a little more consistency, Sophia's could be a reliable spot. 2 stars because there aren't really any other options in the area. What I got is something I've never had before and came out pretty terrible in my opinion. A gel was used with a piece of paper to shape each nail. I paid $90 plus tip for these lumpy misshaped witch claws. I was hoping for classy, coffin French tips. Had to ask for reshaping a few times because the nails were all lopsided and pointing in different directions, until another tech came in to try to salvage. I'm due for a fill, it being 2 weeks later, but not sure if I would give this salon another try. It looks like I let my nephew learn how to do acrylics and let him have at it, and I'm frankly embarrassed and hiding my hands. The only positive feedback is that these things are NOT coming off or lifting up. If I could get the same seal to the nail with pretty nails I would go back every time.

After bouncing around from stylist to stylist at other salons, who didn't know quite what to do…read morewith somewhat fine, somewhat slippery, and slightly frizzy-wavy hair, I landed in Tori's chair at Keoho last year, and she's the only one I want cutting my hair. She pays attention to the wave and bend of my hair and is almost artistic when she cuts it. When she's done, I have bouncy long layers that neatly frame my face. I was initially attracted to the salon because it's a small, intimate Hawaiian-themed place (just three chairs in an unassuming strip mall location), but I keep going back because Tori does such a great job on my hair and she's so nice.
