My recent interactions with Geico were one of the worst in my life. They are not my insurer. My car was hit by one of their insured. They were at fault and Geico said they would pay. My claims adjuster, Scott P never came out and saw my car. He did argue everything for the next 22 days which is how long it took my car to be repaired. He argued every penny with the auto body shop which is one in very good standing. He wanted them to put low in parts in my car when my car had original Toyota parts. This was a nightmare as I was in a rental car for 5 days while my car was done but yet couldn't get it back as Geico refused the stated amount. Paperwork had to go back and forth several times due to they're unwillingness to pay and their mistakes. It was totally unnecessary for me to be put through this. They are horrible company. I'm very glad this is over and that I chose County Line Auto body in Howell Township New Jersey to work with otherwise I don't know if I would ever got my car. read more

I was a customer of Geico for 11 years before PIP adjuster Melina became responsible for a claim that I was determined not to be at fault for. Nevertheless she failed to provide me essential information about my claim, obstructed me from having important paperwork processed and misled me as to the status of the claim. As a result of her poor performance I had to cancel my policy with Geico and change to Progressive. read more

Geico canceled my policy without my consent, and they didn't even inform me. I got a notification from the app that my policy is canceled. I have been calling them from last two three days, and they said we can reactivate it only after the holiday and that on Mangers approval. Because of their mistake from two days, I dont have car insurance, I didn't drive my car. Now today after the holiday, I was expecting their call, but I didn't get any from morning. Finally, I called them, and they said they will call me back....but ha ha ha no call until 5 PM. I called again and they said you have to purchase a new policy, but we can't give you previous discounts. Finally I had to buy another company's insurance. Now, as a customer, I have been paying Geico for almost 5 years. They don't have value for customers. Was hit from behind sitting in traffic geico first thing they did was raise my bill from 160 to 840 a month. I wasn't even at fault. Then they try to deny me treatment. I have a herniated slip disc in my neck and lower back. And have nerve damage through out my whole spin and body due to these injuries. they have denied me any treatment for these injuries they won't even let me see a doctor to get pain medication. This an update on my past review. I did receive a reply on Facebook from Dave at Geico after writing a review on Facebook. I was asked to private message my Policy # and a brief description of what happened. I was told they reviewed my account and I received a reply within 24 hours, actually, the first thing the next morning. I was promised I'd receive a refund at a prorated rate for the days I used which I was perfectly fine with, as it was fair. About 10 business days I received a refund as promised. Geico's homeowner subcontracter went into liquidation and I did not find out about until I got a letter from the State of Florida. I called Geico and they put me on hold for 35 minutes and then cut me off. I called the umbrella branch and even though they did not know about the liquidation they finally got me through to someone who said I needed to take out and pay the full amount there and then. I did so and now the subcontractor insurer theycassigned me sends me a cancelation notice because of a report from an independent inspector who did a fly by inspection (did not even want to come inside to see the new electrical service box or updated water heater and furnace) Spoke with Geico and told them I had not even received any overwork on my new homeowners policy and they promised to take care of it within 1 hour. That was yesterday and I am still waiting. I am soooo disappointed in Geico, I have been with them forever and not claimed anything, now this. Am looking for a quality company that does their own homeowners jnsurance. read more

Geico sent out a guy to take pictures of house for a new policy.. A man showed up and for 3 hours Creeped around my house and went through my belongings in my back yard ....3 hours....... My daughter was home in class remotely and very nervous........He took pictures of every item and square inch and probably took pictures inside my house. On top of all of that he left my gate open. WTF do you guys think you are doing? You are In my Ring camera.... If every single picture and document isn't released to me you will be in court I don't give a flying F what kind of business you are . Guys taking picture of a 60 year old well head . GEICO Insurance a bad bet - try another company! 1. The determination of fault was not applied fairly. 2. The assessment of vehicle damage was not accurate and the repair estimate lacked any parts. Determination of fault: An accident occurred on 5/12/2011 in which a GEICO insured, struck and damaged my vehicle. There was no way in which I could have taken action to avoid being hit. At the scene the owner offered all information and asked nothing in return. They made a formal recorded statement for GEICO and did not deviate from acceptance of full responsibility. Even after speaking to GEICO they communicated with me directly and confirmed what was recorded for GEICO. I have never met a more honest and straight forward person. Based on this information I can see no reason why GEICO would find otherwise then full responsibility for the driver at fault and instead conclude 50% responsibility for each driver. Assessment of vehicle damage: I took my vehicle to Woodbridge Auto Body as per the instructions of a GEICO Customer Service Representative. There I met with a GEICO Claims Adjustor. He photographed my vehicle in detail from every angle. In the GEICO estimate not one single part was included. GEICO indicated that "Aftermarket Parts" might be used, without indicating what they might be. There were a total of 11.4 hours of labor and no parts. I took the same vehicle immediately afterward to Garden State Auto Body. They determined that 9.7 hours of labor was required to replace one "Bumper Cover." Why was the "Bumper Cover" omitted from the GEICO estimate? I was told by Garden State Auto Body that there was no other way to repair the vehicle without the "Bumper Cover". Based on these two items I feel the GEICO is unfair in their claim settlements. read more

