This company was assigned to me through American Home Shield on 6/15. They never called to set up a service appointment or to let me know that they were not wanting to work with American Homeshield anymore. I have no AC and it's over 92 on my upstairs floor. I have called several times and tried to leave messages but the mailbox was full. Finally this morning someone picked up the phone to just to tell me that they wouldn't be fulfilling my request! I was connected with Joel through American Helpless Shield and after a brief conversation, I was certain this man wouldn't step foot in my home. Initial Reason for Request: He asked me what I needed. I told him. "Well how do you know that?" "I had another AHS tech come in the fall to assess and that's what he said, fully open to you doing your own assessment though" "well good because I can't go off what someone else says". Why so argumentative? Availability Discussion: I was in luck! He had an appt for the next day during a time I wasn't available. I asked for another day, maybe a more convenient time and Joel suggested that I call AHS back and ask for someone else. Hmph. Customer service anyone? I work in corporate and have my own small business on the side. I bust tail everyday to go above and beyond to meet the needs of my customers. Even moreso in my own company because I have the flexibility. Joel you are everything I hope to never be in a business owner. And you sir are the reason people are so hesitant to support small business. Fast forward: I contacted another company in my area, with great Yelp reviews. Fast, friendly, and they will be out this week during a time that worked best for me. To Joel at Home Mechanical, Your right, the company that fixed both of our AC units are heros. Diagnosed problem you said didn't exist and replaced all the parts the very next day. We were without AC for over two weeks waiting on you and the company our warranty company sent out after you told didn't want to fix our AC problems (which you misdiagnosed) fixed them both in 2 days. They are heros and by the way, it was the same company that repaired them before and he did as well as Lennox told us that they are having issues with the compressors. You told us our downstairs AC would be $750 to repair not including the $125 service fee. You charge $70 per pound of Freon. Affordable Comfort Heating and Cooling in Lawrenceville charges $40 per pound of freon. They fixed our up stairs, which had a bad compressor, and our downstairs, which had a bad coil (as you know) for $1010 including the service fee. Warranty on the parts through Lennox and warranty company paid them labor. Btw, they are so busy they had to put themselves on voluntary vendor hold with the warranty company but still they fixed our units the next day. The warranty company allowed them to accept our work order because we had such an awful experience with you. We would have gone with Affordable Comfort in the beginning had they originally been able to take our work order. American Home Shield will be getting a complaint letter from us and I'm sure Cantrell will be in touch with you about the issues we had with your unprofessional treatment of us. I'm surprised you even responded to my review given that the last time we spoke on the phone you hung up on me. Great service! Very classy. I opened a service ticket through American Home Shield on 5/31/2022. I was assigned this contractor. After several days waiting, I had to call the contractor to schedule the appointment. I was informed that I needed Freon and a AC cleaning, and Home Mechanical would schedule an appointment. After waiting for 2 weeks, I called Home Mechanical about my follow-up. They said a technician would be out on Tuesday or Wednesday. It is now Friday, and I still do not have my AC repaired. read more

Horrendous. Don't waste your time. AC out for a full day and he came out as part of our American Homeshield policy and refused to do the work. Saw that the furnace was in an attic and flat out refused and THEN said, "This is why I own my own business is so that I can refuse jobs and work on what I want to." The furnace can be tricky to get to, but not a big deal and you can stand up at the furnace also. I'm overweight, out of shape and not flexible at all and I go up there all the time to switch out air filters. This was just pure laziness on his part. Hey, "This is why I work in digital marketing, so that I can let EVERYONE know when to avoid a business that is not worth your money." Just call someone else. When I initially requested service was late Friday night and I had to give a call to ask when they will be able to come as we have party coming up the next day. Joel was able to come out the very next day within 24hrs fully understanding the difficulty of having broken AC in summer. He was able to not only find out initial cause of the issue but also ensure they are working for good amount of time before leave. Top notch local business. My 30 year old system finally went belly up and I needed a full replacement. Joel Garcia, General Manager, was excellent to work with. Informative, helpful and never tried to upsell the replacement system. Their prices are competitive and much more affordable then the big boys in town. DON'T LIKE - We have no heat upstairs and American Homeshield selected this company to check our system. They came within the scheduled window of time - so far so good. However, when they arrived I informed them that they would need a ladder to get into the attic. The owner ( I'm assuming), immediately began to make gestures of leaving stating that they can't do the job because it's a safety hazzard to try and get into the attic without an attached ladder. He said, they won't even make the attempt for "HOME WARRANTY CUSTOMERS". What?! Does American Homeshield know this? They do now! Newsflash, some older homes don't offer that convenience. You're a contractor, you should be experienced and willing to climb into an attic. When I questioned him he said they only had an 18ft ladder which I'm sure would have worked. I have a ladder in the garage I could've offered but his tone and demeanor signaled to me that he didn't want the job so I didn't even bother. What a waste of time and energy. Joel is not only arrogant and thinks he knows it all, but lazy and totally incompetent! He refused to do a thorough inspection/diagnose of my system. Wow.. wish I would have read these reviews prior to having AHS allow them to come out to my home. I concur with every review here about the VERY POOR customer in-service from this company. I called them after they had come out to my home to inquire about when they would return to complete work. Joel, was extremely rude and would hardly let me speak and the. Said I was being rude and with a bad attitude... after some conversing back and forth he said ..tell you what, we will not do the work in your home at all this conversation is over. With that I hung up and requested a new contractor to come out to my home. I hope they will be much better than Home Mechanical, LLC. I have even recommended AHS to remove this contractor from their list. Joel provided excellent service! Our upstairs AC went out so I put in a service request with my home warranty company around noon. He came out THE SAME DAY around 6pm. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and told me exactly what was and was not covered. We had a Nest that was having issues - he let me know he wasn't authorized to repair that thru my warranty but was able to replace it with a nice Honeywell thermostat. We have a home warranty on our new home and they sent this company out to fix our ac when it stopped working. He came out right away/on time and we were happy with the work and honesty. When our second system started acting up and not working we requested we have the same guy. Very trust worthy and explains everything to you. Love that I know it's not just fixed, but I know exactly what was wrong, and how it was fixed.
