Wish I could afford to fit them more regularly as I age I also picked up some products to take home with me. One of the things that I mentioned to the esthetician was I used to love my freckles but overtime I feel like they have just turned into dark spots not so much freckles. Honestly so discussed with this place, not only did I have an issue today with my service AND have a conversation with the owner Kate about it - I also got blocked (for no reason at all) Booked an appt. here as from reading the reviews I got a mostly positive feeling; so I went ahead and got my legs waxed today by Jada and boy was the a terrible decision. Was in and out in maybe 10min. Get to my car and check my legs out and notice there's patches of hair everywhere so I walk back on it and ask to have it corrected, we go back (she tells me about how she has bad lighting so she's sorry she missed some spots) I'm sitting there thinking "if you don't have good lighting then why on earth are you waxing?!" Anywho I go to my car again and see MORE patches that were missed - I was not about to go in for a THIRD time considering round 1 should of done it. So I get home and contact the owner and she tells me I can come in ...to see the same woman who had already messed it up twice ..... to "fix the issue". I explain to kate that I had gone completely out of my way to come to her salon and that I was going on vacation and it was the first time I ever even had gotten this service done. I asked if it would be possible to get a refund and she said no, as the issue was able to be resolved (if I would just came in to get the waxing finished.) Then I go to message her on Facebook to say that I feel as a business owner the way she handled it was pretty distasteful, I then got blocked. Very disappointed with the service. I was going to a wedding and decided to get a spray tan. I was sprayed very quickly (no more than two minutes, not kidding). During the tan it seemed like she was spraying my body and in some spots just blowing air it was also just the outside of my body no inner arms or legs. I was shuffled out quickly and knew I wouldn't be able to tell if it came out well until the next day. The next day half my arms were pale, my shins were pale and other blotches on my body were not tan as well. Oddly after one day my face had also completely lost all tan. I was really upset that I went there to feel beautiful and ended up feeling insecure. Nothing worse than going somewhere and feeling like they just want your money and don't care about you. I will say the salon was nicely decorated with beautiful aesthetics but the welcome from the staff was cold and un inviting. read more

I went back and forth a lot on writing this review, but ultimately want to spare others the same experience. My senior year of college, I had three events that I felt warranted hair and makeup, so I booked all three appointments at the same time, about five weeks in advance of the first event, and nearly eight weeks ahead of the last event. As far as the services I got, I think it's probably the best I can ask for in the area, but that's not the focus of this review. The last event of my three was my college graduation which took place early May 19th. Part of the reason I selected Glow was because it was one of the only places willing to accommodate such an early time frame. However, on May 17th, I got an e-mail saying my appointment had been cancelled. When I called to ask, they explained that the staff that was supposed to be doing my hair and makeup had elected to go to a training that weekend. They made no arrangements nor accommodations, I don't even think I got an apology, but the only person I spoke to wasn't the owner nor the staff who I had booked, so it's not her job to apologize. It left me in a terrible position, with less than 48 hours to find someone else in this rural, small town to do my hair and makeup for graduation, which started around 8am. Not only is that time practically impossible to accommodate (why I made special arrangements directly with staff at Glow), but there were five colleges in the area, two of which were women's colleges. Basically, they left me high and dry on my graduation and their attitude was one of people who didn't think twice about it. I would never book here again and wish I hadn't brought my business there twice. read more

