I have been a happy Allstate customer for over 35 years. Recently, I was switched to Jim Kelly without my knowledge. They are nice enough. Reaching a person is difficult. I am not getting reminders that my policies are up for renewal. Tried renewing online and was unable to with 2 days left before my policy expires. A word of advice for those looking at using this office I suggest you do comparison shopping before considering signing with them. Most importantly ask this Allstate office what the likelihood of an insane increase will be to your premium. 20 years as a client, never having filed a claim, and you will be rewarded an astronomical price increase on your policy with no reasonable explanation. I purchased a Homeowners Policy thru Jim Kelly's office back in 2003. Throughout this almost 20 year period I have been fortunate enough to never have filed a claim. Last year, at renewal, my policy amount increased 50 PERCENT. I thought surely this is an error, contacted their office for an explanation. The gentleman informed me this was an "industry wide" increase. I understand some cost adjustments, a premium increasing by double seems quite excessive. No reasonable explanation could be provided. I have been with Allstate so long that although upset about it I kept my policy with them. Fast forward.... My 2022-2023 renewal is approaching and low and behold....another increase! Allstate , are you seriously increasing my premium again ? This is to the point of becoming ridiculous. I've left message with their office. I will update when I've received their response. I'm a retired engineer and I had Allstate auto insurance for decades. At some point, Allstate added a Specialized Professionals discount - but no one from Allstate ever told me about it. They had my occupation in their database, just never bothered to let me know about saving money. I finally found out about it and requested the discount three weeks prior to the renewal date. I emailed a copy of my diploma to Rosalie Kissel, as requested. I checked the Allstate website for a reduction in my premium regularly, and, after two weeks of no change, I used the site's email contact system to ask when is it going to happen - no reply of any kind, ever. A few days before the renewal date, I called and asked about the delay and was told "maybe it will be on the next bill." A day later, I received an email that had me send another diploma copy, as well as an e-sign document, to finally process my discount. A week later, after the renewal date, I received paperwork dated several days after the change was processed, requiring a paper or FAX copy of my diploma. I spent 15 minutes on the phone with the main Allstate number (provided if I had questions about the paperwork) trying to determine if the two electronic copies were adequate to complete the discount process - they finally admitted they had no idea and advised me to send in yet another copy so that my discount wouldn't be cancelled. Never offered anything for the years (decades?) that they ignored the existence of the discount. When I started with Allstate decades ago, the agent was an informed, dedicated, and straight-shooting person. My agent retired and now it's devolved into a clueless mess, top to bottom - I'm glad I wasn't trying to get a claim paid. My auto insurance is now elsewhere, at a much lower price - and they got the discount right the first time. read more

I haven't set foot in the office, but I did switch to Allstate after speaking on the phone w Julian, my new insurance agent for home & auto. Paying the same as before, with MUCH BETTER COVERAGE. Julian helped me tailor my policies for my needs; I really hadn't known what I was doing on the "other" do-it-yourself policy-making website page, tho I'd thought I did. Now I feel covered. I could clearly see he appreciated my business and was willing to work hard for me. He has always been available when I call. I immediately felt this person and the agency were a business which focuses on honesty and integrity, and go above and beyond to meet and exceeded my expectations. It is refreshing to work with a group that is relational rather than transactional. I truly felt that he was on my side and cared about me not just my business. I have also talked with Mr. Borden in regards to Life Policies. He was very informative and never did I feel pressure to buy his product. Had Allstate for over 10 years through Jim Kelly. Our car was t-boned (totally not at fault). Never did get a fair replacement price for our car. Jim Kelly wasn't able to help against the corporate claims department. Wrote it off as s*** happens accident. Then had a shower leak in my condo. It got declined. There was no reasoning with the claims department and Jim Kelly was no help. This is a cheap insurance and it makes you feel good that you're covered, right until you need it........ read more

9 years ago when i got a landlord's policy from them- they were fine. But ask for a simple thing to be done, like adding my newly hired mangement firm to the policy (Jan 2014) they wont' do it. They take all the information but dont' perform and deny that i called. Gergory Kelly says that their e-mail via Allstate doens't always work - therefore they don't get my messages all the time. They deny i ever called them. I cancelled the policy at June 1, 2014 - and they kept it on the books until 7/7/14 - now they are demanding more money and have sent me to a collection agency - they lie and are too lazy to do their work. Yes, they will sell you a policy but will refuse to do anything afterwards. read more

I had Allstate for a few years through the Kelly insurance. Up until now they were fine. I had a perfect driving record. I received a DUI (stupid me) and they called me to tell me my policy was non renewing because I got the DUI. So, I obtained Mercury insurance that very same day. A few days passed and my bank account showed Allstate had withdrawn 661.00 from my account. I called asking what the charge was, and I was told they changed their mind and renewed my policy at a bargain of 661.00, and that was my new monthly payment!!! (From 129.00) Not only was I not informed nor did I sign any new contract, who in their right mind spends 661 bucks a month on car insurance??? Mercury offered it to me with the DUI with the same coverage at 182 a month. These people do whatever they want with your money without your consent. Its been 9 days now, and I still havent received my refund. Ive called and emailed multiple times. I get the run around every time. Buyer beware! read more

They recently helped me review my policies and found some gaps in my coverage. One of the agents provided me with a quote for Renter's Insurance, it was really affordable and even helped me qualify for a discount on my Auto policy! in my somewhat ancient life of 66 years, i have dealt with many insurance companies over the years. jim kelly and his staff are the simply the "rolls royce" of companies, period. jim is the coolest guy around, and "the gang" actually make insurance (which can be the most tedious thing on the planet) fun!.....between birthday cards, personal "how are you calls", a constant flow of email, and yes, even cookies at christmas, makes it a joy to "work" with these exceptional people. out of a possible 5 stars, i giving them a 10....:-) read more
