This is the third time I've had to call to get an update on my canceled renters insurance refund. During this call, I spoke with Elle, who told me the refund had been processed back to the original card used--which I knew was incorrect. After being placed on hold for nearly 20 minutes, it was finally discovered that GEICO's sister company, Homesite, had actually issued a refund check but mailed it to the wrong address. What's especially frustrating is that during my very first call with Geico, I successfully updated my address for my car insurance--proving the correct address was on file. Despite this, I've now been waiting over a month for a simple refund. GEICO stated there was nothing they could do to expedite the issue and that I would need to wait an additional 15 days. I was then transferred to Allen, a manager, who implied the issue was my fault for not providing an updated address--despite the fact that I had just updated my address on my auto policy. For anyone dealing with renters insurance, I'd recommend contacting Homesite directly. I'm currently on hold while this issue is being escalated to a supervisor. This experience has been a clear reminder that customer service is not a priority at GEICO. I'll be canceling my car insurance and taking my business elsewhere. read more

We got quoted an amazing rate for my young son's auto insurance and after going through all the details the agent kept pulling the, "What card do you want to use today?" Sales pressure...Several times. I kept saying I need to think about this and compare it to other companies. I finally decided to give the card number so I could lock in the rate. After I give the card number and verbal autorization to charge me monthly, Beverly Ann-Santos then casually and quietly tells me my rate went up $150 more/ month from the quote she emailed me because my son's actually drive report came back. She knew the entire time that he was a brand new driver, no accidents, tickets or driving record. First time ever insured. She knew that for the entire hour but waited till after she had my credit card number to tell me my insurance quote incresed from $1270/6 months to $2127/6 months. I think she hope I wouldn't her whisper about the change. I had just told her as well that I wanted to learn more about their home insurance as well, but forget that. I'll stick with Allstate that has agents that are honest. read more

WORST insurance ever. One of their insured rear ended me.. They gave me 50% FOR GETTING REAR ENDED... their reasoning: their insured told THEM I didn't have a turn signal, but on the scene he told me "I saw your turn signal to late." Like uhhhh?! Which one is it?! (Even though I HAD a fucking turn signal.) fast forward to someone ELSE hitting my car... they flat out DENIED the claim when their insured side swiped me. The damages started at the rear of my car all the way to the Hood of my car... her damages were isolated at the front driver side of her car... like how is that not enough evidence?! In regards to a GEICO Claim that was denied in error, and Bad Faith based on California Statutory Protections. Claim #: 066905402 0000 003 Loss Date: Friday, May 6, 2022 Driver: Omar Amine (NOT an employee of DriveLA) Explanation: Hussein elbagoury rented a Mclaren 720 Spider from Drive LA. He allowed his relative who resides at the same address (Omar Amine) to drive the vehicle Hussein had rented. GEICO DENIED this claim based on a false supposition (creative story) that they fabricated to avoid their legal responsibility to cover the damages sustained to the rented vehicle). GEICO's excuse to deny the claim was the FALSE and FABRICATED situation that OMAR worked for the rental car agency, which makes zero sense. Omar was granted permission by the Insured Renter to drive the vehicle. This has NOTHING to do with the rental car agency, and makes no sense from any kind of investigation of the Insured Driver, his friend, or anyone else related to the claim. As the actual owner of the vehicle, I understand that GEICO doesn't want to cover an expensive vehicle... but they certainly didn't have a problem taking their insurance payment to provide the coverage. This time, it didn't work out in their favor, so they're assuming I won't spend the money to fight them in the California court system due to the exorbitant expense, and the fact that they have in-house legal that will make such a case seem impossible to win... and this is the very definition of BAD FAITH in the State of California. Canceled my insurance with no warning whatsoever. Had my policy for over 10 years and always paid on time. Then one random night I received a letter in the mail that my policy was cancelled. When I called to find out why I couldnt get through to anyone without creating a NEW policy, no chance of reinstating my old one. Don't trust. After having continuous service for over 15 years, GEICO is no longer offering auto policy renewal without a 15 days policy review and will not cover your vehicles until they review and process payment. Ready for a prime example of bad corporate ethics? Got into a sandstorm (the ENTIRE car is basically sandblasted now/looked almost new before despite its age). Was very mad but had hoped Geico, San Diego would fix it since I have full coverage. 1. They sent me to their crooked body shop partner who estimated my damages at $1,200 - $500 deductible... (Remember this) 2. The adjuster tells me to take it to a body shop and get it estimated again/repaired the next day or so. 3. The next body shop LAUGHS when they see Geico's "estimate" and tell me that they the Geico estimate is fishy. They fix it for it's actaul damages and point out the adjuster attempted to exclude many of the options my car came with to possibly lower its value. 4. Although the car needs a full repaint (it was a ~65mph sandstorm for f*cks sake), they (Geico) primarily annotate I just need a front bumper repaint and some clear coat on the trunk. 5. The real damage is the car needs to be repainted, headlights unhazed, and grills replaced. Total is $3,800 which sounds about right. 6. They send me a payment claim for $700... (Remember #1?) Both my attorney AND the body shop inform me Geico is hoping that I just take this money and leave my car unrepaired. I am furious at this point. 6. I call Corporate Geico. The nice condescending gentlemen begins to defend his crook adjuster and body shop, partner. When I ask about the 700$ payment they ATTEMPTED to send me, he states "Oh well, some people can get OEM paint jobs for that much at hole-in-the-wall places so you never know"... It was at this point I knew I was dealing with crooks with no ethics. 7. The body shop sent the REAL feature list of my car and damage list to Geico for approval or denial. (I think we all know that they will try to total the car for much less and deny the repairs.) I have NEVER been involved in any type of accident or made any insurance claims until now as a 28-year-old due to a natural disaster. This is how I am currently being treated. I have to do all this trash just to get my car repaired to where it was before the storm. I gave my attorney a call and he just laughed because he knows exactly what they're doing. He says it is very common with Geico. At this point and time, I do not recommend Geico. I am hoping they have some ethics but I will wait and see then follow up. Until then, this review and the other 100 I plan on posting will stay up. Why would you expect someone to be happy and submissive for you attempting to screw them over? read more