Ive never been robbed by 'professionals' til now. A little over a month ago, I was searching for a beauty salon since I'm quite new to the area (as a full time student/mother, it's been ages since I've even had the chance to LOOK for a salon.) I came across 'Glow Beauty Bar' it caught my eye due to them offering Botox as well as hair services, a win win for myself wanting both. I called & asked if there was availability that week for those 2 things. The lady who answered, (very unprofessional,) said and I quote, "Oh um. hold on.... *on hold*... Yeah, so our Botox lady comes on random days... not today though so we cant book you for that." Confused I asked what she meant exactly. She goes on, "Well we don't really know what days she's going to be here. She doesn't work here full time, she provides her services there a few days a month but they're not fixed dates, you'll have to book it the day she is here" I simply ask how I'd do that without knowing what days to book for, she responds far from the point "But slots go fast so you'll have to call early." At this point I was not only confused but kind of over it, i gave up, thanked her & informed her I'd be looking elsewhere. Next, the scam in progress. She stalls me, asks if I want to continue with hair services alone; that if she were to book me a month in advance, it would be beneficial bc I'd be in their client system, that way she could contact me with any updates for the Botox days. I clarify I'm gonna keep looking, bc I want to find something sooner before an upcoming event. Despite my refusal, she makes a final attempt; and asks a3rd time(btw y'all, as you can see, she's extremely insistent which put me on the spot under pressure) "How about this, let's book you for hair in a month just incase, that way youll be in our client system for botox updates, AND I'll throw in a discounted facial that day for the inconvenience. We'd just need your card on file to reserve a slot." i say no, I'm already low on money; a mother of 2, in college, with bills and if I get to spoil myself, Im making sure it's what and when I want. I told her that Id hate to forget to cancel and be charged a fee, and that I dont want to do it. "We only need your card to reserve the slot. No payments or transactions occur.So? You can call and cancel anytime. And there will be reminders weeks prior up to the day of." NO MENTION OF CANCELLATION POLICIES, quite the opposite actually. Now I'm crying writing this. This may seem stupid to some, that I did this to myself, but when dealing with professionals, you dont expect them to scam and lie to you, esp. after hounding you to book when you said no. Im in a rocky place with money & these people took $500 from my account today, leaving me w/ $84. My sons bdays are back to back, plus our debt&bills. This threw me over the edge I called them hysterical to resolve this. A woman answered, rude as can be& says "we have strict policies, when you book you agree to those." Policies? I was told my card was a slot holder& there'd be NO charges let alone policies I never heard of. I tell her this and she says "I assure you anyone working here would never say those things. We have a protocol and have to mention our cancellation policy." BUT they did say those things & Im losing $500 cause you THINK they won't stray from protocol? She most definitely added that 'inconvenience facial' to rack the cancellation fee to 500. She knew I'd forget bc not only did I tell her I might, but she promised multiple prior reminders and I got none. THE FIRST TEXT I RECEIVED FROM THEM WAS AFTER THE SCHEDULED APPT. She told me they attempted to call me multiple times today and yesterday, I received no calls no text no voicemails except the one welcome text I just mentioned. She said if I contact my bank they're "ready to fight". I have all the proof I need in my phone of absolutely no contact from them except the one sent after the appt, like ok, thats helpful to remind me to cancel... after you steal my money on purpose. . No matter what I explained or proved, she just kept repeating "but, as soon as you book with us, our policy stands. And there's no proof that we did what you're saying because there's nothing written in the notes on your file. The notes?! Are you KIDDING. The notes you all control? Cause you'd totally write "scamming customer." I never signed any consent form to charge my card. I never received services. Never got reminders. Lied to about policies/ cancellation regiment. I would give this 5 stars if it wasn't for my lash tech leaving. I used to come here and get facials and lash Extentions regularly. However since my lash tech has left I will not be coming back. She used to do all my facials, lashes and even my brow tints. I did however come here when she wasn't working and the women who did my brow tint, who I've now come to find out was Kate the owner, was great but I was getting such an attitude from her. I won't be coming back because of this and the main reason being that my lash tech is absolutely fabulous and I will follow her wherever she goes! I came here last weekend for a hydra dermabrasion facial with Jaime. It was a good experience and she was very nice. After leaving, I noticed there were some painful red lines on the side of my cheek but figured it was just a bit irritated from the dermabrasion tool. I am disappointed that now, after 4 days, it has scabbed over and I can see that my face was actually scratched during the facial. I have actually had people ask what happened to my face, which is the opposite of what I hoped for after having a facial! read more