WOW, I changed companies last year after my insurer left the state. I lost my car in a fire. I was the administrator on duty in a local animal shelter. The shelter caught fire ( we saved all 71 animals) but my car was lost to it. I've dealt with a Chris Scott. It's been horrible, I feel like I'm speaking with a shoe salesman,because he knows nothing about car insurance or his job. I'm sure there is someone employed at this agency that knows the business, reads the policy and gives correct information. He asked me for the title twice and offered to meet me to give me the check. ummm , the car is financed. in NJ you don't get the title until the car is paid. He then told me I had 5 days of rental coverage.. I have 30 days. He then told me I only have 200.00 for personal items... that is not true either. He does not return calls and I have asked to speak with his supervisor twice... This is a horrible company..... my Nissan was well cared for and I was 9 months from paying it off. I feel really screwed by the whole deal. I paid to be " well insured" and they have fallen short of any expectation. I know my best interest is not with this company. They have no investment in making my my loss whole again. read more

Geico sold a bundled homeowners insurance policy with Assurant, and 10 weeks after a water damage loss, having followed all their requirements and fulfilled all their documentation, nothing has been done. Assurant and Geico never contact you, never return calls or emails. And it is now winter and I have nowhere to live. Assurant/Geico does not even offer an emergency housing allowance. They will "review'" your receipts and decide if it is worthy of reimbursement. Both Assurant and Geico are completely fraudulent, risen to the level of criminality. read more

Very discouraged at this point! Called Geico six days ago after the work on my car was not completed at the Collison. Took 5 photos and sent to adjuster. Said they would have collision center call and get me back in a rental and correct the work. I have not heard back from anyone! 6 days! Is that customer service? People, PLEASE REVIEW YOUR PAYMENTS VS. THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF YOUR POLICY. YOUR PAYMENTS WILL ALWAYS BE MORE. Geico has continously charged me $300 and over the 6 month policy total amount and the answers are never the same from any of the representatives as to why!! STAY AWAY!! The reason it looks so cheap when you get the policy is because they rope you in that way to take the policy and then hide increases in their monthly payments. Unless you look what you have paid to the actual policy amount showing you don't realize it. Go elsewhere. I certainly am!! read more

I called Geico to see if I could get lower rates. I was told that Geico would be subcontracting my home insurance to Travelers Ins co. The rates for home and auto were very competitive, almost too good to be true. However, I did not want Travelers due to online ratings by customers. I also spoke with an auto insurance sales person at Geico. She said that she did not work on commission but she was way too aggressive in getting me to sign up and I felt uncomfortable talking to her. I think I prefer to pay more and know that I can count on my current insurer. read more

I called them today to change my policy. After the change was made, I asked them if there were any other ways I could discount my policy. She told me "you could add a defensive drivers discount if you take a course." I told her I already had, and that I mailed in the certificate. She said there was no record of it on my policy, that the discount was never applied to my policy. I guess if you "go with GEICO" you need to really watch your policy. read more

My husband and I have been covered by Geico for over 10 years We were rear ended over 2 years ago both of us had concussions, jaw, neck and lower back injuries but Geico has refused all our treatments. I needed jaw surgery and my husband had his neck fused. We are still dealing with lower back pain. We will never be the same. All our doctors report that Geico is the most difficult to deal with. We have hired a lawyer but the case has yet to be resolved. We are beyond frustrated and make a point of telling everyone we meet how we feel about Geico. The lower premium is not worth this frustration and denial of services. read more

Can't speak for the company as a whole, but the sales rep I got in the Edison office was awful. Had no idea about the policies, was put on hold after every question I asked, presumably so she could ask someone else what the answer was, and then told me their policy on non-owners' car insurance was not publically available or transparent, but I just wasn't qualified. Awful, uninformed customer service. Called the Hackensack office and got someone a bit more knowledgeable and trained. read more

Geico was fine until I needed them. My car was hit by another car. Notified the insurance company that I wanted to put in a claim against the other drivers insurance. After a month of calling them, they reached the conclusion that neither of us is at fault. We both have Geico. So we can use our collision. Then they can raise our rates. I have a police report indicating the other driver made an illegal lane change, but she told the officer I hit her. The fact that the officer indicated she was at fault meant nothing to Geico. I am done with Geico. Shopping for new insurance. read more

Go to another company! They are amazing at sales and completely neglect you after! I'm going back to progressive!
