The salon was dirty and smelled strongly of nail polish. The color I picked out looked nothing like the sample given so I picked a different one and it wasn't really what I was looking for either but it was difficult to communicate with my nail artist. My friend picked a color for both her fingers and toes and they secretly swapped it out halfway through with a "similar" color so they could give the original one to someone else. Then we were charged more than advertised on the menu. We got gel mani and pedi and the edges are already peeling up after 2 days. First off, I have never written a yelp review before. Let me just say, I will never be coming back to this nail salon again. I went there because the nail salon I normally go to is like 15 minutes away and I just wanted a quick mani. I was getting a previous dip manicure taken off and getting a new color. The woman who did my nails was very aggressive while doing my nails and gave me friction burn on the sides of most of my fingernails. I was told that this is what happens with short nails... but I get my nails done often enough to know that doesn't happen unless the person doing your nails is not careful. I told her that she was being aggressive and that she was hurting me and she didn't acknowledge my request for her to be more gentle. At first I was impressed with how quickly they got me in and out (took about 30min) until I realized the quality of the nails was compromised by how quickly she speed through them. I got a shellac manicure done on a Monday afternoon and by Thursday evening they were already chipping. It's been 8 days and I have only 3 nails left with polish on them. HORRIBLE! I'm usually not one to leave reviews, but I had the WORST experience at this establishment. I recently moved to Omaha and have been in search for a new salon and I do NOT recommend this place. I went to get my nails done for a wedding (I'm a bridesmaid) and requested white tip. First, the nail tech (second station from the door, to the left) applied the acrylic SUPER thick! She kept saying I needed thick so my nails wouldn't break and each time I asked her to make them thinner, she got upset. She added a tip to my nails and there was literally a huge gap between the tip/acrylic and my natural nail. I had to ask her to fix it, which I shouldn't have. When I asked, she carelessly and haphazardly clipped my natural nail with no thought put into it (see image). Now, my natural nails are uneven and ruined which is what I wanted to prevent and SHE suggested the tip. She did not file my nails at all during the whole process. When it came time to wash, I asked her to file them because she hadn't and the shape of my nails were a mix of almond and stiletto- no consistent. I asked her to file ONCE. She then argues with me saying she did file my nails and throws the nail file at me and said "here, since you know, you can do it!" I was FLABBERGASTED! I did not retaliate because at that point, I was VERY angry and just ready to leave. The owner (at least I think she was the owner) had to step in and file my nails, then told me the lady did file my nails but I didn't see because I was watching my movie. I monitored everything the lady did while doing my nails. To top it off, each tip is uneven and my nails are SUPER THICK (see images). I have never experienced anything like this in my life and did not expect to have a nail file thrown at me during my visit to Gel Nails. I was never disrespectful to anyone there. Now, I have to find a new salon and get my nails done AGAIN to have this fixed. I will not be going back and would not recommend this establishment to anyone! read more

my daughter got a full set last week, and all but 2 of her nails broke off. she went back to the salon and asked them to fix the nails and they tried to charge her $40, for their mistake. also, they told her it was her fault that her nails broke. Can't go to sleep because my finger hurts so bad ... so I thought it would be a good use of my time to leave a review. I came here because it's close to me and was relatively cheap for a soak off... I thought to myself "A soak off is a soak off.. I don't see how driving across town would make a difference." PLEASE save yourself and drive across town. The guy took my acrylics off by SLICING an unused acrylic in between my real and fake nail... Sounds painful? IT WAS. I should've stopped him but this was my first time getting a set removed and I assumed he knew what he was doing. NOPE. Afterwards, I realized that he sliced the base of one of my real nails and it was bleeding. He didn't remove the plastic acrylic from that nail because doing so would probably lift my real nail with it. So, currently I have a sliced fingernail (and finger, most likely, based on the blood) that is absolutely throbbing and probably won't go back to normal for months. Quite possibly the worst manicure I've ever gotten. I got a shellac manicure