I was so, so happy I chose Glow Bridal for hair and makeup services for my wedding day. Kate was extremely responsive and very organized leading up to the day. I worked with Mina for makeup, and Carmen for hair. They provided services for me, my bridesmaids and two moms. Mina is a fantastic aesthetician and really knows her stuff. I could tell right away at the trial that I would be very happy with everything. She did a fantastic job at the wedding day listening to the small changes I wanted from the trial, and I literally would not change one thing about my makeup. She also was wonderful with my mom, who had never had her makeup professionally applied, and chatted with her on the phone a few weeks in advance of our wedding. She gave her great skincare advice, and my mom was so happy with her youthful makeup application on the wedding day. All the girls were over the moon as well, and I know one girl who filed away information about Glow for future reference! Carmen was the most patient, hardworking and talented hair stylist I have ever had the pleasure to work with. During my trial, I gave her a pretty complicated inspiration photo, and as we only had an hour together, we didn't quite get it to where we wanted it that day. However, she got my phone #, asked me to send her the inspiration photos and said she would practice the style. Lo and behold a few weeks later, she sent me pictures that she had practiced on her mannequin at home. They were literally perfect. I was blown away by her dedication to get it right. Not to mention, she has the sweetest personality and was very relaxing to work with. On my wedding day she replicated the style perfectly, and I got compliment after compliment from guests. Having recently moved from Minneapolis to Haydenville, and then getting stuck inside for 2 years (quarantining) I have no connections for health and beauty care in Western Massachusetts. I came here to get a spray tan for my graduation. The place was very clean and the front desk was friendly. My appointment was at 11:15 and I walked in and saw that it was pretty backed up--understandable, things happen and it gets busy sometimes. They finally took me in at 11:45. I've been to multiple places for a spray tan before and this was the worst spray tan I have ever gotten. I got the medium tone, waited 10 hours until I rinsed off in the shower, and I looked paler than I did before the spray tan. Whatever solution they use here is not ideal. It has now been a little over 2 weeks since my spray tan and I have scrubbed and exfoliated for 30 minutes in the shower everyday and the tan is still splotched all over my body and literally won't come off. I look like I have a skin disease. I don't know what kind of tanning solution they use here but they need to fix it. Won't be returning here again. Oh. Forgot to mention, when you come out of the spray tan they give you a mini blow dryer you use for a Barbie doll to dry yourself, making you leave the place stickier than ever. read more

Do NOT get your lashes filled or full sets here with Jamie! I recently got a 2 week lash fill and she glued my eyelid shut. In the process of trying to separate my top lashes from by bottom, a lash was in my eye severely irritated it causing by eyes to water to the point I was particle crying. It took severally hours after my appointment for my eye to stop watering and the pain to relieve. Anyone who gets lashes regularly knows no water or stream for at least 24 hour. I am a natural kind of girl- and didn't want anything to overdone or fake looking- just basic things- like what color lipstick looks best? How to do eyeliner and deal with aging skin? And I wanted to be able to reproduce whatever she did on my own. It was terrific- she has natural affordable products, and she's super down to earth and knowledgeable, and fun. I was really hopeful that my trial appointment with Kate was going to go well, since she had such great reviews online. I arrived at her spa/salon no more than 2 minutes early (which to me is late) and the door said "Open. Please knock." I knocked and could hear her inside but she didn't answer. I knocked again and she opened the door a crack to tell me I was "super early" and she was with a client. She left us confused standing outside. I felt that was kind of a rude way to greet a new client. If she didn't want me to knock she shouldn't have had the sign up instructing me to do so. Her makeup was alright but for the cost of the trial (and the way she made me feel like I was an imposition) I really would have liked it to come out exactly how I wanted it. Although her hair stylist, Rachel was very pleasant and did do a good job on my hair, I won't book her through Glow which is unfortunate. Oddly enough, near the end of my appointment, her next client knocked and she was met with a friendly welcome and was not made to stand outside confused. Overall she made me feel really uncomfortable, as if she were doing me a favor.