I had a small fender bender. Enterprise billed me almost $500 for rental car two months later. I had to call Geico several times to get them to reimburse me. They even argued with me saying i had it an extra day. I didn't. Hated the rental and couldn't wait to get rid of it. Went in same day I was called. I assumed my insurance would go up a bit. It went up by $300 for the next six mo period! I called and they sent breakdown. They raised rates on my son's car also. His portion alone was $250! I never drive his car. I am so frustrated with GEICO. I can't believe what they are putting me through just so my car can gets fixed. I do pay for insurance but they make it seem like I'm asking for a handout. I got car stereo stolen on the 4th of July 2022. It is now October 6th 2022 and for some unknown reason my claim was closed. I was given no explanation no phone call no letter. The letter I did get was a bill for renewing my coverage for the next six month. I have sent in all the information they asked for. I had to call to find out my claim was closed and the reason I was given was "lack of interest" I don't know how the measure my interest in getting my car fixed. I have been trying to get my deductible back from these guys for over a year and I still cant get any answers. My claim examiner is Vincent Waldron and his supervisor is Mathew GEE. He has been with Geico for 9+ years, but still can't seem to give my deductible back. My car was parked at my job and their insured driver hit it. Double Geico claim and we were informed we were not at fault. We were driving in far left lane, car to our right wanted to make a u-turn. He didn't check his blind spot to his left (which our car was in), veered into our lane and collided into our car. Most of the damage was sustained on our front (passenger's side). Geico told us there was not enough evidence to prove the other driver was at fault. Not sure how they came to that conclusion as the other driver was NOT in the proper lane to make a legal u-turn to begin with! After going back and forth with them, we realized they truly do not value customer loyalty. Needless to say, we canceled our policy with them after 18 years. Shame on you Geico. read more