and it chipped later that night. I live pretty close by so I thought I would give it another chance. This time 7 nails came off within 3 days and when I went to get them fixed, I made an appointment and had to wait 15 minutes just for someone to come see me. Things they did wrong if you don't want to read a long negative review: cut me, yelled at one another while we were getting our nails done, talked on the phone while doing my nails, never asked us to wash our hands, and my friends dip (which usually lasts anywhere between 3-4 weeks at Minabella) came off the next day. My nails also hurt immensely due to the over-filing 24 hours afterward...that has never been an issue in my life. I came here with one of my best friends for our "monthly dose of reality", where we talk about what's new in our lives while getting pampered. To begin. I walked in and was unimpressed with the layout and honestly overall cleanliness of the place. They were not going to seat us together, which kind of defeats the purpose of getting your nails done with another person. We had to advocate for a spot next to one another, and after acting like it was a huge deal the begrudgingly agreed. So we sit down, and my nail tech is literally talking so loud that I can't hear my friend, which defeats the purpose of our monthly get together. The salon did not have the appropriate materials to remove dip as they kept buffering my nails and talking about their lack of alcohol to remove the dip I had received previously. During this time, they cut me with a burr on my left middle finger. My nail tech proceeded to hold the cut and apologize, which is kind but super unhygienic. Then he answered a phone call in the middle of dipping my nails, which for $40, I expect the attention to be on me and not whoever called you at work. He also cut my nails in an uneven fashion, but I didn't complain because he was on his phone. He never had me wash my hands throughout this process until the end. He texted throughout the dip. Then he filed my nails near my skin, which was incredibly painful during and after the appointment. No discount was offered, which is ridiculous considering he cut me. The next day, my friend's dip was already chipped and she did not do anything that would inherently chip a nail. Overall, bad experience. I live literally within walking distance of the salon and would never go back. Do yourself a favor and go to Minabella instead. read more

NOT ALLOWED to question price discrepancies with Management nor customer service. For being in a midtown location this salon offers very poor customer service and Speaks rudely to customers. I had my toes done several times and was NEVER charged an extra fee. One day a different tech tried to charge me $5 more than I have paid previously for a certain nail color. This is not in price menu therefore, I questioned & made manager aware of situation and that I wasn't charged in past. Therefore, ? I'm sure as any consumer would question. Another time Amy was doing a fill and I asked for a tad bit more fill on one nail please. Amy responded back that next time I can go somewhere else. I found that to be a rude response & I informed Manager AKA Vicky , Amy's sister, that Amy could have just offered to fix instead of the rude comment. Now today Vicky does my nail design & runs out of jewels. Therefore, as a courtesy I say it's fine to use different mix match. I then proceeded to pay knowing I have reward credits built up to use. Vicky at check out charged me $5 extra then normal for designs. Then the "previous" front desk girl closed out my rewards account? Therefore, I miss out on $$$. Vicky even admitted she knows I check my balance all the time. So with All this EXTRA $5 and missing the $15 & Vicky only offering $2 discount, I proceeded to ask well..... as a consumer I have two different jewels on mix/match but one wants to charge extra?? Plus I just lose out on $15?? Vicky was Rude told me I was difficult and REFUSES to serve me! When asking her where was I being difficult? Vicky walked away and didn't answer calling security! I recorded all of this on my phone after Vicky raised voice and told me I was difficult. Ummmmm your prices are NOT consistent and I just lost my reward credits but I am not supposed to ask WHY and HOW can this be resolved FAIRLY? They helped multiple customers that came in after me and the whole process took over 35 minutes. Terrible customer service. I hadn't been to this nail salon in a few months and it definitely has to be under new management because it is a completely negative experience now. While I was there, I witnessed a 80+-year-old woman wait well over 20 minutes to be waited on while sitting at a nail table. She was completely ignored by staff even though I could hear them in the back talking. She inquired several times about the status of her appointment and was just ignored. It was sad to witness such disrespect. On a