His 18 year old nephew and another worker came out the second day after l expected someone. He said he'd tried to call me but there was no answer. Knowing that my cell phone was shaky, l let it go. After the nephew and the other worker examined the door, they tightened the screws and installed a new opener. However, the door sounded rickety, and was slow and shaky. When l questioned why, l was told that the door was old and should be replaced, at least within the next 2 years. Then when l realized they were leaving l asked about operating the new system. The nephew, with a smile, told me to download the app and read the instructions. Immediately, they packed up their things, and left with their ladder and my $342.00. Within a few minutes, l realized that they also had not installed a working light bulb in the new ceiling opener. I immediately called the nephew's cell, left a message. No one returned my call. At my age (71) l knew not to find something to step on to reach the ceiling. So l stood in the doorway while my repaired door shook its way up and down closing me inside an area left pitch black. I finally remembered that there was an inside light not connected to the opener. I will not recommend this business.

So, they repaired the garage door cables and oiled the opener chain. This alone cost $225. There was nothing else repaired or replaced according to the repair person's explanation. Cables can not cost that much... Then the kicker was for less than 1 hour of work, the labor was $300. So the total was $525. I feel so ripped off. This should have cost no more than $200. To their credit, they gave me $75 off for a final total of $450 but I still feel ripped off. So I wrote to the BBB and Attorney General Of IL about this experience. I get a call a few days later from the owner of the garage business trying to turn me in to a happy customer. Long story short, he would not give me what I wanted which was a bill adjustment to $250 off of $450. He instead wanted to shut me up with $100 back and a change to my negative review. He did not want to help make me happy, he just wanted to throw some money at me and get a positive review. I would have given a positive review if he had given me what is fair and so I said I would agree to $125 instead of $250 but he would not agree to $25 more than his $100 offer. He insisted he could only do $100 and I wanted $125 so the call ended up with him getting upset and then him hanging up on me. The weird part before he hung up, he said to me to watch out... Seemed to me to be a threat but I am not sure... Anyhow, save your time and money and contact a different company for any garage door repairs.

Even before the garage door frame was in place for our renovated garage, they came out to help me understand the options because we had some tricky issues. The pre-install guidance was incredibly helpful, because it informed where we placed electrical lines, whether we framed out one door or two, how wide and high we framed the door, etc. And when I finally narrowed it down to two colors, instead of just getting me a tiny swatch deck they ordered an actual panel so I could really hold it up and see what it would look like! They were great about communicating any delivery delays (not their fault, all due to pandemic and manufacturing / shipping delays) and unfailingly polite. The garage door took a while to come in, but as soon as they had it in their hands they got out here right away to install it. During install they recognized that the windows in the top garage panel were slightly off center. Before I even said a word, they brought it to my attention and said they had already contacted the manufacturer and would bring out a replacement panel ASAP. I really appreciated that. Keith immediately flagged the issue and got it fixed. At the end of the install, they gave me a complete tutorial on operation and maintenance. When I couldn't open the door one day (which was my bad - operator error, nothing wrong with the door), they answered the phone immediately and kindly talked me through the process for fixing my error. If this review seems overly glowing, it's because I don't bother to write reviews unless something is really good or really bad. And these guys were that good. They do not offer any discount or incentive for writing a review. I just think someone working this hard to do a good job and excel at customer service should be noted.