Geico has cancelled my policy because I deliver food for Uber. Not people but food. But the craziest thing is that they were not letting me know any of this. My policy is due in 2 weeks. The app just say I'm paid in full no payment needed at this time. I chat with an agent and this is when I was informed that they are going to cancel my policy. I delivery food probably 5 times a month. I can't believe the way they go about cancelling people. They are rude when it comes to filing a claim and scandalous when it comes to cancelling a policy. Talk about white privilege I have literally been scammed by this company for over a year now they Owe me over $6000 from when a white lady who they represent hit my car and caused it to be a total loss they have not replaced my car seat which is $349 they will not reimburse me for the repairs I had to make while waiting for them to resolve my claim which is over $3000 in damages along with the payout which is over $5000 and days without my car which is $20 a day I've had to report them to the department of Insurance I filed multiple complaints online on the phone they have not taken any of them seriously they refused to pay me my money and instead keep trying to send me fake checks with false amounts I've provided them with the receipts for everything and yet they have refused to reimburse me I contacted a lawyer spoken with him he stated that they are to pay me the money for the items I listed above currently the department of insurance is handling the case Geico has scammed me and it's continue to scam me for over a year I've documented everything from their phone calls to emails to the fake checks and sent them to both my lawyer and the department of insurance I've also blasted them on social media so that everybody has seen them on all of my platforms and will continue to do so until I am paid in full. I wish they had zero stars as an option. We have been loyal Geico customers for over 20 years, always paid our bills on time and had 1 minor claim in 20+ years. My husband was laid off from his job due to Covid 19, and our world has come crashing down. Initially, Geico said they would not cancel policies for late payments, but this ended and they demanded full payment of our past due (minus a 15% reduction for Covid, even though our driving was reduced by 95% as a result of the total shutdown in California) or threatened to cancel our policy. We called them multiple times and explained our situation, and offered to and did make several smaller monthly payments, as a sign of good faith. They refused to assist us, and demanded payment. We had to let our policy cancel on 8/31. Then, they send a letter demanding $485 from the old policy for the period up to the point of cancellation. Again, we called and told them of our situation, and explained that we could not pay the $485 right now. We asked if there was a way they could give us a credit for the fact that our driving went down 95% as a result of the pandemic. They refused to help. We then asked if we could make small monthly payments until the $485 was paid off, and they wouldn't allow it, and said that if we didn't pay in full they would report us to a collection agency (and destroy our credit rating). I filed a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and recommend this to others in similar circumstances. So don't be fooled by the cute little Gecko on TV. They are a ruthless and uncaring corporation who place their profits above all. They are owned by Warren Buffet, one of the wealthiest Billionaires in the entire world. I realize it may seem counterintuitive but, along with Starbucks' coffee, I would have to say Geico is "a big corporation that I have nothing but praise for." To be sure, ANYTIME you EVER have ANY imaginable problem, Geico (literally) is there to handle it. That is, Geico is a rare "we will take care of everything" kind of company. While anything but accident-prone (i.e., only ONE fender-bender in my life), unfortunately I was in a minor fender bender recently and, true to form, Geico was "on top of everything" (e.g., making sure I was in an Enterprise Rent A Car for WAY CHEAPER) and handled EVERY SINGLE NUANCE professionally. As always, they were "actually interested in sincere customer service," which, as Karl from Caddyshack might say, "is nice." I highly recommend Geico and have only had amazing experiences even though the "Alligator" in their funny commercial is (ahem) actually a Crocodile. read more

I've had Geico for my car and motorcycle for several years, and have had three accident claims over the years- two car and one motorcycle. 2012 and 2014 were not my favorite years!My auto claims were both for relatively minor damage, one from road debris, and one was my fault. But any auto body work can be big money. In each situation the service I received was outstanding. The motorcycle accident, caused by an auto driver, was serious, and the bike totaled. That was paid by the other driver's carrier, but Geico dealt with them, not me. And Geico reimbursed me for related accessories, like my helmet, riding pants, (those things are pricey!) and a couple other things. Geico settled with both the lender and me very quickly with no drama whatsoever. Geico recommends certain body shops, but also lets you choose your own shop. They also have Repair Xpress shops, which guarantee repairs for as long as you own your car. I used 2 different recommended shops for my car repairs, and I was completely happy with both. I had switched to Geico from Progressive due to a rate increase. Though I was otherwise satisfied with Progressive, Geico saved me quite a bit of money. read more

I am insured by Usaa. Onie Bass was assigned to my claim and in every exchange he was very kind, transparent and helpful. I expected to be haggled and conned out of what I felt was due based on the accident and having to quit my job, etc. but Geico and Onie specifically were very patient and accommodating. I have never had to deal with insurance companies before and for my first time, they made it a total breeze and I ended up with a more than fair settlement. Auto insurance. In case of an accident always get a police reports as accurate as possible. I was struck by a moving wood log that fell from a moving truck in the highway and even though I told this to the Geico agent she misunderstood and wrote that I hit a wood log. Therefore it was my fault. They assumed I hit a stationary object. Thank God I have a police report from the incident to back me up. read more
