My friend took her car into this guy. He had it for a total of 2 weeks. The first time she got it…read moreback, it started shaking really badly. She took it back into him and he changed the spark plugs. Charged $120--which is outrageous for SPARK PLUGS. It also took him an additional WEEK to change them--a job that typically takes half an hour, speaking from experience. In addition to all of this mess, when my friend got back in her car, it REEKED of cigarette smoke--to the point that her clothes are now smelling like it. She and her family do not smoke and have never smoked. But wait, there's more! He said that he "tested" the car to see if it was shaking. You would think he'd drive it a couple of miles down the road--10 max, right? NO! He drove it 30-40+ MILES!!!!! And didn't even replace her gas! AND HER CAR IS STILL MESSED UP! DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY! HE IS A RIP OFF, HE DOES NOT RESPECT YOUR PROPERTY, AND HE WILL TAKE YOUR CAR ON A JOYRIDE!! COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! If I could give this guy NO STARS, I would!

I purchased a 1992 Silverado Truck from a friend that was leaving the state. After having the truck…read morefor a day I heard a ticking sound coming from the engine and started changing pulleys, fan clutch etc.......which didn't change a thing. The noise was still there! I went to Midas here in town and they said it was the belt, that I needed to change it. I informed them that the belt was a life time and it was brand new! I talked to a friend about the problem and he suggested I go see Clark's Garage on Kilgore Ave. here in Muncie, IN. I went over and talked to the main person there and made an appointment to have him check the vehicle out. After inspecting the truck he informed me that it looks like the crank was moving back and forth causing the rod bearings to make the ticking sound I was hearing after starting the engine. I talked to the previous owner and he said it had always done that. Hmmm! I felt confident about the mechanic after talking more to him and finding out that he, in fact, worked on Dragster engines for people and had been around engines since a young man because his father started the business there. His father sold the business, then it became available to purchase again, and then that is when it was purchased by the owner now. I had started rebuilding engines when I was 16 yrs. old and knew a thing or two about engines. I was put at ease by just talking to the main mechanic there, so let them do the work and found out that it was exactly what the mechanic said it was, the main thrust bearing was worn out and had cut away part of the crank letting it move forward and backward, putting pressure on the rod bearings that was making the ticking noise. While into the block that far I would have changed the timing chain and oil pump and, to my surprise, they had already done that! Yippee!!! A mechanic that repairs things as if it was his own vehicle. My kind of thinking for sure. I would recommend this garage to any customer looking for a garage that does good, honest work. At the same time, the price ended up being cheaper than the original quote.