personal note, my pedicure was fine though I was surprised the price was quite a bit higher than last time. The gentleman who did my manicure was rough and cut into the skin around my cuticles in several places on both hands end it is still sore and tender even though it's been a full day. The price for my nails was also higher than last time. I won't be going back due to the higher prices, inattention to the elderly customer that I Witnessed and the inept skills of my manicurist. They are under new ownership/management. Now called Gel Nails and things have been going down hill. They get you started and let you sit and sit. Today I walked out after an hour for a shellac manicure. They only got the polish off but had done nothing else! In that time I should have been done and out the door. My last full pedicure and manicure took 3 hours!! Often I would have to point out the shape was uneven or one hand had longer nails than the other. Most act annoyed. The original NT Nails Staff is still pretty good when you can get them but not enough to make me go back. I'm done with them. Time to find a new nail salon. Too bad. Got a fill with shellac, showed them a picture of what I wanted and the result was not even close. I also got a pedicure and instead of using tin foil and cotton balls to take off my shellac on my toes they used the electric filer tool. It hurt my nails and I jumped multiple times and asked to take it off with soaking it like usual and was told "only little bit more." Will not be returning. read more

Horrific experience!!! Don't ask for Amy. She was rude, careless, and burned me twice with the tool she was using to file down my old acrylic. When I complained of the excruciating pain after the second nail, she not only did NOT apologize she grabbed my hand back said, " That's just the way it is when you file off the old acrylic"...Well, I told her I had been having acrylics for the last 12 years and no one! And I mean no one EVER burned me once!!!! and then she had the gall to argue with me on that point. SHOCKING ATTITUDE!!!! So, I walked out and will never EVER go back. But, I have not been totally impressed with the dirty conditions, The assembly line atmosphere, and totally messy and worn out reception area. So, I went to Aksarben Nails in Aksarben Village. Beautiful atmosphere, clean and well appointed. Eric took over where Amy left off, did a beautiful job (just the way I wanted) and never once burned me with the filing tool. Also only charged me $40.00. I was so impressed I will now be using Eric at Aksarben Village. It's worth the drive! BTW, Amy, I am a big tipper and you lost a good customer for your Gel Nails owner. I made an appointment ahead of time and still had to wait 20 minutes to get started. The water for my pedicure was cold and the manicurist NEVER STOPPED TALKING. She also couldn't focus on anything while she was talking, so instead of relaxing I had to keep reminding her what she was supposed to be doing. She had nothing set up for my gel manicure. It took her 15 minutes to find a working UV light to dry my nails properly. And then she mutilated my cuticles. And then it was way over priced when I went to pay. I have had good experiences here, but lately it's been really awful. This last time I went in for shellacked nails (gel nails) I paid for a manicure and never were my cuticles attended to -- not even a little. I also paid for a pedicure that would be sure to detail my cuticles (and they charged me for that service), but next to no work was put into my cuticles on my toes, either (barely more that the nothing that was put into my fingers). I tip well. So, I know that's not the problem. Initially, I thought I really liked this place and had planned on returning indefinitely with friends in tow, but I cannot recommend and bring business into a place that continues to do subpar work. There are maybe two employees there I really like, and if I could guarantee seeing either of them every time I might consider still going. But the service is a total craps shot! only nail experience i've ever had that i walked out half way through. first of all, the girl doing my nails was coughing on me the whole time. disgusting!! i told her my natural nails were very sensitive and she was filing them very aggressively they turned bright red and i had to tell her several times that she was hurting me. i got a full set of acrylics in coffin shape and when i told her one was INSANELY crooked she told me to hold my hand different and it wouldn't look crooked (?????) every single one of my nails are crooked and the lengths aren't even with the other hand. by the time i had enough of her coughing on me and hurting me i didn't have any color on my nails and i told her we were finished and i left with just acrylic powder on my nails and was still charged full price. their social media content of their services don't even compare to the job they actually do.
